”Time’s up! Stop the auscultation!”

With a loud shout from Qiao Zhixue, the auscultation competition officially ended.

Kawashima Haruhiro stood up, puffed out his chest, and walked out of the examination room, his face filled with pride and smugness.

He had every reason to be proud and smug. Although he hadn’t kept a precise count, he was certain he had diagnosed no fewer than fifty patients in the last half hour!

Auscultation was unlike other diagnostic methods. You couldn’t see the patient, ask them questions, or even look at their lab reports. You had to rely entirely on your nose and ears. The difficulty was immense.

Kawashima Haruhiro knew that diagnosing so many patients in half an hour was an excellent... no, it was a perfect performance!

’As for Zhao Yuan? Even if he has some skill in auscultation, there’s no way he could reach my numbers!’

At that moment, Kawashima Haruhiro was brimming with confidence. He was sure he had won!

In the other examination room, Zhao Yuan also got up and walked out. On his way, he made sure to nod in thanks to the patients who had participated in the competition. His gesture was returned by the patients, and their favor toward him instantly skyrocketed.

Kawashima Haruhiro saw this and couldn’t help but snort coldly, thinking, ’What’s the use of sucking up to these patients? They’re not the ones deciding the winner of this competition!’

The two men stood together. The medical experts who had been waiting outside for the results all came in and formed a circle around them, awaiting the announcement.

Qiao Zhixue was also anxious for the results, so he cut to the chase and asked Yang Jingbo, ”Old Yang, what is Mr. Kawashima’s final tally?”

Besides supervising Kawashima Haruhiro to ensure he didn’t cheat, Yang Jingbo was also responsible for tallying his numbers. He picked up his small notebook, glanced at it, and answered, ”He diagnosed a total of sixty-seven people.”

The smile and smug expression on Kawashima Haruhiro’s face grew even wider.

Sixty-seven people! That was even more than he had estimated! It was basically two people a minute. This speed and accuracy made Kawashima Haruhiro immensely proud and solidified his confidence in his victory!

Upon hearing this number, the medical experts present were all stunned and began to exclaim in shock:

”Sixty-seven people diagnosed in half an hour? Using only auscultation? My God, how on earth did he do that?”

”His skill in auscultation is just too incredible! You have to respect it!”

”I’ve also studied auscultation, but I can’t compare to Kawashima!”

”It’s over, it’s over. Kawashima diagnosed so many people in half an hour. Zhao Yuan is done for!”

At this moment, even the people from West Hua Medical University, who had the most faith in Zhao Yuan, couldn’t help but have their doubts. They felt his chances of winning were slim. Kawashima Haruhiro’s score was simply too astonishing, too brilliant!

In the livestream chat, the Japanese netizens were already starting to celebrate their victory.

”Mr. Kawashima is amazing! Diagnosing sixty-seven people in half an hour just by smelling and listening—it’s practically a god-like skill!”

”Look at all those Chinese people! They’re all dumbfounded by Mr. Kawashima’s performance!”

”Haha, you foolish Chinese! Now you know the power of our Traditional Chinese Medicine, don’t you? You want to defeat us? Not a chance!”

”Mr. Kawashima has definitely won! There’s no doubt about it!”

”Long live Mr. Kawashima! I’m a cute high school girl, and I want to have your babies!”

Even Genji Doju couldn’t hide his joy at this moment and burst out laughing. ”Kawashima performed well. Sixty-seven people diagnosed in half an hour. With this level of skill in auscultation, he’s easily in the top ten of the entire Traditional Chinese Medicine Community!”

Seeing him so happy, Kobayashi Haruo and his fellow disciples quickly chimed in.

”Master, our senior brother is sure to win this time!”

”The Genji School will definitely make a huge name for itself in both China and Japan this time!”

”Congratulations, Senior Brother! And congratulations to you, Master!”

Genji Doju also believed Kawashima Haruhiro’s score guaranteed victory, but he still put on a false show of humility, stroking his beard and saying, ”Now, now, we can’t say that. After all, Zhao Yuan’s score isn’t out yet. What if the number of people he diagnosed is higher than Kawashima’s?”

Even though it was their master speaking, Kobayashi Haruo and his fellow disciples couldn’t help but laugh, waving their hands dismissively. ”How is that even possible?”

Just then, Qiao Zhixue’s voice came from the computer: ”Mr. Matsuki, what is Zhao Yuan’s final tally?”

Everyone instantly fell silent, turning their heads in unison toward the computer, waiting for Zhao Yuan’s score to be announced.

Kawashima Haruhiro’s disciple, Matsuki Kenta, glanced at the results tallied in his notebook. His expression turned ugly as he stammered, ”Well...”

Matsuki Kenta’s reaction sent a sudden jolt of unease and dread through the hearts of Kawashima Haruhiro and Genji Doju. They were all wondering, ’Could Zhao Yuan’s score be better? Impossible! That’s absolutely impossible!’

An impatient Kawashima Haruhiro roared at Matsuki Kenta, ”Stop stammering! Hurry up and say it! What’s the number?”

With a long face, Matsuki Kenta announced Zhao Yuan’s score: ”Total number diagnosed... ninety-one!”

”What?” Kawashima Haruhiro was utterly horrified. He couldn’t believe the number he had just heard.

”How many?” The group of Chinese medical experts were equally incredulous.

Matsuki Kenta was terrified by their reactions and repeated the number, trembling, ”Ninety-one people!”

Once they were certain they hadn’t misheard, the Chinese medical experts burst into cheers.

”Zhao Yuan actually diagnosed ninety-one people! That’s freaking amazing!”

”HAHAHA! When I heard Kawashima’s score, I was sure Zhao Yuan had lost. But then he turned around and hit me with a resounding slap. But you know what? I’m happy to take that slap! Delighted, even! Ninety-one patients diagnosed in half an hour through auscultation... that score is just too incredible! I really can’t think of anyone other than Zhao Yuan who could achieve such a result!”

”Did you see how smug Kawashima was just now? I bet he was absolutely certain he had won. And the result? Zhao Yuan’s score is a full twenty-four people higher than his! You want to see what a complete rout looks like? This is it! You want to see a total victory? This is it!”

”Zhao Yuan is a badass!”

In contrast to the passionately celebrating Chinese medical experts, Kawashima Haruhiro was stunned by the result. He just stood there foolishly, as if he had been turned to stone.

The livestream chat exploded into an uproar. The Japanese netizens never imagined that a sure-win situation could be turned around like this!

This feeling was simply the worst!

Genji Doju was so furious that he threw the master-crafted teacup in his hand. It shattered with a CRASH. He roared out what many were thinking: ”How the fuck could we lose this?!”
