Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1507: Chapter 678: Accident (9,300 Words!) (Part 3)

...

Zhou Yun was preparing for the official shoot that was about to begin, spending every day helping Xiuxiu and her mom with farm work, when suddenly a guest arrived.

Someone came looking for her.

The person was brought by Zheng Xiaojue.

Zhou Yun hadn’t seen Zheng Xiaojue for a long time and noticed this young girl had brighter eyes and a slightly more elegant demeanor than before.

The guest was Liu Ziyang from Yuehai.

The deputy director from Yuehai with whom she collaborated on ”Deep Sea.”

Zheng Xiaojue brought Liu Ziyang to a vegetable garden to find Zhou Yun.

Liu Ziyang looked at his shoes, now covered in mud from the dirt path, and felt a pang of distress.

They cost several thousand, you know.

Seeing Zhou Yun, he was even more astonished.

She was genuinely bent over, picking chili peppers.

”Ah, you’re here,” Zhou Yun straightened up, saw them, smiled, and said, ”Wait a moment, I’ll be done soon.”

Zheng Xiaojue already had her phone out, saying, ”Sister Xiao Yun, you’re really good at this now.”

”Of course, I do it every day,” Zhou Yun replied, ”but it’s hard on the waist, it’s sore and painful.”

Upon hearing this, Zheng Xiaojue asked, ”Do you want me to get some ointment for you?”

Zhou Yun: ”Sure.”

Half an hour later, Zhou Yun brewed a pot of tea in her courtyard and invited them to drink.

”Try it; this was made by my neighbor, and it’s different from what you find outside.”

”Oh, it’s quite fragrant,” Liu Ziyang said after taking a sip.

Zhou Yun asked, ”Director Liu, what brings you to see me today?”

Liu Ziyang said, ”I’ve been wanting to see you, but we’ve never been able to schedule a time. I couldn’t wait any longer, so I came here to find you. Do you remember the ’One Day’ project I mentioned before?”

Zhou Yun nodded, ”I remember.”

It was another project Liu Ziyang brought after their collaboration on ”Deep Sea.”

The original work was a Gold City Literary Award winner.

Liu Ziyang said, ”The first draft of the script is now done, and I’ve brought it to you right away.”

He brought a canvas bag, thoughtfully labeled with the words ”Flower City.”

Zhou Yun said, ”Great, I’ll read the script first.”

Liu Ziyang nodded.

”There’s something else,” Liu Ziyang added, ”We initially wanted Director Kang Xin for this project, as he is experienced with stories set in a cultural and historical background, but he declined, saying he’s too busy with other projects. I was hoping you could persuade him for us; you’re close with him and have collaborated twice before. Your persuasion would be much more effective than us doing it.”

Zhou Yun was taken aback, thought for a moment, and said, ”I’m actually not in a position to persuade him, Director Liu. Even if I end up starring in this film, if Director Kang has his own plans, I can’t ask him to direct.”

Liu Ziyang said, ”If you’re the lead, Director Kang will definitely want to direct it.”

Zhou Yun didn’t respond to this.

Even if Director Kang Xin wanted to direct because she was starring, it’s not something she wanted to pursue at this moment.

She’ll consider it once she’s decided to act in the film.

Zhou Yun told Liu Ziyang, ”Director Liu, let’s discuss this later. I can’t film this in the next six months; I have other commitments. When the formal preparation for the movie begins, we’ll revisit the matter.”

Liu Ziyang saw Zhou Yun didn’t respond and felt helpless.

Of course, he knew that Zhou Yun was deliberately avoiding the topic.

But what could he do?

Currently, Yuehai needs Zhou Yun more than Zhou Yun needs Yuehai.

The success of ”Deep Sea” wasn’t just the success of a series.

This show achieved a small international acclaim, helping Yuehai to connect with many international networks through it.

Moreover, when discussing social influence and international impact, Yuehai could genuinely present this show as part of its achievements and received much support because of it.

”Deep Sea” was a truly internationally successful Chinese-language series.

Due to its success, Yuehai wanted to create a sequel.

But Zhou Yun’s side has been holding off; they need to read the script first, and it has to be satisfactory before committing.

Liu Ziyang’s main task today was to deliver the script’s first draft.

Everything else was secondary, and it wasn’t a big deal if it wasn’t accomplished—after all, Liu Ziyang knew from the beginning these extras probably wouldn’t get done; it wasn’t his first day dealing with Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun suddenly thought of something.
