Divine Level Witch Doctor

The vast Japanese-style courtyard was deathly silent. Even the cats, dogs, and birds had fallen quiet, as if stunned by the monstrous rage radiating from Genji Doju!

Kobayashi Haruo and his fellow disciples hung their heads. No one dared to make a sound, terrified that speaking up would bring disaster upon them!

The atmosphere was incredibly oppressive.

”This matter... what do you all think?” Genji Doju asked, his gaze sweeping over his disciples.

Still, no one spoke.

On one hand, they had no idea what to say. On the other, they were afraid of saying the wrong thing and getting caught in the crossfire of Genji Doju’s anger.

Seeing them play dead, Genji Doju’s fury intensified. He roared, ”Are you deaf or mute? I’m asking you a question!”

Under the circumstances, Kobayashi Haruo and the others didn’t dare continue their charade.

Someone immediately spoke up. ”Our eldest brother’s skill in Auscultation was honed through decades of arduous training. How old is this Zhao Yuan? Even if he’s a genius, how could he possibly master Inspection, Auscultation, *and* Palpation all at once? Plus, his accomplishments in Acupuncture and Prescription Medicine are also remarkably high. Even if he started studying medicine in the womb, there’s no way he could reach such a level before the age of twenty! That’s why I suspect Zhao Yuan cheated in this Auscultation contest!”

As soon as these words were spoken, they met with unanimous agreement from the others.

”Yes, yes, that’s what I was thinking too!”

”Our eldest brother’s Auscultation is ranked among the top ten in the entire Traditional Chinese Medicine Community. This Zhao Yuan is just a young punk. How could he possibly be better than him? He must have cheated!”

”Cheated?” Genji Doju raised an eyebrow. In his heart, he also found this speculation plausible.

Perhaps he was on the same wavelength as his teacher and fellow disciples, because far away in Huashang, the same thought popped into Kawashima Haruhiro’s head.

Like a drowning man, he latched onto this lifeline and shouted, ”I suspect Zhao Yuan cheated! Diagnosing ninety-one people in half an hour? Not even my teacher, Genji Doju, could achieve that!”

Zhao Yuan let out a ”pfft” of laughter and shook his head. ”You can’t do it because you lack the skill. But to assume that just because you can’t, no one else can... All I can say is, you guys are really too young! Ah, no, I misspoke. You’re not young anymore, so let’s change the phrase. You’re really so simple, so naive!”

Kawashima Haruhiro glared at Zhao Yuan, his eyes practically shooting flames. Far away in Japan, Genji Doju’s face turned ashen with fury. He roared in anger, ”How audacious! How arrogant! He dares to say I lack skill, dares to call me simple-minded! Unforgivable! Absolutely unforgivable!”

Kobayashi Haruo and his fellow disciples huddled together, trembling in fear, terrified that Genji Doju would vent his anger on them. At the same time, they were also furious. To them, Zhao Yuan insulting Genji Doju and Kawashima Haruhiro was the same as insulting them all!

Zhao Yuan had no idea that he had successfully enraged every single member of the Genji School.

He took out his phone and said, ”I figured you might have your suspicions, so I recorded the entire diagnostic process on my phone as soon as I entered the examination room. I’ll play it now so you can see for yourself whether I cheated or not!”

Kawashima Haruhiro had already tried to back out once before, so Zhao Yuan had been on his guard. He had started recording with his phone the moment he entered the room, just in case he needed evidence to settle a dispute.

Although one of Kawashima Haruhiro’s own disciples had been in the room to supervise, he was on the other side; it would be a miracle if he spoke up for Zhao Yuan! He had to be fully prepared himself.

As it turned out, his caution had not been unnecessary.

Zhao Yuan was about to play the video, but with so many people in the crowd all wanting to see, it was inconvenient for them to huddle around a small phone. The hospital administrator hurriedly brought over a projector, connected it to the phone, and displayed the video on a white wall in the Traditional Chinese Medicine department’s corridor.

The video was clear. It began the moment Zhao Yuan entered the examination room, and the angle was perfect, capturing the entire room’s interior.

In the video, Zhao Yuan entered the room, drew the curtain, and sat down at the desk.

He didn’t face the curtain. Instead, he turned his back completely and faced the bare wall behind him. Throughout the entire diagnostic process, he never once looked back. And unlike Kawashima Haruhiro, he didn’t ask the patients to cough or make any sounds for him to listen to. The moment each patient entered the room, he stated their condition. The speed and accuracy were simply dumbfounding!

What was most outrageous was that by the twenty-five-minute mark, Zhao Yuan had already finished diagnosing all ninety-one people! After that, no new patients entered his room.

Seeing this, the hospital administrator wiped the sweat from his brow and explained, ”Here’s what happened. We only found ninety-one patients to participate in this competition. We thought ninety-one would be more than enough, but we never expected Mr. Zhao to be so incredible. He finished diagnosing all ninety-one patients in just twenty-five minutes, and every single one was correct...”

So that was it.

The crowd finally understood why no more patients had appeared in Zhao Yuan’s room after the twenty-five-minute mark. This kid had finished all the questions early and turned in his test!

Someone immediately burst into laughter and exclaimed, ”Kawashima Haruhiro diagnosed sixty-seven people in half an hour because that’s the limit of his Auscultation skill. But Zhao Yuan diagnosed ninety-one people because there were only ninety-one patients. Tsk, tsk. That’s some next-level flexing. So damn slick!”

Ma Guotao was in an excellent mood, not just because Zhao Yuan had won, but because Zhao Yuan had been smart enough to prepare irrefutable evidence, making it impossible for Kawashima Haruhiro to go back on his word.

He chuckled and patted the hospital administrator’s shoulder. ”Dean Sun, you can’t be blamed for this. Who could have imagined that someone could diagnose ninety-one patients in under half an hour? After all, some people diagnose sixty-odd patients in half an hour and get all smug, thinking they’re hot stuff!”

Hearing this, Kawashima Haruhiro’s face flushed, but he had no way to retort.

Although Zhao Yuan had already diagnosed all the patients, the video continued to play. On the screen, he picked up the pen and paper on the desk and began to write furiously.

”Zhao Yuan, what are you doing?” Xiao Xianlin asked, voicing the crowd’s curiosity.

”I saw I still had plenty of time, so I wrote a prescription for each of the patients based on their conditions,” Zhao Yuan said as he held up the prescription slips and handed them out one by one.

Everyone was speechless.

’In half an hour, not only did you diagnose ninety-one people, but you also wrote out all their treatments?’

’Holy crap! Do you have to be such a monster?’
