Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1633: Chapter 1633: Mother is So Fierce

He Lianlian was already dazed; she only regretted sneaking away, without any servant around, otherwise how could she have gotten entangled with such a sleazy man?

Her father was not allowed to leave Jinshui City on his own, so her third uncle took her to the Capital. But she thought her third uncle was too orthodox. Upon hearing the emperor issued a decree for Muyu and the Dou family’s Miss to be betrothed, he forbade her from making an appearance, yet she was unwilling.

Therefore, she secretly ran to the Bai Family without her third uncle knowing, but she never expected Bai Ruozhu to be completely different from the noblewomen in the Capital she imagined. She directly took a big fall.

Lin Pinger laughed so hard her mouth reached her mouth corners, ”Well, this is great, my family’s guard is already married and doesn’t want to take a concubine to wrong Miss He. This just needs a touch to follow someone as a chaste and virtuous woman, now there’s an opportunity, Miss He must not miss this great marriage!”

Bai Ruozhu also laughed, ”Exactly, when Miss He gets married, we will certainly send a gift of congratulations.”

The middle-aged man in his forties laughed so hard his mouse eyes nearly vanished, as he leaned forward to pay He Lianlian, ”This is fate between us, I don’t care about the past, rest assured, I certainly won’t dislike you for your past deeds in the future!”

He Lianlian was so frightened she immediately stepped back, screaming in terror, ”Stay away from me, stay away from me!”

He doesn’t mind her, but she minds him!

Thinking about this, she suddenly turned and glared at Bai Ruozhu, ”This person must have been arranged by you, otherwise how could it be so coincidental? You must have wanted someone to insult me, ruin my reputation!”

Bai Ruozhu found it amusing, looked at He Lianlian and said, ”It’s clearly you who came to make trouble at my doorstep, ruined your own reputation, how does that fall back on me? Should I stay silent and let you make up stories that hurt my family’s reputation?”

He Lianlian was so angry her lips trembled but her demeanor was quite pitiable, completely like a little white flower.

She cried and said, ”Back near Jinshui City, it was you spreading information everywhere, saying I was hugged by Muyu, causing my family to almost drown me. I have no animosity with you, how can you repeatedly harm me? That day I really was just delivering tea to Mr. Jiang on behalf of my father, treating you well, I didn’t expect you to misunderstand.”

Oh, how He Lianlian speaks better than sings, Bai Ruozhu now turned to be the jealous one, narrow-hearted harming her?

”How did it become me sending someone to harm you? How was I supposed to know you’d come make a scene at my doorstep? How could I possibly have someone ready?” Bai Ruozhu said, looking at the middle-aged man, ”Tell me, were you sent by me? Surely someone recognizes you? We are all neighbors, where did I find you?”

The middle-aged man squinted his eyes, smiling, ”I live in the next alley, came with neighbors to watch the fun, talk about being sent or not sent, Miss of the He Family, don’t dislike me for being older, having been married, someone like me knows how to take care of people.”

What he said wasn’t incorrect, just that the man looked somewhat sleazy, coming from his mouth made it sound odd, especially with his emphasis on ’take care of people’, making it hard not to fantasize.

A lot of onlookers burst into laughter, some men cheered along, saying he’s right, married men know how to care for people.

He Lianlian charged towards Bai Ruozhu angrily, ”You ruined my reputation, I don’t want to live anymore, I’ll fight you!”

Bai Ruozhu was skilled in martial arts, how could she let He Lianlian near her? But did not expect her mother to bravely rush forward, grabbed He Lianlian’s hair fiercely, yelling hotly, ”You come to my doorstep to make trouble and still want to hit my daughter? Do you seriously think our Bai Family can be bullied?”

Bai Ruozhu was completely stunned, she hadn’t reacted yet when her mother slapped He Lianlian’s face hard.

He Lianlian was left dumbfounded, she never expected the lady of the Bai Residence to be so fierce, to hit her personally. By the time she reacted, she cried out and scratched at Lin Pinger’s face.

Bai Ruozhu rushed forward with a stride, how could she watch her mother suffer?

She shielded He Lianlian’s hand, then turned and pushed her to the ground, glaring at her, ”Trying to hit my mom? Don’t you know she is an imperial court ordained lady?”

”So she can hit me but I can’t fight back?” He Lianlian cried, covering her face.

Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but laugh, ”You made a good point? Exactly, yet you can come and hit people, not allowing us to fight back?”

He Lianlian stood bewildered for a moment, indeed she was the first to act, though she didn’t gain any advantage.

At this time, the middle-aged man quickly stepped forward to help her up, looking concerned, ”Are you alright, my wife? Did you get hurt from the fall?”

Before He Lianlian could answer, he glared at Bai Ruozhu and shouted, ”Can’t you speak properly? What if you hurt my wife?”

The crowd couldn’t help but laugh, someone shouted, ”Xiu Liu, you really know how to care for people!”

Xiu Liu smiled and nodded to everyone, ”Of course, if it hadn’t been for my short-lived previous one, who doesn’t know I care very much for my wife?”

He Lianlian’s face turned red, she brushed Xiu Liu’s hand off, saying, ”Don’t speak nonsense, how much benefit did she give you to insult me?”

Xiu Liu made an expression of affection, saying, ”My beloved, I genuinely want to marry you, what does it have to do with others? I sincerely care for you, love you, how does it become insulting you?”

”You, you...” He Lianlian wasn’t a match for a seasoned widower; she was quickly lost for words.

Bai Ruozhu went over to help her mother, softly saying, ”Mom, you are strong for your age, but you shouldn’t fight anymore, otherwise dad will scold me when we get back, it’s unbecoming for me at my age, causing trouble and having my own mom fight for me.”

Lin Pinger smiled sheepishly, whispering, ”Life’s just been boring, mom wanted to stretch her bones.”

Bai Ruozhu gave her mom a glare; her mother was quite a character back in Mountain Village. When she had just transmigrated over, her mom had fought with Liu San’s wife for her. The peaceful days in Capital had gone on too long; her mom hadn’t needed to do anything herself, everything served by household servants, but her mom still felt she couldn’t stretch her bones anymore.

Women, indeed, have a streak of combativeness in their bones, however, for women, it might be more fitting to call it cat-fighting.

He Lianlian had already gotten up from the ground, avoiding Xiu Liu like a plague, but Xiu Liu stubbornly followed along, so she shouted angrily, ”Bai Ruozhu, I’m going to the Government Office to beat the drum and cry my grievances to have the officer arrest you and your accomplice!”

”Fine, just let Officer Fan check whether Xiu Liu was really sent by me or not,” Bai Ruozhu said loudly.
