Divine Level Witch Doctor

On the way to the hospital, Kawashima Haruhiro’s assistant, who was in charge of the live stream, suddenly cried out anxiously, ”This is bad! Mr. Kawashima, this is bad!”

Kawashima Haruhiro was already in a foul mood. Hearing his assistant yell that things were bad instantly made his temper worse. He spun around and slapped the assistant across the face. ”I’m perfectly fine!” he snarled. ”What are you yelling about?”

The assistant was stunned by the slap. It took him a moment to recover before he hastily explained, ”Mr. Kawashima, I wasn’t talking about you, I was talking about the stream. You have to see this. Right now in the stream chat, tons of people are calling you a coward, saying you’ve disgraced the Yamato Race. They’re also calling you trash, a weakling, and so on... What are we supposed to do?”

”What?” Kawashima Haruhiro was shocked. ”The stream is still going?”

The assistant nodded. ”It’s been on the whole time.”

He then took the phone off the selfie stick and handed it to Kawashima Haruhiro so he could see the comments in the live chat.

After just one glance, Kawashima Haruhiro’s face turned grim. ”Bastard!” he roared, violently slapping the assistant’s face again. The assistant, nursing his red, swollen cheek, said with a sense of grievance, ”Lord Kawashima, why are you hitting me? It’s the netizens posting those comments, not me.”

Kawashima Haruhiro pointed at the phone and questioned through gritted teeth, ”Why is it still streaming? Why didn’t you cut it off earlier?”

”Huh?” The assistant froze for a second, then replied, ”You’re the one who told me to keep the stream on and not to stop.”

”Are you fucking stupid?” Kawashima Haruhiro was about to explode with rage at his assistant’s incompetence.

After making the assistant shut down the stream, he continued to berate him. ”I told you to stream to boost my reputation! Given that, you only keep streaming when the situation is favorable to me. When it’s not, why the hell are you still streaming? Do you want to make a fool of me in front of the people of Japan? Whose fucking side are you on? You haven’t been bought by that bastard Zhao Yuan, have you?”

The assistant scratched his head, a wronged look on his face. ”You didn’t specify that beforehand. I thought I was supposed to keep streaming no matter what!”

Kawashima Haruhiro was so angry his eyes turned red. He raised his hand to slap the assistant again.

The terrified assistant quickly covered his face with his hands. Both of his cheeks were already red and swollen. Another slap, and his face would surely swell up like a pig’s head!

Seeing him dare to defend himself infuriated Kawashima Haruhiro even more. He abandoned the idea of slapping him and instead kicked him in the stomach, knocking him to the ground. ”If you want to work for me, you need to be smarter. Otherwise, get the hell out!”

”Yes, yes!” The assistant didn’t dare get angry even after being beaten; he could only agree repeatedly.

What Kawashima Haruhiro didn’t know was that his master, Genji Doju, was also watching the competition.

「Japan, Tokyo.」

In a picturesque Japanese-style courtyard, Kobayashi Haruo, his master Genji Doju, and several of their fellow disciples were at Genji Doju’s home, watching Kawashima Haruhiro’s challenge against Zhao Yuan live on a computer.

Seeing Zhao Yuan’s astonishing skill in Observation, the disciples cried out in surprise. Even Genji Doju’s brows were tightly knitted. After a long moment, he said, ”What a formidable young man! Has the new generation of talent in China’s medical field already become this absurdly strong? I don’t know about his other skills yet, but in Observation, his level is absolutely top-tier!”

After speaking, he glanced at Kobayashi Haruo and sighed. ”Mr. Kobayashi, I misjudged you before. This Zhao Yuan truly has some ability. There is no injustice in your loss to him!”

Hearing these words, Kobayashi Haruo felt a sense of relief.

Until now, he had been carrying a heavy sense of humiliation, believing that his defeat by Zhao Yuan was not just his own disgrace, but also a disgrace to his master and school. His master’s words now told him that losing to Zhao Yuan was not shameful, because Zhao Yuan’s skill was truly immense!

Suddenly, a strange thought popped into Kobayashi Haruo’s mind.

He actually wanted to thank Zhao Yuan—thank him for displaying such powerful Observation techniques and allowing him to wash away his shame.

But he quickly dismissed the thought, tapping his own head and muttering to himself, ’Kobayashi Haruo, are you an idiot? Zhao Yuan is your enemy, and you actually want to thank him? How pathetic can you be!’

Meanwhile, his fellow disciples, after their initial astonishment, couldn’t help but discuss what their Senior Apprentice Brother could do to defeat Zhao Yuan. After much deliberation, they all felt his chances were slim. It was at this moment that they saw the scene of Kawashima Haruhiro acting like a sore loser.

The room fell silent.

No one had expected Kawashima Haruhiro to act so shamelessly.

It was simply too disgraceful!

Genji Doju’s face was as dark as a thundercloud. Kobayashi Haruo and his fellow disciples all shrank back, not daring to make a sound. They knew a storm was about to break.

”’My Chinese isn’t good?’ Heh heh... What a fine excuse Kawashima has found. I just wonder, for Auscultation, if he fails to measure up again, what kind of excuse will he find then?” Genji Doju’s tone was ice-cold as he spoke.

His disciples were trembling, but they couldn’t just stay silent. They had to bite the bullet and say, ”Master, please don’t worry. Senior Apprentice Brother’s attainments in Auscultation are plain for all to see; he is absolutely first-rate. Zhao Yuan has extraordinary skill in Observation, but it’s impossible for him to be just as proficient in Auscultation. Senior Apprentice Brother will definitely win this match!”

Kobayashi Haruo swallowed hard. In his heart, he felt that Zhao Yuan’s skill in Auscultation was likely not low either and that the odds were against Kawashima Haruhiro. But after a glance at Genji Doju’s expression, he didn’t dare voice these thoughts and could only keep them to himself.

Just then, the live stream suddenly cut out.

Genji Doju was stunned. ”What’s going on?” he asked. ”Why did the stream suddenly stop?”

”Uh, it seems Senior Apprentice Brother turned off the stream...” one of them answered.

A single thought arose in everyone’s mind simultaneously: ’Senior Apprentice Brother turned off the stream... Could it be that he’s getting cold feet before the battle, feeling that he has no guarantee of victory?’

”Absurd!”

Genji Doju exploded in fury. He shot to his feet and roared, ”Does he have any idea how many people in the world of Japanese Traditional Chinese Medicine are watching this competition? He dared to turn off the stream? Isn’t that just telling everyone he’s already afraid of his opponent? This is utter nonsense! A disciple of Genji Doju can lose, but he absolutely cannot be a coward! Call him immediately! Tell him it’s my order to turn the stream back on right now! And command him that he must win this competition, or I will not forgive him!”
