Divine Level Witch Doctor

Genji Doju was very satisfied with Kawashima Haruhiro’s declaration. ”Alright, you may rise,” he said.

”Yes, sir!” Kawashima Haruhiro immediately sat up.

Genji Doju asked again, ”Is there any news about the patient Zhao Yuan has chosen?”

Kawashima Haruhiro shook his head. ”Not yet. I’ve already asked someone to look into it, but the feedback is that Zhao Yuan is very tight-lipped and hasn’t revealed anything to outsiders.”

Genji Doju pondered for a moment. ”Zhao Yuan may not tell outsiders, but he’ll certainly tell the people from West Hua Medical University. Find a way to get the information from one of them. As long as we can find out the condition of Zhao Yuan’s chosen patient in advance, we can pool our collective wisdom to help you analyze the case and devise the best treatment plan. If we do that, we are guaranteed to win this competition!”

Kawashima Haruhiro replied, ”Yes, sir. I will do everything I can to find out this information as quickly as possible.”

Genji Doju continued, ”Mr. Kawashima, your competition with Zhao Yuan has escalated to the level of a battle of legacies, a national war! I want you to understand that this is no longer a simple medical contest—it’s a war! If you win, you, Mr. Kawashima, will become the shining light of Japan’s medical community, a great hero of Japanese Traditional Chinese Medicine! And Japanese Traditional Chinese Medicine will completely crush Traditional Chinese Medicine underfoot! From now on, the world will only know of Japanese Traditional Chinese Medicine, not Traditional Chinese Medicine! Just as we have done in other fields.”

Kawashima Haruhiro answered, ”I understand. It is my honor to take part in such a war! Please rest assured, Teacher, I will defeat my opponent and make our Genji School the greatest and most preeminent of all the schools of Japanese Traditional Chinese Medicine!”

”Excellent.” This was precisely what Genji Doju wanted to hear from Kawashima Haruhiro. He then added, ”In the next two days, many famous practitioners of Japanese Traditional Chinese Medicine will be arriving in Huashang to lend you their support. You should also take these few days to focus and properly look after your body. Just look how haggard you’ve become. You’re not a young man anymore; how can you indulge yourself so excessively?”

Kawashima Haruhiro was mortified, but he didn’t dare refute his teacher’s words and could only mumble his assent.

However, Lingzi, who had put her veil back on and was standing to the side, heard Genji Doju’s words. A cold glint flashed in her alluring eyes, but it was gone in an instant, and no one noticed.

Over the next two days, Zhao Yuan reviewed many of Liu Lili’s medical records. The more he read, the more convinced he became that her illness was caused by a Ghost fighting her for control of her body. In the case files of Wu Peng, this condition was named ’Two Souls Usurping a Body’.

To others, this condition would be an incurable, terminal illness. But for Zhao Yuan, there was a solution, a method of treatment.

He was full of confidence for the upcoming competition!

In contrast to Zhao Yuan, Kawashima Haruhiro had been growing anxious these past few days.

He still hadn’t been able to find out who Zhao Yuan’s chosen patient was.

Not only was Zhao Yuan tight-lipped, but so were the people from West Hua Medical University. Kawashima Haruhiro had used every trick in the book, but he couldn’t get a single word out of anyone. This left him frustrated and gave Genji Doju and the other masters of Japanese Traditional Chinese Medicine, who had come all this way to help, little to do.

In the blink of an eye, two days passed, and the day of the second round between Zhao Yuan and Kawashima Haruhiro arrived.

This competition was scheduled to take place at the same hospital where the Auscultation contest had been held.

When the competition began, not only were all the experts and professors from the Chinese Medical Exchange Forum present, but also the masters of Japanese Traditional Chinese Medicine led by Genji Doju, as well as many doctors and medical students who had heard about the event and traveled from all over the country to watch.

There were even a great number of media reporters, as the competition had garnered significant attention. The majority of them were Japanese reporters, because over the past two days, the practitioners of Japanese Traditional Chinese Medicine had publicized the event to the point that it had already caused a huge stir in Japan.

Under these circumstances, when Zhao Yuan and the others arrived at the hospital for the competition, they were greeted by a lively and clamorous scene.

Zhao Yuan hadn’t expected these people to be there for him and was rather puzzled. ”What’s going on today? Why are there so many reporters? Is some big celebrity here for a check-up?”

”I haven’t heard anything,” Yang Jingbo said, shaking his head, equally confused.

As the two were talking, the reporters spotted Zhao Yuan’s arrival. Someone shouted, ”That’s Zhao Yuan!” and with a RUSH, they all swarmed forward, surrounding him and thrusting countless microphones and audio recorders in his face.

Only then did Zhao Yuan realize that all these reporters were here for today’s competition.

”Zhao Yuan, are you feeling a lot of pressure for this competition? Are you confident you can win?” a Chinese reporter asked.

Although it was his first time being interviewed, Zhao Yuan appeared quite calm. He replied, ”I don’t feel any pressure, and I’m confident I’ll win.”

Hearing this, the Japanese reporters immediately took offense.

The reporters sent to interview Zhao Yuan all spoke Chinese, so they naturally understood what he said.

A Japanese reporter immediately asked in a hostile tone, ”Lord Zhao, don’t you think that’s a rather arrogant thing to say?”

”Arrogant?” Zhao Yuan shook his head. ”You’re mistaken. It’s not arrogance, it’s confidence.”

The Japanese reporter pressed on, ”Mr. Kawashima is the bright moon of our Japanese medical world, with over forty years of clinical experience. But you, Lord Zhao, are just a first-year university student, not even twenty years old, yet you’re boasting that you’ll defeat Mr. Kawashima. If that’s not arrogance, what is?”

Zhao Yuan chuckled, speechless for a moment. ”Since you came to report on this, didn’t you do your homework? Are you not aware that I already defeated Kawashima Haruhiro once in the previous Auscultation competition?”

The Japanese reporter was quite embarrassed. Of course he knew about this; he just didn’t want to believe it.

Zhao Yuan sneered and continued, ”If I can beat Kawashima Haruhiro once, I can beat him a second time, and a third. That’s not arrogance, it’s confidence! And I’m not just boasting; I’m stating facts!”

The Japanese reporter’s mouth fell open, and he didn’t know what to say.

Zhao Yuan had indeed beaten Kawashima Haruhiro once. Calling him arrogant didn’t seem quite right.

Meanwhile, the Chinese reporters were cheering.

Zhao Yuan ignored the Japanese reporter and, with a smile, said to the Chinese reporters, ”My apologies, everyone, but the competition is about to start, so I’m going in. If you have any more questions, you can ask them after it’s over.”

He was then escorted by the group from West Hua Medical University past the reporters and spectators, and into the treatment room the hospital had prepared for him and Kawashima Haruhiro.

Kawashima Haruhiro, Genji Doju, and the others had already arrived before him.

When he saw Zhao Yuan enter, Kawashima Haruhiro’s eyes blazed with furious anger and soaring fighting spirit!
