Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1541: Chapter 781: Bottleneck_3

After speaking, Wen Bing walked out.

Yu Zhiyang stood there, somewhat at a loss with his hands hanging down.

Seeing this, Zhou Yun called him over.

”Didn’t you get into character just now?” Zhou Yun asked.

Yu Zhiyang just shook his head.

”Hmm.”

While Yu Zhiyang was acting earlier, Zhou Yun was lying on the bed, eyes closed, not seeing how Yu Zhiyang performed, so she didn’t know why Wen Bing was angry.

Zhou Yun said, ”Don’t worry, take a moment to collect yourself, I’ll go check on Wen Bing.”

She got out of bed, put on her shoes, walked out, and found Wen Bing by the fish pond outside.

He had his hands in his pockets, staring blankly at the pond’s surface.

Zhou Yun walked over and stood beside him.

”What happened just now? Couldn’t control your temper?”

Wen Bing sighed and said, ”It’s my own state that’s the issue.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Yu Zhiyang is probably very nervous now.”

”I’ll go talk to him later.”

”Is there anything I can help you with?”

”No, it’s my personal matter,” Wen Bing said. ”I just need some time alone.”

”Alright.”

Zhou Yun nodded and walked away.

...

”Little Yu, have some water.”

Wang Zilin handed a cup of water to Yu Zhiyang.

Yu Zhiyang didn’t have an assistant, so since joining the cast, he was on his own, and Wang Zilin had to take extra care of him.

There were only two resident actors in the group, him and Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun had Liu Yun with her, while Yu Zhiyang was on his own mingling with everyone, not at all like a celebrity.

Wang Zilin knew Yu Zhiyang had been scolded by Wen Bing, and seeing him sitting alone with his head down in the corner, she came over to play the ”understanding big sister,” helping Yu Zhiyang recover from his low mood.

Being the life manager on set, in a sense, meant being the housekeeper for this bunch, managing everything and showing up wherever needed.

”The director isn’t in a good mood today. Before you started filming earlier, he locked himself up for several hours. Don’t take it to heart.”

Yu Zhiyang said, ”I really didn’t get into character earlier.”

He sounded dejected.

Wang Zilin asked, ”What happened? I’ve seen you nailing it in acting before, why didn’t you get into character today?”

Yu Zhiyang shook his head, saying, ”I don’t know either.”

Wang Zilin said, ”It’s nothing unusual. Many actors can’t find their rhythm, and there’s nothing much you can do about it. When that happens, you just have to slowly work through it.”

Yu Zhiyang said, ”Sister Zilin, I’m going to work hard to overcome it.”

Wang Zilin patted Yu Zhiyang’s head and said, ”I believe in you, you can do it.”

...

Ten minutes later, Wen Bing returned.

They continued shooting.

Yu Zhiyang also worked hard to adjust his state, but Wen Bing remained dissatisfied.

However, Wen Bing didn’t lose his temper again; he just kept calling cut, pulling Yu Zhiyang aside to explain repeatedly what wasn’t satisfactory about the previous takes.

Zhou Yun lay on the bed for an hour and a half, eventually falling asleep and taking a nap. When she woke up, Yu Zhiyang’s shots still weren’t completed.

Yu Zhiyang’s eyes were glazed over, his face looking worn out as if struck by frost.

Looking at Wen Bing, Zhou Yun saw him sitting calmly behind the monitor, without a hint of impatience.

”Awake from your nap?” Wen Bing teased her when he saw her.

Zhou Yun said, ”You’re quite something, tormenting him for so long.”

Wen Bing said, ”That kid can’t settle his mind, so we’ll just have to work through it slowly. This scene is important, can’t be careless. If it can’t be finished today, we’ll continue tomorrow.”

Seeing Wen Bing say that, Zhou Yun had nothing more to say.

With Yu Zhiyang unable to get into character, Zhou Yun could only stay and work through it with him.

Eventually, Yu Zhiyang became restless himself, his eyes reddened. He scratched his head and painfully told Wen Bing, ”I don’t know how to act anymore.”

Hearing this, Wen Bing could only say, ”Let’s take another ten-minute break.”

Yu Zhiyang complained, ”Even another ten minutes won’t help.”

Wen Bing: ”Why?”

Yu Zhiyang said, ”I don’t know; I feel like I’ve put all my effort into acting, but nothing seems right. I don’t know what the right way is. I don’t know what to do.”

Wen Bing said, ”What do you mean by that? Are you giving up acting?”

”I’m not giving up; it’s that I don’t know how to act anymore,” Yu Zhiyang said, with a hint of frustration and resistance in his tone.
