Abandoned Woman Busy Farming

Chapter 1613: 1613 Chapter: The Main Wife is Still Diao Yao

It was the head constable of the Government Office who stormed in first, eager to make a significant contribution, and naturally couldn’t be slower than those from the City Patrol. The City Patrol officers also dared not fall behind, following closely inside, and it wasn’t just one person from each side. In an instant, the room was almost bursting.

Prince Saihan had always been cautious, but when indulging with a woman, he naturally didn’t want his subordinates to be too close. Besides, this was a concealed location where he had secretly met Ma Linglong multiple times, feeling completely safe and letting his guard down.

So when Saihan’s subordinates noticed something was amiss, it was already too late to stop anyone. Watching those furious Danliang government soldiers, they almost thought they were rushing in to directly slaughter Prince Saihan.

”Flower thief you...” The City Patrol Team Leader managed to shout halfway before choking, for inside the room, there was no flower thief, but rather two naked people entwined together, and the man was none other than the Turkic prince?

Saihan was extremely arrogant in Danliang Country, especially after the incident where he competed in drinking with Liang Jing; none of the military officials in the capital didn’t despise him. So, upon catching him in the act with a woman, everyone, although surprised, did not retreat. Some even intentionally stayed to watch the spectacle.

The crowd at the back kept pushing in, forcing the people in front nearly to the bedside. Someone couldn’t help but shout, making the scene extremely chaotic. Ma Linglong was so frightened that she turned pale, crawling into the quilt, not daring to stick her head out.

A flash of anger crossed Saihan’s face, but he quickly recovered his composure. He casually grabbed some clothes to cover his lower body and said to the crowd, ”What are you doing? Does Danliang want to harm the prince of an ally country? Even during wartime, emissaries are not beheaded; what do you call this?”

Constable Zhao Geng, standing at the forefront, had no choice but to say, ”Prince Saihan, it’s a misunderstanding. We traced the notorious flower thief Yiye Piaoxiang nearby and saw him flee into this yard, but how is it that he suddenly vanished?”

”Are you suggesting I’m harboring a flower thief?” Saihan said with a cold expression, ”I should go ask Tang Yin if he truly allows officials to act so wantonly?”

”How dare you! How can you address the emperor by name? As a Turkic prince, why aren’t you staying in the guest house arranged by the Ministry of Rites? What are you doing in such a place?” Although Zhao Geng was a warrior, he was also eloquent, directly retorting at Saihan.

”Does this prince need to report to you where he goes?” Saihan snorted coldly.

Unperturbed, Zhao Geng said, ”This is Danliang Country’s territory, and we have our own rules. If a prince cannot abide by them, don’t blame us for such misunderstandings. We are currently searching for the flower thief, we ask the prince for his cooperation.”

”Outrageous! All that’s in my bed is a beauty; where is this flower thief coming from? Are you looking for trouble?” Saihan glared, his eyes already filled with a murderous aura.

City Patrol Left Guard Huang Yufan also spoke, ”We are conducting ourselves according to protocol, the Turkic prince should not make it difficult for us.”

”You!” Red light shot from Saihan’s eyes; no one noticed the slight red hue fluctuating in his eyes. The poisonous insect in his body was raring to go, but he knew he couldn’t fully control it, and once unleashed, he would face even stronger backlash, so he could only secretly suppress it with his inner strength.

And Ma Linglong, in the quilt, was not an ordinary woman. Although she was initially terrified and pale, she did not sit idly by. Carefully, she pulled in the clothes from under the quilt, putting them on piece by piece.

When the confrontation reached a boiling point, she brazenly threw off the quilt and stood up.

”Isn’t this Miss from the Ma Family?” Zhao Geng’s statement was a question, but his tone was heavily laden with sarcasm.

How disgraceful it was for the woman, not yet married, to be found in such an affair, and with a Turkic prince, nonetheless, causing those present to look down on her.

But alas, Ma Linglong did not show any embarrassment or shame, only saying calmly, ”The prince and I are genuinely in love, and the Turkic people are not bound by so many rigid rules, so everyone need not worry excessively.”

”Aren’t you a Danliang native? Aren’t you afraid of disgracing your family?” Huang Yufan laughed disdainfully.

”This is my personal matter, no need for you to worry, sir.” After saying this, Ma Linglong gracefully bowed before retreating to one side, not realizing in her haste that she had tied one part of her belt incorrectly, leaving a glimpse of flesh visible at the side, as she hadn’t found her undergarment in the rush.

If she noticed her current awkward state, could she remain so composed?

By the time the news reached the Bai Family, Bai Ruozhu was already laughing so hard she doubled over, tapping Jiang Yichun’s arm with mirth, ”You’re too mischievous. I was originally planning for them to be caught in a tryst to solidify their marriage, but you went as far as involving the Government Office officers and City Patrols, nearly bursting the room’s seams. It’s fortunate that the Ma Family girl didn’t end up seeking death.”

Jiang Yichun smiled as he steadied her, ”Right now, Saihan, Zhao Geng, and Huang Yufan have entered the palace to meet the emperor. Saihan will definitely make a fuss, and I suspect the emperor will put on a show of reprimanding Zhao Geng and Huang Yufan a few times, but won’t punish them severely. This is something the emperor is glad to see.

Bai Ruozhu reached for a piece of dimsum on the table and popped it into her mouth. Lately, her appetite had been quite good, and now, in high spirits, her hunger was even greater.

”I estimate by tomorrow, an edict will be issued conferring Ma Linglong as a prefectural lord and immediately marrying her off to the Turkic as an alliance,” Bai Ruozhu said with a smile.

Turning to the next morning’s court session, Saihan appeared on the court and publicly requested the decree to marry Ma Linglong as a concubine.

”According to Turkic customs, Ma Linglong is not a princess or a prefectural lord, so she can only be a concubine, and the position of my principal wife is reserved for Princess Diao Yao,” Saihan announced loudly.

”Prince Saihan, I have told you more than once, Diao Yao has not yet been conferred a title, and even if she were, it would only be as a prefectural lord. As for the Ma Family, they are part of our dynasty’s aristocracy. Ma Linglong is knowledgeable, graceful, and composed. I conferred her as a prefectural lord; wouldn’t it be better for her to be married to you as a principal wife?” Tang Yin’s face was as cold as ice. Yesterday, they caught him cavorting with Ma Linglong, and today, he still had the face to say the position of principal wife was kept for Diao Yao. This Saihan was really shameless!

It didn’t matter if Tang Yin held any brotherly feelings for Diao Yao, his pride alone wouldn’t allow him to marry Diao Yao to someone like Saihan.

Saihan arrogantly said, ”Emperor, I am the one marrying the principal wife, not you, so you don’t need to concern yourself with whom I wish to marry.”

”Saihan! I have already advised with good intentions repeatedly, but since you show no sincerity, the marriage alliance matter ends here. Now, return to Turkic!” The emperor flicked his sleeves, ”Court adjourned!”

The court officials had not yet recovered from the shock before the emperor annulled the marriage? But of course, Saihan was simply intolerable, so the court officials all bowed in salutation, watching the emperor leave in anger.

Saihan squinted and watched Tang Yin’s departing figure, unwilling to believe that Tang Yin truly dared to sever relations with the Turkic.
