Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1523: Chapter 772: Decision_4

Xiuxiu’s mother hesitated and twisted her hands.

...

For an ordinary family, becoming an actor seems too far removed from everyday life, like something from another planet.

Zhou Yun was also nervous, unsure if Xiuxiu’s mother would agree.

Xiuxiu’s mother said she needed to think it over.

Actor.

This profession looks so glamorous.

However, not everyone can wear this profession’s clothes glamorously and effortlessly for long.

Some people put it on and can’t bear the scrutiny, so they hurriedly take it off.

That’s very normal.

Everything is quite normal.

Because of this, Zhou Yun didn’t sleep well that night.

In the dead of night, she suddenly thought of something she hadn’t before: if they really led Xiuxiu and Chen Zhuo down the path of acting, would it be good for them?

Both are still children.

And they’re just kids from a rural family—it’s harsh to say, but it’s the truth that they don’t have enough resources to support two kids in pursuing acting dreams.

Zhou Yun thought about it late into the night, tossing and turning and unable to sleep.

She sat up and messaged Song Chi: Are you awake?

Song Chi replied instantly: Still on set, what’s up?

Zhou Yun: I want to give you a call.

A few seconds later, the call came through.

”What’s wrong?”

Zhou Yun told Song Chi about what she’d been pondering all night.

”I just don’t know what to do now.”

Song Chi said, ”You’re worried about changing their lives?”

Zhou Yun said, ”You know Wen Bing’s movie, no matter what, will definitely attract a lot of attention. Those two... might get a lot of attention, too. But they’re in the countryside and don’t really have the means to prevent certain things. What if lots of paparazzi disturb their lives?”

Song Chi said, ”By your logic, actually a lot of kids shouldn’t become actors.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Many have the means to start acting and become child stars when they’re young. Their families are well off, unlike Xiuxiu’s family...”

Song Chi said, ”Stop, stop, stop, hold on.”

”Huh?”

”You’re overthinking it.”

”Huh?”

”These things, you should tell Xiuxiu’s family and let them decide, instead of you overthinking it here,” Song Chi said. ”Besides, since you also said they’re still kids, what’s wrong with letting them have more options while growing up? It’s not like they have to decide now if they’ll be actors for life. So what if they become famous and known by everyone? Will being somewhat more noticed affect their schooling? Are they idols or something, always being chased by people?”

As Song Chi spoke rapidly, Zhou Yun realized she had no response.

”You actually know everything I’m telling you; you’re just afraid of making decisions for others.” Song Chi ultimately said, ”But this decision isn’t for you to make; it’s for them to make.”

Zhou Yun hung up the phone and lay in bed, staring at the pitch-black ceiling, thinking, Song Chi is right.

Early the next day.

As usual, at five o’clock, people came to lay tracks, set up equipment, and adjust the lighting.

Zhou Yun was so tired she couldn’t open her eyes. Despite the busy surroundings, she didn’t want to open her eyes.

Liu Yun moistened a tissue to wet her lips.

It wasn’t until it was time to film her waking up that she groggily opened her eyes.
