Divine Level Witch Doctor

To his students, Genji Doju’s words were gospel. One of them immediately pulled out his phone, dialed Kawashima Haruhiro’s number, and relayed their teacher’s command.

Hearing that his teacher, his fellow disciples, and many colleagues in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Community were all watching this competition, Kawashima Haruhiro felt a heavy weight on his shoulders. But this didn’t crush him; instead, it ignited a fierce fighting spirit within him.

Kawashima Haruhiro held the phone and replied loudly, ”Please tell our teacher that I will not let him down! I will win this Auscultation competition! I’ll show our colleagues in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Community the might of our Genji School!”

”Give me the phone.” On the other end of the line, after hearing his student relay the message, Genji Doju held out his hand and ordered.

The student on the phone immediately and respectfully handed the device over to him.

”Do your best, Mr. Kawashima!”

Genji Doju’s words were brief, but that single short sentence gave Kawashima Haruhiro immense encouragement.

”Please rest assured, Teacher. I will give it my all!” Kawashima Haruhiro declared with extreme solemnity, his tone like he was taking an oath.

After hanging up, he immediately turned and ordered his assistant, ”Turn the livestream back on!”

”Huh?” The assistant looked baffled and asked, ”But didn’t you just tell me to turn it off? Why do you want it on again?”

Kawashima Haruhiro glared and snapped, ”Just do as I say! Why all the questions? Are you asking for another beating?”

”No, no, no.” The assistant went pale with fright and hastily said, ”I’ll turn on the livestream right now. Right now.”

Kawashima Haruhiro snorted coldly and added another instruction, ”After you restart the stream, post an announcement saying the broadcast was interrupted because the phone ran out of battery. Now that we’ve replaced it, the stream is continuing. Understand?”

How could the assistant dare to say ’no’ at this point? He could only nod repeatedly.

Soon, the livestream was back on.

Meanwhile, the people from West Hua Medical University were asking Zhao Yuan in confusion, ”That old bastard Kawashima Haruhiro was clearly playing dirty. Why did you agree to another round with him?”

Zhao Yuan replied, ”Because I’m confident I can beat him again.”

The overwhelming confidence in his words made the medical experts present gasp.

Even they wouldn’t dare claim certain victory against Kawashima Haruhiro! In fact, they would likely lose more often than not. Yet Zhao Yuan dared to say he could beat Kawashima Haruhiro again!

But they didn’t think Zhao Yuan was making an arrogant boast. Instead, their faces lit up with delight as they pressed him, ”How confident are you?”

”Completely certain!” Zhao Yuan uttered two words.

Hearing this, the crowd was so stunned they didn’t know what to say.

A young man, not even twenty years old, claimed he was completely certain he could defeat the shining star of Japan’s medical community... If anyone else had said this, the medical experts would have probably torn them apart. But coming from Zhao Yuan, it was different.

People were merely stunned, not doubtful.

Someone even glanced back at Kawashima Haruhiro and said with a laugh, ”I wonder how Kawashima would feel if he knew he was going to lose even after playing dirty?”

Most, however, were just eager to see the competition. ”Kawashima is famously skilled in Auscultation! We haven’t seen Zhao Yuan’s Auscultation technique, but judging from his level in Observation and Palpation, it can’t be bad. This Auscultation match will definitely be a clash of titans! If Kawashima really loses in the end, hehe, then we’re in for a good show!”

「Ten minutes later, they arrived at their destination.」

The hospital director had already arranged everything and was waiting at the entrance. Seeing so many famous medical experts arrive together, he was incredibly excited. He called for the logistics staff to take more pictures while leading the group to the prepared consultation rooms.

There were two consultation rooms in the Traditional Chinese Medicine department on the third floor of the outpatient building. They were near each other but separated by enough distance that there was no need to worry about a diagnosis from one room being overheard in the other.

By now, dozens of patients had gathered in the hallway of the Traditional Chinese Medicine department. All of them wore hats and masks to hide their faces, preventing Zhao Yuan and Kawashima Haruhiro from discerning their conditions using the Observation Technique.

These patients had all been brought from the inpatient department. To ensure their cooperation, the hospital had reduced a portion of their treatment fees.

The hospital director was very clever; he was obviously using this competition for publicity. What was a small loss in treatment fees? Compared to the fame they would gain, that little bit of money was nothing.

Zhao Yuan asked, ”Mr. Kawashima, are you ready? Can we begin the Auscultation competition?”

Kawashima Haruhiro answered, ”It seems Mr. Zhao can’t wait. The competition can begin at any time!”

Seeing that both were ready, Qiao Zhixue opened the stopwatch function on his phone and said, ”Will the two of you please enter your respective consultation rooms!”

Zhao Yuan and Kawashima Haruhiro each entered a consultation room. In addition, each side sent one person into the other’s room to monitor for any cheating.

The person sent to monitor Kawashima Haruhiro was Yang Jingbo from West Hua Medical University. The one monitoring Zhao Yuan was a student Kawashima Haruhiro had brought with him. Additionally, Kawashima Haruhiro’s assistant also followed him into the consultation room to maintain the livestream.

”Begin!”

As Qiao Zhixue announced loudly and started the stopwatch, the Auscultation competition officially began.

The medical experts were not allowed to watch in person and were asked to leave the Traditional Chinese Medicine department to wait for the results outside.

The patients in the hallway lined up and entered the two consultation rooms one by one.

They had been instructed beforehand that they could speak during the diagnosis but were not allowed to describe their own conditions. Furthermore, a curtain was hung in each room; when drawn, it made it impossible to see the patient’s appearance.

But even these many obstacles didn’t stump Kawashima Haruhiro. From the very beginning of the competition, he displayed an extremely strong talent for Auscultation!

For every patient who entered the room, he only needed to listen to their voice and smell their scent to make an immediate diagnosis. His speed was incredible, and his accuracy was remarkably high, greatly surprising the patients. Everyone whose condition he identified praised him repeatedly, completely won over by his skill.

After seeing Kawashima Haruhiro’s skill in Auscultation, the Japanese netizens in the livestream chat also changed their tune from their earlier criticism, showering him with praise and admiration.

Even Genji Doju nodded repeatedly after seeing Kawashima Haruhiro’s performance, commenting with satisfaction, ”Kawashima is performing well.”

Kobayashi Haruo and his fellow disciples were even more effusive with their flattery.

”Senior Brother’s Auscultation ability has reached a new level!”

”Such an exquisite Auscultation technique would be ranked among the very best, even in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Community! How can the declining practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine possibly compare?”

”Truly the shining star of Japan’s medical community! Senior Brother is sure to win this time!”

Half an hour passed quickly, and the Auscultation round was about to end.
