Chapter 1524: Chapter 773: Down to the River

Around ten in the morning.

Zhou Yun finished shooting the scenes of loosening soil and watering in the vegetable garden, squatting on the ground, and turned around to look across the fishpond.

The layout here is like this.

Between the vegetable garden and the house, there’s an open area and a small fishpond.

So, when Zhou Yun squats in the vegetable garden, she can see the open area and the house on the other side.

Wen Bing and the others are all in the open area.

”Is it okay now?” Zhou Yun asked.

Wen Bing: ”Yes.”

Zhou Yun stood up, supporting her back with the hand not holding the hoe, and exhaled deeply.

Her back ached.

She had squatted for too long.

Zhou Yun came out of the vegetable garden and walked up to Wen Bing.

”How was it?” she asked.

Wen Bing said: ”Pretty good.”

Anyway, he always said just one or two words.

Zhou Yun rolled her eyes.

”Filming all morning, and all I get from you are those two words, it’s such an unfulfilling feeling.” Zhou Yun said.

Wen Bing chuckled a bit.

”Where’s Sister Zilin?”

”She went with Xiuxiu’s mom to discuss the contract.” Wen Bing said.

Zhou Yun nodded, ”Did their family agree?”

”They agreed.”

”How much are you planning to pay them?” Zhou Yun asked.

Wen Bing said: ”Do you need to know everything?”

”Can’t let the kids be at a disadvantage, right?” Zhou Yun sighed, then told Wen Bing about how she was tossing and turning, unable to sleep last night, ”I’m just worried that we’re putting them at a disadvantage.”

Wen Bing glanced sideways at Zhou Yun.

”Out there, so many people are eager for this opportunity, but to you, it’s putting them at a disadvantage. Look, Chen Zhuo went to the city for school, didn’t he? Everyone is trying hard to shape themselves in a better environment, and he’s just a kid, studying alone outside, do you think Xiuxiu’s mom is comfortable letting such a young boy study alone? But people always strive for better things.” Wen Bing said, ”If you’re so worried about the two kids, aren’t you running your own studio now? You could sign them as their agent, and keep an eye out for them.”

Zhou Yun: ”What the hell?”

Wen Bing: ”Why not?”

He said: ”I actually think it’s a great idea.”

Zhou Yun said: ”But...”

”They will definitely get some attention from this movie, whether they pursue acting afterward or not, if some job opportunities come by, wouldn’t it be better if you oversee them instead of someone else?”

Zhou Yun: ”I just don’t want to disturb their normal lives.”

”What kind of life is normal?” Wen Bing suddenly asked.

Zhou Yun was startled.

Wen Bing asked: ”Just growing up safely in one place, is that normal? If so, why do people always want to move to a better environment?”

He said: ”No one’s life stays the same, we’re not forcing them to make choices.”

Zhou Yun suddenly understood.

...

Around eleven in the morning, Chen Zhuo returned.

Yi Zhe and a few others from the camera crew were setting up equipment, they’d soon shoot her making lunch.

Zhou Yun noticed Chen Zhuo glancing around as if he was looking for them.

She stepped out and waved to Chen Zhuo from afar, saying: ”Xiao Zhuo, come over, we’re not filming yet.”

Only then did Chen Zhuo come over.

He stood in front of Zhou Yun, somewhat reserved.

Zhou Yun said: ”Are you looking for us?”

Chen Zhuo hesitated before speaking, asking: ”I, I wanted to ask if we’re going at noon?”

”Yes, of course.” Zhou Yun nodded with a smile, ”Of course we’re going. By the way, where’s Xiuxiu? She’s in school today, right?”

”She’s going to wait for us by the river at noon.” Chen Zhuo said, ”Then, then I’ll come find you after lunch.”

Zhou Yun saw Chen Zhuo still looking a bit reserved, too shy to speak.

”Wait a minute.”

Zhou Yun called out to him.

Chen Zhuo looked up, puzzled, at Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun said: ”Later, when we catch crabs, someone will be filming, you know that, right?”

Chen Zhuo awkwardly ran his fingers through his hair, nodded, and said: ”I know.”

Zhou Yun asked: ”So, do you want to act?”

Chen Zhuo looked down at the ground, hesitating for a moment, then said: ”I don’t know.”

”Do you watch movies?”

”I’ve seen a few, not many.” Chen Zhuo said, ”We don’t have a cinema here, only in the school area.”

Zhou Yun asked: ”Then... Have you discussed it with your mom? Would you like to appear in this movie?”
