Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 831:- Exceeding Expectations

Due to the arrow, Cain could not speak. He just gave Kael a sad smile before slowly closing his eyes. This was the consequence of war. Losing the ones that you care about is normal. The price of war was blood. Swoosh!!!!

Scott wasnʼt done there. He saw this as the perfect opportunity to take one of their strongest generals out as well. So he fired 7 arrows at once. ”I am going to kill you!!” Kaelʼs eyes looked red from anger and rage.

It seems the anger from losing a brother has made him forget why he had retreated in the first place. The arrows did not move in one straight line. Instead, just like before, the arrows were moving in a zig-zag motion, making it very difficult for Kael to predict the trajectory of the arrows. Seeing this, Kael created three three-meter-tall and one-meter-thick walls of sand. He thought that the arrows would hit the sand wall, but he was wrong. The arrows flew over the sand wall and started descending on him. Kael was caught off guard. This whole scenario was out of his expectations. In a hurry, he jumped back.

Just as he made the made, a figure silently appeared to his right and hit his right shoulder. Bang....!!!

Kael was sent flying by the attack. He landed 90 meters away. ”You donʼt look so well, General Kael?” Asked another General who was a mage. She has been launching spells from the back. Her name was Natasha. She was a centuries-old colleague of Kael. Both of them became Generals almost around the same time. Kael ignored her and looked at the person who attacked him. It was a man carrying a greatsword on his right shoulder. ”Now youʼre up against the fathers of two Goddesses.” The man with the greatsword was none other than Adam. ”Congratulations!! You might be the first person in the world to fight the fathers of two Goddesses simultaneously.”

”General, you should have noticed that our cannons arenʼt working, right?” Natasha asked in a calm tone. Kael used this opportunity to look back. Just as she said, the soldiers who were responsible for firing the cannons seemed to be having a very hard time. From this distance, he can see they were having trouble operating the cannons. ”They did this. Though, I am not sure how.”

”A part of me feels frightened.” ”This suggests that their side has someone who is capable of infiltrating our army.” Kael nodded his head. ”Our number might be slightly greater than theirs, but in a war, quantity doesnʼt always mean everything.” Natasha looked at the ongoing fight between Robert and the girls. She had long realized that if those girls werenʼt fighting Robert now, then by now, the tide of this war would have been in their favor. Not to mention, their biggest force hadnʼt even come to the battlefield yet. ”What do you suggest?” Kael asked. ”Continue fighting!!” ”But someone needs to stop the flying ships.” ”The combination of those strange weapons that are capable of shooting 1000s of arrows at once and the powerful Solar cannons that can even take out beginner 5th-order cultivators is very dangerous for us. One of us generals will have to take the lead in the sky battle.” ”Also, we need to solve the problem with our cannons as soon as possible. Losing the cannons is like losing one of our limps.” ”Alright!! I will deal with these two first before heading to the sky. As for you, slowly retreat under the cover of other 5th-order cultivators and see if you find any problem with the cannons.” Natasha nodded his head. Watching Kael leave, she sighed, feeling mentally exhausted. She hated wars. But there was nothing that she could do about it. Even if she was against wars, she could not defy the orders of His Majesty. Natasha agreed to serve Charles because he promised to provide her with the resources needed to reach Peak 5th-order and Higher Order. At that time, she was very young and wanted nothing but to reach the peak as soon as possible. Considering the temptation to acquire resources from an Empire, serving the Emperor seems like a minor issue at that time. But as centuries and thousands of years passed, Natasha realized the kind of mistake she had made. At first, she did not feel anything about this. Then, some doubts were born in her mind. She began to question some of her actions. And over the centuries, that doubt kept growing. Now, she feels nothing but regret. Just like her, there were many others who wanted to regain their freedom. With the soul-binding contract, there was simply no escape for them. They had become Charlesʼs slaves. Natasha easily dodged the thin needle that was aimed at her back. ”You will have to do more if you want to kill me.” She turned around and looked at Eleanor. ”Youʼre not even a 5th-order yet. What makes you think that you can fight me?” Natasha wasnʼt looking down on her or being arrogant. She was just curious and wanted to know. ”I am not alone!!!” Just as she said, many pairs of chains came out of the ground and wrapped around her legs and waist. ”Interesting!!!” Rain of Poison Needles!

She saw hundreds of black arrows descending on her. Her expression did not change seeing this. She calmly snapped her fingers. A strong wind current changed the direction of the arrows towards Eleanor. Mist!!!

But Eleanor had long disappeared. When the general broke free from the black chains, she found herself trapped within a thick mist, making it impossible to see anything. ʼWhere are they?ʼ Natasha had long realized that she wasnʼt just fighting one general. She was fighting two Generals. While Eleanor had shown herself, the Captain of the Shadow Guardians was nowhere to be seen. ʼEven though I am a Peak 5th-order, even I canʼt sense Nathanʼs Aura.ʼ As for Eleanor, she could faintly sense his Aura, but it was very vague. She seems to be keeping a distance from her. ʼWhat are they planning?ʼ Natasha was well aware of just how dangerous these two were. She was especially wary of Nathan. This guy was completely unpredictable. Suddenly, a strong golden beam cut through the thick mist and came towards her. Natasha barely avoided the solar beam when hundreds of black arrows began raining on her. ”Wind Blades....!!”

Silver wind blades easily cut through all the arrows. Taking advantage of this, the two generals charged at her from two sides. This time, they did not hide themselves.

