Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1533: Chapter 776: Rain, Youth

The rain was drizzling down.

The autumn rain in the mountains carried a hint of chill.

Zhou Yun sat under the eaves, feeling rather cold.

Luckily, she had a small stove here for warmth.

After Yu Zhiyang started filming over there, Zhou Yun basically had nothing to do on this side.

Actually, she didn’t have to sit outside at this moment.

Because the camera was filming a close-up of Yu Zhiyang, not capturing her.

But Zhou Yun wanted to perform alongside Yu Zhiyang.

The scene was about Yu Zhiyang secretly watching Zhou Yun from outside.

With the rain pouring and it being autumn, everyone was afraid the actors would catch a cold or fever, which would be disastrous.

Wen Bing and Yi Zhe discussed filming quickly, but in the end, Yu Zhiyang still shot for nearly over half an hour in the rain.

Wang Zilin had ginger soup, clean clothes, and blankets prepared early on.

The next scene was Zhou Yun discovering Yu Zhiyang and calling him inside.

Yu Zhiyang drank a bowl of ginger soup, wrapped himself in a blanket for a while, waiting for the next scene.

Wang Zilin said: ”It’ll be a while before they’re ready, you should go inside and change out of the wet clothes, then put them back on when filming starts, or you’ll definitely catch a cold wearing those wet clothes.”

Yu Zhiyang pretended to be tough, saying: ”I’m fine.”

The next second, Zhou Yun looked over.

”What are you standing there for? Why aren’t you going to change into dry clothes?” Her voice was quite loud.

Yu Zhiyang went off to change.

Wang Zilin: ”...”

Well, when it comes to Yu Zhiyang, no one’s words are as effective as Zhou Yun’s.

After drying himself and changing clothes, Yu Zhiyang immediately sneezed.

It happened right when he came out of the room.

Zhou Yun heard it and glanced back at Yu Zhiyang.

Yu Zhiyang suddenly scratched his head with embarrassment.

Zhou Yun said: ”Come warm up by the fire.”

Only then did Yu Zhiyang step out and sit down on the small stool beside Zhou Yun.

With his tall stature and long legs, Yu Zhiyang looked a bit awkward.

Zhou Yun glanced at him as he kept fiddling with his ear, seemingly trying to get the water out, occasionally tilting his head.

She didn’t want to mention it, but she thought Yu Zhiyang seemed a bit like a clumsy dog.

After ten minutes, Wen Bing finally got things ready, and Yu Zhiyang was asked to change back into his wet clothes, starting the scene between the two.

”Ready the clapper board, Action!”

The camera was focusing on Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun seemed to have heard something, she turned and looked to her left.

Over there, Yu Zhiyang had retracted his head.

But Zhou Yun had already noticed him.

There was a flicker of doubt in Zhou Yun’s eyes, and then she understood.

She said: ”Don’t hide, I saw you.”

No response.

Only the sound of the drizzling rain.

Everyone was used to maintaining quiet on set during their performances.

Especially when Zhou Yun was acting.

Zhou Yun paused for a moment, then said: ”With such heavy rain, do I really have to drag you out?”

After saying this, Yu Zhiyang cautiously revealed his head.

”Come over.” Zhou Yun saw Yu Zhiyang was soaked, and said.

Yu Zhiyang walked over and came under the eaves.

A circle of water was wet around his feet.

Zhou Yun looked at him, slightly frowned, and said: ”Come inside.”

Zhou Yun led Yu Zhiyang into the house.

”Alright, cut!”

As soon as Wen Bing called it, Liu Yun immediately brought a blanket to cover Yu Zhiyang.

They both walked out and asked: ”Is that okay?”

Wen Bing turned to Yu Zhiyang and asked: ”How do you feel?”

Yu Zhiyang said: ”It’s alright.”

Wen Bing: ”Let’s do another take.”

Yu Zhiyang nodded.

He pulled the blanket off resolutely and handed it back to Liu Yun.

The ground under the eaves was already wet from Yu Zhiyang.

