Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1525: Chapter 773: Going Down the River (Part 2)

Chen Zhuo didn’t hesitate, nodded, and said, ”I want to.”

Zhou Yun looked at him in surprise and said, ”Maybe after the film is released, your life will change a lot; your classmates’ attitudes towards you at school might change too.”

Chen Zhuo nodded.

”Not all changes are necessarily good.”

Chen Zhuo: ”I know, but it doesn’t matter. My mom said if we agree to make this film, we can get twenty thousand yuan.”

Zhou Yun was stunned.

Chen Zhuo said: ”This way my family won’t have to scrape together the tuition for high school anymore.”

At that moment, a wave of indescribable bitterness surged in Zhou Yun’s heart.

From Song Chi to Wen Bing, they’ve all said a lot, but none of it compared to what Chen Zhuo just said.

While Zhou Yun was worried here that filming might affect Chen Zhuo’s normal life, Chen Zhuo was considering using the payment from the film to cover his high school tuition.

Zhou Yun thought, has her comfortable life over the past few years led her to ask, ”Why not eat minced meat?”

Zhou Yun patted Chen Zhuo’s shoulder, saying, ”Well, that’s great. At such a young age, you can pay for your tuition by yourself. That’s impressive.”

Chen Zhuo glanced at her strangely.

Zhou Yun wondered, did she say something wrong again?

Chen Zhuo said: ”Aunt Xiao Yun, I’m heading back.”

”Okay, bye.”

Once he left, Wen Bing’s voice suddenly sounded from behind her.

”Finished talking with him?”

”Pretty much,” Zhou Yun turned around, ”Oh, I’ve really been affected today. I truly... have been away from real life for too long.”

Wen Bing heard this and laughed.

”It’s not that dire.”

”Really, I’m the typical ’I care about you on the surface, but actually don’t know what you truly need,’ type,” Zhou Yun was genuinely a bit annoyed with herself.

Was she well-intentioned?

Yes.

Was she truly worried about Chen Zhuo and Xiuxiu?

Yes.

But if she insisted on her own idea and directly refused these two kids to act in the film, would she be blocking their chance to change their lives?

Even if it’s not about changing their lives, it could be a chance to enrich them.

Wen Bing knew about Zhou Yun’s high standards.

Wen Bing patted Zhou Yun’s shoulder, saying, ”Don’t think too much about it. You’ve lived with Xiuxiu’s family closely for so long, so it’s normal to care more and feel emotional. Plus, what you said makes sense. Really, trust me, sign these two kids up. Not to push them down the child star path, but you can guide and protect them. Honestly, I’ll feel reassured too.”

Because of Wen Bing’s words, Zhou Yun went and called Zhou Lan.

After listening to her, Zhou Lan thought for a moment, then said, ”I understand. No rush on this matter. I’ll make time to come over in the next couple of days and talk to their family personally.”

Zhou Yun agreed with a hum.

”If their family is indeed struggling, signing them to our studio and arranging a couple of roles during summer and winter holidays or on weekends for them to earn some money would be a good thing,” Zhou Lan said, ”Don’t worry, I get your point.”

After Zhou Lan said this, Zhou Yun felt relieved.

At noon, Zhou Yun joined everyone for lunch at Xiuxiu’s house.

Chen Zhuo was busy helping serve dishes and set the table.

After everyone had mostly finished eating, Chen Zhuo brought the vegetables to each table.

Zhou Yun originally wanted to invite him to sit next to her, but Chen Zhuo turned and went into the kitchen instead.

Zhou Yun looked in and saw Chen Zhuo sitting on a stool with a bowl, eating intently.

Hearing someone come in, Chen Zhuo looked up, saw Zhou Yun, froze for a moment, then stood up, placed the bowl on the stove, and asked, ”Aunt Xiao Yun, are you looking for something?”

His pupils were very black and bright, giving his eyes a sense of depth.

Zhou Yun was momentarily stunned.

She was dazed for a second before coming back to her senses.

”Nothing, I just wanted to see why you weren’t out eating.”

Chen Zhuo awkwardly said, ”I-I was eating inside.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Why? Not happy to eat with me?”

Chen Zhuo immediately shook his head, ”N-No.”

”If not, come out. I wanted to chat while eating,” Zhou Yun smiled and said, ”I know your sister well, but I don’t know much about you. We’ll be acting together in the next couple of days.”