”I can sense you two!!” Although she could not sense their Auras, she was able to hear the sound of their footsteps. When she was able to see them, she was stunned. These two figures were shadows made using shadow manipulation.

ʼI have been tricked. No wonder I did not sense any of their Auras.ʼ

Natasha panicked when she realized that she had fallen into their trap. At that moment, she faintly sensed Nathanʼs Aura in the shadow. She didnʼt hesitate to rush in that direction with a spell that would force him out of the shadow. But as she took a few steps in Nathanʼs direction, the ground beneath her suddenly exploded. Booooom.....!!!

The explosion released a lot of the rainbow powder. Once she inhaled the rainbow powder, her sense became weak and distorted. Using this chance, Nathan and Eleanor came out of hiding and rushed at her from two sides. ʼThose explosives were the real trap!!!ʼ Natasha realized that Nathan intentionally leaked his Aura so that she could go in his direction. He must have planted those traps when she was busy dodging the solar beam and the poison arrows. The explosives did no damage to her. But the rainbow powder that she inhaled did. Now, her senses were screwed. ”Just because you have messed with my senses doesnʼt mean that I have completely become blind,” Natasha said as she noticed two blurry figures coming at her from the left and right directions. ”Freeze!!!”

Neither of the generals was able to dodge or react before their bodies were frozen in ice. Swoosh...!!!

At the same moment, something moved incredibly fast towards her. ”Hahaha!!! I am a Peak 5th-order. There is no way that two Peak 4th-order cultivators would defeat me.” ”I cannot accept such defeat!!!” Bang.....!!!

With trembling hands, she touched the cold metal object that had just pierced her stomach. She saw the blurry face of a man in front of her. ”Who are you...cough!!!” She coughed out a large mouthful of blood. ”Trevor Prince!!! A servant of the Dragon Monarch!!” Shatter....!!

Nathan and Eleanor also broke out of the ice.

”Everything was part of the plan?” Natasha felt really bitter. Where were all the 5th-order cultivators when she needed them the most?

She was left alone to face three strong opponents?

ʼI have been dancing in their palms all along.ʼ This realization made her feel very bitter. ”Kind of!!” ”But the last part was out of our calculations.” Nathan and Eleanor made the mistake of underestimating her. Even if her senses screwed, she was still a Peak 5th-order. They gave her the opening she needed to freeze them with her spell.

Fortunately, Trevor managed to land the final blow. As her senses returned to normal, she looked around. Just a few thousand meters away, she could see Kael panting. There were a few wounds on his body.

Kael was being overwhelmed by Adam and Ronnie. As for other 5th-order cultivators from their side, most of them have already been defeated and captured by the enemy. ”Do you surrender or....?” The rest didnʼt need to be said. Natasha gave a bitter smile before she fell to her knees. ”I give up!!” A slave collar was placed around her neck, and a 4-star healing pill was fed to her after the spear was taken out of her stomach. Meanwhile, in the sky, The situation for the Dune Soveriegntyʼs sky force had only become worse. Their numbers were shrinking faster than sand slipping through fingers.

The vice-captain of the Sky Force looked at the scene around him. Their loss was in thousands per second. None of the flying mounts were even able to get close to 500 meters of range of any of the flying ships. The flying ships werenʼt scattered alone. Rather, each of their positions was perfectly coordinated. Each ship was positioned in a way that covered the weakness of another ship. And their deadly, perfectly coordinated attacks made it nearly impossible to find any openings to get anywhere close to any of the flying ships. The plan was that after each ship finished firing its solar beams and arrows, the time needed to reload would allow the forces to advance and attack the ships from close range. This was the strategy they had agreed upon before the battle. But in reality, things didnʼt go as planned.

Whenever one ship finished its attack, others would cover for it, giving it enough time to reload and fire again. The formation of the ships was so precise that there wasnʼt a single weakness. Initially, they mistakenly believed there were gaps in the formation and tried to exploit them. However, each time they advanced, they found themselves falling into traps, leading to heavy losses. The strategy turned out to be a costly misjudgment.

Even though one of the key players from the opponent side was captured, the situation was still far from looking favorable. The biggest reason for that was none other than Robert, who exceeded everyoneʼs expectations with his powers. ”I donʼt know why your Dragon Monarch isnʼt coming, but I am running out of patience.” ”I have decided to kill you all.” ”I am done playing!!”

”I will begin with you!!” Robert turned to Victoria. Robert appeared in front of her, Victoria, and grabbed her throat while raising her from the ground. Seeing this, everyone was stunned. This was the fastest that they had seen him move. Never, even if they couldnʼt follow his movements, they at least saw some blurs, but now, it was so fast that none of them even knew what had happened.

In their eyes, he was standing away from them. But less than a second later, he was holding Victoriaʼs throat. Ah...!!!

”Yeah!! Thatʼs right!!” He did not crush her throat. He simply exerted enough strength to choke her to death. He wanted choke her to death. ”You have been really annoying this whole time.” Even when she tried to free herself with all of her might, it did not work. Her attempts to free herself seem to have no effect on him. ”Victoria...!!” The girls rushed to save her. ”Stay down, bugs!!” Boooooom.....!!!

All the girls were pinned to the ground. This time, the gravity on their bodies was even higher than before. Riya was finding it extremely hard to bear this pressure as she wasnʼt even a Peak 5th-order yet. Her body wasnʼt as strong as a Peak 5th-orderʼs body. And here, even Peak 5th-order were struggling. ʼAm I really going to die?ʼ Victoria asked herself. ʼAditya, where are you?ʼ She looked at the sky.
