Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1612: Chapter 1612: Capture the Flower Thief

Returning home, the two went to pay respects to their parents, then spent some time playing with their son. Jiang Yichun even took the time to read picture books with Dengdeng. Although he is always busy, he takes time to truly accompany his son whenever he can, proving to be quite a competent father.

After dinner, when they lulled Dengdeng to sleep, Jiang Yichun returned to the room and started talking to Bai Ruozhu about his recent findings.

”Saihan has recently gotten involved with Ma Linglong. The two often have secret rendezvous in a secluded mansion in City West, and they’ve already slept together,” Jiang Yichun said with a look of disdain, ”The Ma Family has already fallen to this extent. It’s truly disgracing Danliang. Ma Linglong seems like a noble lady, but behind the scenes, she’s more lascivious than a brothel prostitute.”

Bai Ruozhu raised an eyebrow, ”Did you see something?”

Jiang Yichun’s eyelids twitched, and he hurriedly said, ”I didn’t go to see anything. Such matters, watching them will cause styes! It’s a report from the people below. Saihan has some subordinates in the Capital. We’ve also tracked him for several days, even using the faction from over there before discovering the place where he and Ma Linglong rendezvous.”

”Over there” refers to Upstairs Upstairs.

”Besides fooling around, what else did they do?” Bai Ruozhu asked out of curiosity.

”Ma Linglong informed him about the situation in the Capital. After all, Saihan has been gone for almost a year. While some people in the shadows are still around, many things aren’t as clearly known as those known by Ma Linglong in the aristocratic circles. Plus, Ma Linglong is keen on gathering information and is quite adept at winning people over. She indeed knows quite a few secrets among the aristocrats,” Jiang Yichun explained.

Bai Ruozhu nodded, thinking about how Ma Linglong almost made Princess Yingtong fall for her second brother when they first met, realizing this woman is not simple.

”Isn’t he planning to catch some ministers’ weaknesses and compel them to support him in proposing to marry Diao Yao?” Bai Ruozhu thought Saihan must be dissatisfied with Ma Linglong. Otherwise, he would have settled on Ma Linglong as his consort, and their alliance would be secured.

Jiang Yichun reached out to soothe her furrowed brow, saying, ”That should be the case. He still hasn’t given up on Diao Yao.”

”Damn pervert!” Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but curse. Both she and Jiang Yichun understood the sentiment. He insists on marrying his half-sister, isn’t that perverse?

”That Ma Linglong is no good either, sinking into depravity,” Bai Ruozhu said, her eyes glancing around before her lips curled upward. ”Achun, I have an idea; it might expedite their affair.”

Jiang Yichun was amused by her cunning fox-like demeanor and laughed, ”Quickly tell me, and I’ll arrange for someone to handle it.”

Bai Ruozhu leaned close to his ear and whispered, and soon Jiang Yichun’s face was slightly flushed. After listening, he turned around and left to give instructions to his subordinates, then rushed back into the room.

Just moments ago, she was speaking very closely to his ear, with her warm breath blowing on it, causing him almost to lose control. After finally sorting things out, he couldn’t wait any longer and had to teach her a lesson so she would know not to tease him so carelessly.

Bai Ruozhu seemed very innocent; for such a plot, one must speak close to the ear, right? She wasn’t intentionally teasing him!

As a result, that night was all sore and aching back. If not for the adjustment provided by the Spatial Hot Spring, she would surely have been exhausted.

Meanwhile, deep into the night, others were busily working outside, naturally fulfilling the master’s and mistress’s ”great plan.”

The next day, a shocking piece of news spread throughout the Capital. The famous flower-stealing thief of River Jiang, ”Fragrant Night,” had snuck into Capital City, known for his expertise in disguise and unmatched skill in martial arts, had eluded the Government Office for years.

And on the previous night, a good family’s young lady had been harmed by the flower thief!

The story spread wildly, even reaching the female doctors at the Female Physicians Institution, who were relieved to be within the Palace’s heavily guarded walls.

Bai Ruozhu, returning from the Palace to the Residence, couldn’t resist sizing up Muyu with an inquisitive and scrutinizing gaze, causing goosebumps to rise on Muyu.

”Madam, please say whatever you want directly; I’m really quite scared when you look at me like that,” Muyu said with a face full of grievances.

”Muyu, there was quite the buzz outside today. They say a young lady was violated, with all the details. Wasn’t it you who lost patience and took the chance to harm some family’s young lady?” Bai Ruozhu asked with curiosity.

Muyu almost cried, ”Madam, you see I’m the one who always does the dirty and tiring work, and even this disgraceful job I do, how can you not trust me? Even if I end up alone forever, I’d never do such a thing. Besides, you haven’t even seen what that young lady looks like; I’m not that desperate!”

Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but laugh, ”Was that lady someone you guys arranged?”

Muyu lowered his voice, ”What lady, it was a man disguised.”

Bai Ruozhu burst into laughter herself, no wonder the person was crying at the Government Office entrance with his parents. No worry about reputation as it was a man anyway.

She had just proposed the idea, not expecting Achun to arrange it so realistically. This situation could escalate into something much bigger.

In the following days, families in the Capital strengthened their vigilance, whether commoner or aristocrat, fearful that their daughters might be targeted by the flower thief, especially families with slightly attractive daughters.

And Fan Li, the Capital district magistrate, along with the patrol camp guards, were busily engaged, yet after two days, they failed to track down the flower thief’s exact movements.

Finally, on the third day, a captain from the Government Office led officers to pursue ”Fragrant Night’s” whereabouts. Each of them pushed hard in pursuit. After all, Lord Fan said that whoever could catch the flower thief would be directly promoted.

Similarly, the patrol camp guards discovered ”Fragrant Night’s” trail and pursued it along the way. Both groups quickly noticed each other, yet neither faltered and became even more aggressive. Such matters naturally mean whoever captures the thief first earns the merit. No one wants to miss a chance to achieve significant merit.

Meanwhile, in a remotely located little mansion in City West, Saihan was conspiring with Ma Linglong. Their method was unique; while engaging in all sorts of wild activities, they were also discussing plans. Saihan even found Ma Linglong’s intelligence and cunning very attractive, and despite it being a moment of thrill, she could speak of deceitful schemes, making her unusually captivating and drawing him into it, even desiring to visit and enjoy with Ma Linglong when there was no major matter.

Yet, he never expected chaos to unfold today.

Outside, a large number of government soldiers suddenly stormed in, as if on a battlefield, almost breaking down the mansion. Due to their aggressive and swift charge, even Saihan couldn’t react quickly enough to hide.

”Bold flower thief, surrender yourself obediently!” One shouted, rushing into the room first.
