Chapter 1618: Chapter 1618: Comparing People Can Be Infuriating

Bai Ruozhu’s face darkened, ”There’s no need for Prince Saihan to worry about this. Danliang Country has its own affairs. We need to escort Princess Yingtong and Lady Diao Yao to the Palace. Please, Prince, make way and do not cause us to delay.”

Saihan’s gaze fell upon the Princess Diao Bin, who wore a gauze cap. Clicking his tongue, he said, ”This is Princess Diao Bin, isn’t it? Your strange illness hasn’t healed yet?”

Diao Bin shivered, raised her head and removed the gauze cap, revealing a head of snow-white silver hair.

”Let the Turkic Prince laugh. This Princess’s strange illness will likely be difficult to cure,” Diao Bin said, almost through gritted teeth.

Saihan frowned, pulled his horse back, seemingly wary of Diao Bin’s full head of white hair. It appears he believes the rumor that Diao Bin is an ominous figure.

”Then Princess Diao Bin should return to the Palace to recuperate properly and not venture out recklessly anymore,” Saihan said.

Diao Bin snorted coldly, ”This is the Capital City of Danliang Country, and I am Danliang’s Princess. I don’t need the Turkic Prince to worry about where I want to go. Farewell!”

After speaking, she led the way to bypass him, but Saihan suddenly blocked Diao Yao.

”I hear that Lady Diao Yao learned arts at the Bihai Sect before returning to the Palace. Her martial arts are quite impressive. I admire heroines of the River Jiang. I happen to have learned some martial arts as well. Why not spar with Lady Diao Yao?” Saihan’s tone held a hint of provocation, and Diao Yao was already furious with him. Hearing this made her want to beat him even more.

Bai Ruozhu saw the situation was not favorable and hurriedly pulled Diao Yao aside, saying, ”Lady Diao Yao is of royal blood and should not engage in combat. Afraid she cannot agree to the Prince’s request. The Empress Dowager urgently summons us to the Palace; let’s discuss this next time we meet, Prince.”

Upon hearing Bai Ruozhu’s words, Diao Yao calmed down, realizing she had been too impulsive. How could she recklessly duel with Saihan?

Unfortunately, Saihan did not intend to let them pass. He continued blocking Diao Yao, even reaching for her horse’s reins. Diao Yao didn’t want to engage him, but she wasn’t one to suffer losses quietly. She slapped at Saihan’s extended hand, shouting, ”How dare you! My horse is not for you to touch!”

Saihan’s hand was knocked aside, and a peculiar expression appeared on his face, ”You have such great strength?”

Diao Yao, though not highly trained in inner strength, was gifted with exceptional brute force. It’s one of the reasons the head of the Bihai Sect took her on as a personal disciple.

Beside them, Bai Ruozhu’s face turned cold; she didn’t want to engage Saihan easily either, but now there was no retreating.

She stepped forward and pushed Saihan’s hand away, sternly saying, ”Prince, please step aside, or I shall have to protect the Princess and Lady.”

As she moved, Jianqi moved as well. Though not directly attacking Saihan, he positioned himself advantageously. Should Saihan attempt anything, Jianqi would immediately strike.

Saihan’s subordinates suddenly rushed forward, shouting, ”What are you doing? Want to fight?”

Beside them, Tang Feng squinted, his grip on the reins tightening slightly, ”Prince, please make way. We are close to the Palace Gate; fighting here will gain you nothing.”

Saihan suddenly laughed, his smile strangely eerie, ”Really? Then you underestimate my abilities.”

As he finished speaking, he suddenly struck at Bai Ruozhu, but she had already secretly formed a seal with her fingers, using magic techniques to block his attack. Unexpectedly, Saihan feigned his move and, in the next second, reached out with his other hand towards Diao Yao.

Diao Yao raised her hand to counterattack but screamed suddenly, falling down and promptly landing into Saihan’s embrace.

Bai Ruozhu inwardly exclaimed that this was bad; Saihan’s ability stemmed from the poisonous insect within him. Bai Ruozhu hadn’t expected him to succeed so quickly. Urgently, she signaled Jianqi to ensure Diao Yao was retrieved; otherwise, if Saihan took Diao Yao away and an irreversible situation occurred, Diao Yao’s life would be ruined regardless of her refusal to marry him!

Jianqi attacked Saihan, while Saihan’s subordinates blocked him and they began to grapple. Saihan laughed loudly, dragged the unconscious Diao Yao onto his horse, turned its head, and attempted to leave.

Yingtong shouted and galloped forward. Bai Ruozhu inwardly exclaimed this was not right; Yingtong rushing forward was akin to rushing into doom!

Fortunately, Saihan’s subordinates blocked the middle, preventing Yingtong from getting through.

”Yingtong, Diao Bin, report to the Emperor in the Palace immediately! Leave this to us!” Bai Ruozhu called out. If Yingtong and Diao Bin stayed, they’d only be a hindrance, providing no assistance.

Though Yingtong’s temper was fiery, she wasn’t impulsive. She gritted her teeth, cracked her whip to carve a path, and led Diao Bin toward the Palace Gate.

During this time, Saihan had already taken Diao Yao and sped off into the distance. Bai Ruozhu and Tang Feng rode in pursuit, quickly approaching the commotion, but the horses were impeded from running. Suddenly, Saihan abandoned his horse, clutched Diao Yao, leapt to the rooftop, and swiftly dashed.

Bai Ruozhu’s agility had been trained better than her martial arts, and with her magic technique enhancing her speed, she hadn’t fallen far behind Saihan. Soon she realized that Tang Feng was not only keeping pace but had outstripped her.

It turns out Tang Feng’s agility is better than hers.

Quickly, Tang Feng caught up with Saihan, suddenly unleashing hidden weapons. Saihan dodged two but was struck by the third. Though his body swayed, he continued moving forward.

A look of doubt flashed across Tang Feng’s face. Bai Ruozhu hurriedly whispered, ”He carries a poisonous insect inside him; he’s immune to all toxins.”

”That’s troublesome,” Tang Feng muttered under his breath, accelerating his pursuit.

Bai Ruozhu secretly instructed Furball to prepare. She knew Furball couldn’t match Saihan’s evil insect, but it was her sole chance for a surprise attack.

Finally, Tang Feng blocked Saihan and struck a palm towards him. Saihan turned to counterattack, his eyes full of rage and faintly bloodshot, resembling a bloodthirsty evil demon.

Bai Ruozhu inwardly shouted that this was bad; Saihan’s insect was about to act up, and once released, neither she nor Tang Feng would stand a chance against Saihan.

”Tang Feng, watch out!” Bai Ruozhu called out.

But Tang Feng suddenly turned his head to her, shouting, ”Ruozhu, use your magic technique quickly!”

The situation was too tense for Bai Ruozhu to ponder what he meant; she only caught the peculiar meaning in his glance. Instinctively, she formed a hand seal, and immediately saw Tang Feng reach out to her, followed by a force pulling her inside.

The next moment she was inside Tang Feng’s space, staring at him, speechless for a while before asking, ”You can bring me in without touching me?”

Tang Feng responded with a wry smile, ”Isn’t your space capable?”

Bai Ruozhu’s mouth twitched. Indeed, some things couldn’t be compared to others, as it causes frustration.

”No,” Bai Ruozhu admitted and then grew worried about Diao Yao, clearly not brought into the space.

Tang Feng waved his sleeve, allowing them to see outside. Saihan, visibly alert, inspected the surroundings, wary of their ambush.
