Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1642: Chapter 1642 Learned a New Word

Jiang Yichun’s expression was somewhat conflicted, carefully weighing how best to express himself. Bai Ruozhu noticed his hesitation and stared at him, saying, ”Just say it quickly, are you keeping something from me?”

”Some have mentioned it, but the Emperor will definitely not consider it.” Jiang Yichun lowered his voice significantly, ”There are rumors that the virtuous concubine is into ’mirror polishing’.”

”Mirror polishing? What’s that?” Bai Ruozhu looked puzzled.

Jiang Yichun’s face turned a bit red, ”It’s normal you don’t know, it refers to... women with women...”

He couldn’t continue, but seeing Bai Ruozhu’s enlightened expression, ”So it’s lesbian love, huh? Has the virtuous concubine kept a low profile, not competing for favor or power, because she likes women?”

Suddenly, she became gossipy, ”Who is she involved with? Her personal maid?”

Jiang Yichun’s face grew more and more unsightly, ”Why do you ask so much? Is this the sort of thing women should casually inquire about?”

Bai Ruozhu gave him a big eye roll, ”So old-fashioned. But you say the Emperor wouldn’t consider the virtuous concubine; could it be that he already knows, or has confirmed it?”

”I can’t say. It’s just that the virtuous concubine is not suitable.” Jiang Yichun turned his head away.

Bai Ruozhu pondered in her heart that the Emperor really had a broad mind. His own concubine fooling around with women didn’t anger him, and he even entrusted the management of the six palaces to the virtuous concubine after the Empress’s accidental death. Does he really not care?

She remembered hearing that Chen Ajiao was deposed by the Wuhan Emperor because of witchcraft, and later there were rumors she was involved in love affairs with her maid. The Wuhan Emperor was furious when he found out. Even though she was a woman he no longer favored and had already deposed, he couldn’t tolerate her being with another woman. How can Tang Yin have such a broad mind?

Maybe he doesn’t consider the virtuous concubine his woman?

”If you say ’peach splitting’, I’d understand, but you make it sound so profound.” Bai Ruozhu rolled her eyes at Jiang Yichun and muttered, ”Mirror polishing? I learned a new word today.”

Jiang Yichun was scared by her interested appearance and said sternly with a straight face, ”Don’t learn that kind of nonsense. How can women be with women? Don’t you find it disgusting?”

Bai Ruozhu looked at him strangely, ”I can’t accept women being with women, but if two handsome men are sweet on each other, it’s a pleasant scene. But isn’t it said that women can’t stand two women fooling around, while men don’t mind, except they can’t stand two men being ’cut sleeves’?”

”I’m afraid you’ll go astray!” Jiang Yichun angrily exclaimed, feeling he was going to be driven crazy by his own little woman. How could she talk about such things without blushing? Could she be any more audacious?

”Oh, don’t worry, I’m not interested in women.” Bai Ruozhu said.

Only then did Jiang Yichun breathe a sigh of relief. He had heard that some women didn’t initially like other women, yet suddenly one day they were interested, and he was very worried about that.

If Bai Ruozhu knew Jiang Yichun thought of her that way, she would cough up blood. How did she look like a lesbian?

However, she didn’t discriminate against this kind of same-sex love; true love deserves respect and understanding, so she didn’t dislike the virtuous concubine.

...

At dinnertime, Mrs. Tu pushed Tu Bai over to dine together. Tu Bai’s condition had improved a little these days, but he still couldn’t walk, he could only be pushed around in a wheelchair.

Fortunately, his spirits were much better, and Mrs. Tu’s complexion also improved.

”Ruozhu, today Ruolan came to play in my yard for a while, and I saw her spirits were good, she seems much better.” Mrs. Tu wanted to comfort Bai Ruozhu; she knew about the matters of the Bai Residence recently, but it wasn’t convenient for her to intervene.

Bai Ruozhu smiled and nodded, ”It’s good that way, fewer troubles. Maybe she’ll forget soon.”

”Yes, she’ll be well soon.” Mrs. Tu said with a smile.

During dinner, Mrs. Tu brought up Ao Qi again. She must have been missing her daughter too much. Unable to see her daughter, she wanted to see the people her daughter had saved, as if it brought her closer to her daughter.

”In that case, I’ll arrange for a few of them to come to Yingkelai for a meal, and you can see them secretly.” Bai Ruozhu said.

Mrs. Tu nodded, ”Thank you for the trouble.”

Silent until now, Tu Bai lifted his head a bit, seeming like he wanted to say something. Bai Ruozhu understood immediately and said with a smile, ”Take Tu Bai with you and let him vet for Tu Ying.”

Gratitude filled Tu Bai’s eyes. He too wanted to see, but he himself was inconvenient in mobility, always becoming a burden to his family, so he was too embarrassed to ask.

Mrs. Tu showed a relieved smile, ”Good, it’s nice that Tu Bai wants to go out and see.”

Bai Ruozhu, in her heart, stuck out her tongue secretly; Tu Ying might not even like Ao Qi. It could turn out to be just Ao Qi’s one-sided wish.

But as the saying goes, ”A woman’s pursuit of a man is like crossing a mountain, a man’s pursuit of a woman is like crossing a veil”; Ao Qi still has a chance.

The next day, Bai Ruozhu sent messages to a few friends. Since feasting was currently not allowed in the capital, she only low-key invited Ao Qi, Yingtong, Diao Yao, and Chu Hai to dine at Yingkelai.

Ao Qi and the others had no objections and agreed to meet at lunchtime the next day at Yingkelai.

Bai Ruozhu hurriedly informed Mrs. Tu and Tu Bai of the news, and they were both very pleased.

At this moment, the second daughter of the Wang Family suddenly visited Bai Residence.

Bai Ruozhu was slightly surprised when the servants reported it, as the notified guests were Wang ZhenRu and Meng Jinse.

She had interacted with Wang ZhenRu a few times but did not like Wang ZhenRu’s hypocrisy, and since she had a grudge with the Wang Family, she broke off contact with Wang ZhenRu.

As for Meng Jinse, she always quite liked this little lady and felt somewhat guilty towards her.

Wang Miaoshuang had bribed the Qisha Pavilion to nearly kill her second brother. She must deal with Wang Miaoshuang without mercy, but in the face of an innocent Meng Jinse, she felt a pinch of reluctance.

The two of them visiting at once must be to plead, right?

Bai Ruozhu instructed a servant to invite the two to the main hall. After exchanging greetings, Bai Ruozhu looked at Meng Jinse, asking, ”When did you arrive in the capital? Why haven’t you come to find me?”

Meng Jinse said apologetically, ”I arrived the day before, and now I’ve come to visit.”

Under normal circumstances, if Meng Jinse had planned to come before, she would’ve written ahead to inform Bai Ruozhu of her itinerary; now it seemed it was inconvenient for her.

”Jinse was clamoring to visit you yesterday, but my mother said her complexion wasn’t good and insisted she stay home to rest for a day. You mustn’t blame her.” Wang ZhenRu said with a charming smile, making herself seem clever and capable.

Bai Ruozhu didn’t respond to her remark, did they truly think she didn’t know their intentions?

The Wang Family’s business had been poached several deals arranged by her, and her master had found allies to deal with Wang Chengen and Du Zhongshu together. The Wang Family wanted Wang Chengen’s help, but he had no time to care.

So at this moment, the Wang Family regretted it, and conveniently, Meng Jinse was in the capital, placing their hopes on her.
