Chapter 291: Chapter 213: Establishment of Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company and Announcement of the Provincial Natural Science Award

This ensured that on major decisions, Wu Ting and the Jin Pharmaceutical Group combined would hold an absolute majority, allowing them to have the final say on any company matter!

Wu Ting was also in full agreement with this arrangement.

After the company was registered and initially established, the Jin Pharmaceutical Group injected the first round of funding—20 million yuan in full—into the company account as start-up capital.

At the same time, Deng Feifei began recruiting the company’s first batch of employees. The initial management team was seconded from the Jin Pharmaceutical Group.

Under Deng Feifei’s management, Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company gradually began to get up and running.

Deng Feifei and Wu Ting discussed and agreed that since the third and fourth stages of the radical cure for hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer required long-term R&D and investment, it would be treated as a long-cycle project for the company, receiving continuous funding.

The company’s key commercial projects in the initial phase were, first, the production and sale of Wu Ting’s Wu’s Umbilical Knife.

Second was the system integration solution for the specialized equipment and the large-scale core algorithm model for Wu Ting’s Perfect Triple Method.

As the strategic partner of Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company, the Jin Pharmaceutical Group also took on the contract manufacturing for these two projects.

Wu Ting and Deng Feifei had already agreed that once the first batch of products was manufactured, they would approach the teams of the top surgical directors with whom Wu Ting had close ties to establish collaborations.

It was foreseeable that both products would generate stable sales and profits!

The third commercial project was the commercial application of Wu Ting’s P3 predictive diagnosis and treatment technology for chronic hepatitis B.

This project would also be a collaboration with the Jin Pharmaceutical Group, which already had its own occupational health screening department.

The department had even been designated an ”Excellent Occupational Health Screening Institution” in the Jin Province quality control evaluation!

Incorporating Wu Ting’s P3 predictive diagnosis and treatment for chronic hepatitis B into their services would create a highly attractive and practical specialty package.

According to Deng Feifei and Wu Ting’s projections, once these three initial commercial projects were successfully up and running and generating cash flow, the profits could be funneled back to support the third and fourth stages of the radical cure for hepatitis B-related primary liver cancer.

While Wu Ting and Deng Feifei were busy with the initial operations and various affairs of Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company, Director Huo was pulling out all the stops. By leveraging his connections, he successfully secured the first prize in this year’s Jin Province Science and Technology Awards for Wu Ting’s project!

This year’s Jin Province Innovation Development Conference was held at the Provincial Capital’s main hall.

The Provincial Science and Technology Bureau announced this year’s winners of the Jin Province Science and Technology Awards. A total of 298 achievements (projects) received awards in the categories of Provincial Natural Science, Technological Invention, and Science and Technology Progress. There were also 6 awards for International Science and Technology Cooperation.

Looking at the list, Wu Ting saw that there were only twenty first-prize winners in total. His team’s project, the Perfect Triple Method for assisted laparoscopy, was ranked sixth:

Project Title: Perfect Triple Method for Assisted Laparoscopy (Application platform combining indocyanine green fluorescence, ultrasound, and a 3D imaging navigation system)

Affiliated Institution: Fan City First Hospital

Contributors: Wu Ting, Yan Xi, Jin Yan, Ling Ling, Cheng Feng

Looking at a screenshot of the award list from the official website, Director Huo pinged everyone in the City First Hospital Emergency Department’s research center group chat, especially the core team.

”Congratulations, everyone! After all your hard work, our research center has finally won a major award—first prize in the Jin Province Science and Technology Progress Awards!”

”Congratulations to the core team: Wu Ting, Yan Xi, Ling Ling, Jin Yan, and Dr. Cheng Feng! Let’s celebrate!” He followed the message with three firework emojis.

The group chat immediately erupted. Members like Yasui and Luo Ming were filled with a mix of envy, admiration, and a renewed sense of motivation:

”Holy crap, a Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award! And first prize, at that! That’s amazing! Congrats, congrats!”

”Congrats, congrats! What a huge award! The Emergency Department Research Center is on fire!”

As Wu Ting’s number one follower, Cheng Feng was on cloud nine. This time, he had truly earned some serious bragging rights:

”Ahahaha! I can’t believe I snagged a first prize in the Provincial Science and Technology Progress Awards! Thanks to City First Hospital, thanks to the hospital leadership, thanks to Director Huo, thanks to Brother Ting, and thanks to all the PhDs... I’m just too awesome.” He imagined himself striking a smug, hands-on-hips pose, then posted three cool-guy emojis.

The three female PhDs were also ecstatic.

”Yay! Our ’Three Golden Flowers’ really are amazing! We did ourselves proud! @Jin Yan @Ling Ling. Thanks to the research center’s leadership, thanks to all our colleagues for their support, and of course, the biggest, biggest, biggest thanks to our brilliant and handsome Group Leader Wu Ting for carrying us!”

Yan Xi, being the most vivacious of the group, heaped praise on Wu Ting.

Ling Ling was also incredibly excited. This was a first-prize provincial award, and as a primary contributor, it would be a major advantage in future promotions and award evaluations.

Ling Ling felt incredibly fortunate to have joined the research center and to be working under Wu Ting.

”I’m so happy! Thank you, everyone, and thank you to our handsome group leader, Wu Ting!” she wrote, adding three firework emojis.

Even Jin Yan, who was normally stern and aloof, was beside herself with excitement. She posted a rare message of thanks to Group Leader Wu Ting in the chat, even adding three heart emojis.

This achievement was the most valuable of all for her. ’With this under my belt,’ she thought, ’I’ll finally be qualified for a promotion to associate chief physician when I go back.’

An associate chief physician this young was a rarity in the departments of Xianglin City’s top-tier Tertiary Grade A hospitals.

Just by following Wu Ting on this single project, her career had taken a giant leap forward.

So this time, she was truly overjoyed. ’If Wu Ting were here right now,’ she thought, ’I’d feel like giving him a big kiss.’

”So, so happy!” she typed, followed by three spinning-in-circles emojis.

Seeing all the comments in the group, Huo Yun was in high spirits. With this major award, the conditions for Wu Ting’s exceptional promotion to Deputy Director were finally met!

The next step was to go to Dean Tang and submit the application. ’As long as it passes at the next regular hospital meeting and the official announcement is made,’ he thought, ’Wu Ting will become City First Hospital’s youngest associate chief physician in history.’

The key was that within a single year, Wu Ting had gone from completing his residency to becoming chief resident, and was now poised to jump two ranks to the position of associate chief physician. Huo Yun had a feeling he was witnessing the rise of a legendary medical figure!

「City First Hospital, Dean’s Office.」

Dean Tang received a special phone call. It was from Tang Shengjie, the general manager of National Investment.

At first, Dean Tang thought Tang Shengjie was calling because his father was having health problems again. However, after they spoke, he learned that the Fan City Mother Fund, which Tang Shengjie managed, had completed its investigation and review of Wu Ting’s team project and approved it.

They had decided to get in touch with Wu Ting in the near future and also wanted to invite him to the annual project signing ceremony.
