Doctor: I Can Synthesize Infinite Entries

Chapter 295: Chapter 215: Promotion, Associate Chief Physician

Soon, a high-level emergency meeting began.

Dean Sun, Dean Tang, and Dean Liu—a rare gathering of all three—were in attendance, along with the directors of various departments and the heads of relevant divisions.

Seeing this lineup, most of the department directors and division heads were confused. ’What major incident has happened at the hospital?’

As the attendees murmured among themselves, Dean Tang called the meeting to order and presented the agenda for this emergency session.

”I’ve called everyone here for this emergency meeting today primarily to discuss the promotion of Dr. Wu Ting from the Emergency Department.”

Upon hearing that such a powerful assembly was convened merely to discuss Wu Ting’s promotion, some of the department directors and division heads felt it was an overreaction. ’Aren’t they making too big a deal out of this?’

However, with the three deans presiding, no one dared to be too presumptuous, so they waited for Dean Tang’s explanation.

Dean Tang didn’t keep them in suspense:

”The reason for this meeting is a matter of timing. Earlier today, Dean Sun received several calls, most notably from Dean Song of Jinggang University Affiliated First Hospital and Dean Chen of Xianglin City Xuanshang University Affiliated Tumor Hospital.”

”Both deans have requested to have Dr. Wu Ting’s personnel file transferred to their institutions. In return, they are willing to collaborate with our City First Hospital, offering support for national key research projects, opportunities to build key laboratories, and more...”

Hearing Dean Tang’s words, the senior directors present, especially those from relevant departments, were practically itching to send Wu Ting away immediately.

”Isn’t that a good thing? What’s there to even think about? Just transfer Wu Ting. Trading a junior doctor for several national-level projects and the chance for key laboratories... what’s the hesitation?”

Dean Tang ignored the suggestions from some of the directors.

Instead, he was the first to state his own perspective:

”Of course, the offers from Dean Song and Dean Chen are once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for City First Hospital and a great chance to enhance our hospital’s overall capabilities.”

”But, have any of you considered the real reason behind it?”

”Is there really such a thing as a free lunch?”

After speaking, Dean Tang paused deliberately, his gaze sweeping over the crowd.

Hearing Dean Tang’s analysis, everyone began to ponder. ’That’s right, why would they do that?’

’Could it be that this Wu Ting has some powerful connections pulling the strings?’

’Does he have a powerful benefactor?’

Dean Tang didn’t give them a chance to speculate, turning directly to Huo Yun:

”Director Huo, you tell us why.”

Huo Yun took the floor, tapped the microphone in front of him, tested it a few times, and then reported in a clear, resonant voice:

”The reason Dean Song and Dean Chen are willing to pay such a high price to recruit Wu Ting is, of course, because Dr. Wu Ting is worth it!”

”Dr. Wu has been developing his career in my Emergency Department for some time now, so many directors from other departments may not be familiar with him. I’d like to take this opportunity to give everyone a proper introduction.”

”Since joining our Emergency Department, Dr. Wu has published several papers in core journals, including a special issue of *Cell*, the findings of which caused a sensation internationally... He has also improved several brand-new Surgical Techniques and obtained the relevant patents...”

”As a project lead, he spearheaded the establishment of the Research Center for Laparoscopic Diagnosis and Treatment Technology in the Emergency Department, and he was instrumental in forming the national expert consensus on same-day laparoscopic cholecystectomy...”

”Among these, several of his projects have secured funding from the National Youth Foundation. His latest project, on a curative therapy for primary liver cancer caused by Hepatitis B, has already been earmarked for a key project grant from the National Natural Science Foundation, which will provide ten million in funding. At the same time, this project will also sign a deal with the Fan City Mother Fund for a ten-million investment, and it has also secured a ten-million investment from the Jinggang University Mother Fund...”

”Because of Dr. Wu’s presence, our City First Hospital will soon not only see the completion of the third phase of a national-level Research Center for Laparoscopic Diagnosis and Treatment Technology... but we will also have a new laboratory for primary liver cancer caused by Hepatitis B... and a key project from the National Natural Science Foundation...”

”Furthermore, Dr. Wu Ting’s project just won the first prize in the Jin Province Natural Science and Technology Progress Awards...”

Listening to Director Huo’s introduction, the directors present now had a comprehensive understanding of Wu Ting’s recent achievements, and they found it all somewhat unbelievable.

’Wu Ting is actually that incredible!’

This was also the first time Dean Sun and Dean Liu had gained such a complete picture of Wu Ting. ’This young doctor has already become so influential.’

The terms offered by Dean Song and Dean Chen seemed very attractive at first glance, but they were all one-time deals.

Wu Ting’s presence, on the other hand, offered not only the various achievements and honors that were about to materialize, but more importantly, the man himself possessed infinite potential.

With Wu Ting here, his research capabilities and clinical talent were enough to develop even more projects and produce even more tangible results.

After Huo Yun’s analysis, the three deans knew what they had to do.

The first and foremost premise was that Wu Ting had to stay.

Thus, the topic of the meeting shifted to how to arrange Wu Ting’s position.

Dean Tang and Director Huo continued their well-rehearsed exchange:

”Director Huo, Wu Ting has been in your Emergency Department all this time. What are your thoughts?”

Huo Yun immediately presented his idea:

”Although Wu Ting’s seniority is low and he hasn’t been at City First Hospital for long, by conventional promotion standards, his current position as chief resident is already an exception to the rules.”
