Chapter 290: Chapter 213: Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company Founded, Provincial Natural Science Award Announced

Hearing the name Wu Ting, You Wei was clearly taken aback.

”Wu Ting?”

You Wei was all too familiar with Wu Ting. He had once hastily published a commentary questioning Wu Ting, only to be proven spectacularly wrong. It had been a humiliating experience, forcing him to post a pinned apology and endure a relentless blasting from netizens.

He never thought he would be shown up again, this time by one of Wu Ting’s clinical surgical plans.

’How is this guy so brilliant in both research and clinical practice?’

You Wei felt a mix of frustration and helplessness.

”It seems Director You knows Dr. Wu, eh? Dr. Wu is quite impressive, isn’t he?”

To get the surgical video, You Wei could only grit his teeth and admit:

”Yes, Dr. Wu is indeed a brilliant and talented young man. I hope I’ll have the chance to collaborate with him someday...”

After some perfunctory flattery, You Wei pressed on.

”So, Dean Liu, would it be convenient for you to forward the surgical video to me?”

Dean Liu’s reply was merciless.

”Director You, I’m afraid that won’t be possible. Although Dr. Wu is a contracted expert consultant for our hospital, the surgical videos he leads can currently only be viewed for study within our hospital. For external sharing, we still need Dr. Wu’s authorization.”

”It seems you’re quite familiar with Dr. Wu, Director You. Why don’t you ask him for it directly? We’ve already given a copy of the surgical video to Dr. Wu.”

”Well, Director You, my apologies, but I have a consultation for another surgery to attend. I’ll have to leave it at that. Bye.”

Dean Liu hung up the phone.

Staring at the disconnected call, You Wei’s face turned ugly. ’How dare Dean Liu treat me like this!’

In the past, hadn’t he always been the one to hang up first? Hadn’t he always been the one to reject Dean Liu’s requests?

The more You Wei thought about it, the angrier he became, yet his curiosity about Wu Ting’s brand-new balloon tamponade hemostasis method was an unbearable itch.

”So annoying!”

「...」

Wu Ting and Wu Mu returned to his cousin’s home to continue with the evening wedding banquet.

At the banquet table, Wu Mu, after a few glasses of white liquor, began to vividly recount the events of the afternoon.

He described in lively detail how Wu Ting had saved Sister Hong in the ambulance, how he had demonstrated his influence upon arriving at Yu State Hospital, how he had directed the lead surgeon during the operation, and finally, how Dean Liu had treated him like a guest of honor and signed him as an expert consultant.

Wu Ting sat to the side, quietly listening to his father ”boast” about him. Through his father’s words, he could feel an immense sense of pride and honor.

As for the relatives and friends at the table—whether they felt admiration, envy, or a hidden, green-eyed jealousy—Wu Ting couldn’t care less.

All that mattered was that his parents felt proud, happy, and overjoyed.

He had strength, skill, connections, ability, and a great future ahead of him. Because of this, Wu Ting had the confidence to sit there and listen to everyone’s praise and compliments.

Perhaps this was the so-called balanced path of the sage: neither servile nor arrogant, neither haughty nor fawning.

「...」

The next day, Wu Ting returned to City First Hospital early in the morning to begin his daily work.

Just after finishing his rounds and returning to his office, Wu Ting received a call from Deng Feifei. At the same time, he received photos of various documents she had sent over.

Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company had been successfully registered. Concurrently, the bank account had also been set up.

An office space, scouted by Deng Feifei, had also been leased.

The company’s office was just across the street from City First Hospital. It was a move-in-ready space; for the sake of rapid progress at this stage, Deng Feifei had chosen the most efficient options.

Wu Ting naturally gave Deng Feifei’s work high praise and admiration.

The two of them made a perfect team: one was responsible for business operations, while Wu Ting only needed to handle the research and development of core technologies.

Following their original framework agreement, Deng Feifei had also designed the company’s initial equity distribution plan, setting aside some shares for future allocation.

It was broken down as follows:

Founding Shareholder: Wu Ting, holding 51%, contributing through technology, patents, etc...

Venture Capital Shareholders: Jinggang University’s parent fund, holding 10% for an investment of 10 million... other venture capital (reserved), for a total of 28%...

Strategic Partner: Jin Pharmaceutical Group (exclusive), holding 16% for an investment of 20 million.

Employee Stock Ownership Plan: Reserved and pending, holding 5%...

...

According to this equity structure, Wu Ting, as the founder, held 51% of the shares, achieving a controlling interest.

And Wu Ting’s shares, combined with Jin Pharmaceutical Group’s 16%, came to exactly 67%, which constituted a so-called absolute majority.

The remaining 28% was reserved for various future venture capital funds. Of course, this was only for the parent company of Wu’s Pharmaceutical Company.

Later on, specific projects would be established as subsidiaries controlled by the parent company, which could then attract secondary investments.

This was all part of the equity plan Deng Feifei had designed specifically for Wu Ting, ensuring that he could maintain true autonomy in research and development during future operations.

According to the provisions of the Company Law, shareholder meetings decide on general matters by a ”simple majority.” A stake of over half is enough to pass a resolution, meaning Wu Ting, with over 50%, could decide on them.

However, Article 43 of the Company Law also stipulates that for particularly important matters—such as capital increases or reductions, mergers, divisions, dissolution, or amendments to the company’s articles of association—a resolution must be passed by shareholders holding more than two-thirds (2/3) of the voting rights, which is that 67% threshold.