But Wen Bing wasn’t planning to shoot a wide shot.

The eye contact acting between Zhou Yun and Yu Zhiyang wasn’t very satisfying.

It went too fast.

Wen Bing told Zhou Yun: ”Don’t subconsciously rush to let him change clothes just because he’s soaking wet; it’s a bit rushed. In the story, he’s a stranger; letting him change clothes so quickly isn’t reasonable.”

Zhou Yun understood and nodded.

”I got it.”

...

The filming progressed steadily.

Once they finally finished the scene, Yu Zhiyang went and took off his coat, changed into dry clothes, and came out.

Shooting moved indoors.

Zhou Yun had already moved the stove inside.

His wet clothes were placed beside the stove to dry.

Zhou Yun saw him wearing familiar clothes as he walked out, paused, and got distracted.

In the story, they were the clothes of her deceased boyfriend.

She kept them by her side.

Yu Zhiyang hesitated as he approached, asking: ”Whose clothes are these?”

Zhou Yun didn’t answer directly, simply said: ”They’re clean, sit down.”

Yu Zhiyang went over and sat down.

She watched him.

He watched her.

The two remained silent for a long time, neither speaking up.

It was Zhou Yun who broke the silence first.

”Why are you following me?”

Yu Zhiyang shook his head, saying: ”I, I’m not following you.”

”I’ve caught you red-handed, don’t try to hide it,” Zhou Yun said calmly.

Yu Zhiyang flushed red, quietly lowering his head.

Zhou Yun picked up the teapot, poured Yu Zhiyang a cup of tea, and placed it before him.

”Thank you.”

”What’s your name?” Zhou Yun asked.

Yu Zhiyang scratched his ear, looked up at Zhou Yun, then quickly looked down again.

”Song Yang.”

”How old are you?”

”Seventeen.”

”Are you in high school?”

”Uh-huh.”

”Where do you study?”

”At the high school in our county.”

”Why aren’t you at school today?”

”I’m on leave.”

”Why did you take leave?”

”There was some trouble at home.”

”And yet you’re always out and about?”

”...I was just curious about who you are.”

”Little rascal.”

”I’m not a rascal.”

”Weren’t you the one spying on me while I was swimming last time?”

”I was just passing by!” Yu Zhiyang’s emotions finally stirred a bit, proving his innocence.

Zhou Yun faintly smiled.

Yu Zhiyang stared seriously with wide eyes, saying: ”I really was just passing by, I wasn’t lying to you.”

Zhou Yun took a sip of tea without replying.

After another silence, Wen Bing called cut.

Many directors like using long takes.

But Wen Bing was not particularly fond of them, unless he wanted to express something special.

Conversely, Wen Bing switched shooting angles frequently, which made the production cost of his films higher than typical movies.

Some shots, other movies might require shooting three or four times, but for Wen Bing it would be seven or eight times.

Wen Bing approached Yu Zhiyang, saying: ”When facing Xiao Yun, be more subtle with that wooden and uneasy feeling; towards the end of the scene, it felt a bit rushed.”

Yu Zhiyang nodded.

Wen Bing then told Zhou Yun: ”You were too calm.”

Zhou Yun: ”Didn’t let it out, right?”

”Yeah,” Wen Bing replied, ”You held back too much, it doesn’t suit someone of your age.”

Zhou Yun nodded, indicating she understood.

She had someone buried in her heart.

Upon seeing Song Yang, the young man, her heart was far from as calm as her exterior portrayed.

According to the script, Zhou Yun sees her deceased boyfriend’s shadow in Song Yang.

Of course, this point is not explicitly stated in the film, but Zhou Yun is to nurture emotions based on this setup.

The two continued to act until almost noon, when Zhou Yun glanced at the time and said: ”It’s time to prepare lunch.”

She touched Yu Zhiyang’s drying clothes, asking: ”Are you staying for lunch?”

Yu Zhiyang looked at Zhou Yun, eyes bright, feeling honored.

”Okay.” he replied.
