Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 830:- Price of War

Meanwhile, on the same battlefield, Spencer and others were fighting another cruel battle. The entire battlefield was focused on a few individuals. The fight between the Strongest Dragonian and the Commander of the enemy Empire was still going on. Due to their speed, hardly anybody was able to keep up with their battle. Fortunately, before the fight began, both sides had retreated to a safe distance.

Spencer and others watched with hopes that being caught in between two massive attacks would at least injure the enemy commander. But he came out of the smoke without any injuries. He was completely fine. ”How is that even possible?” ”That attack itself could have destroyed a city.” Everyone looked at Robert in a mix of shock and disbelief. Sigh...!!

ʼAs expected, this guy is our biggest and most difficult challenge in this war.ʼ Spencer already had a feeling that their Commander was going to be the most challenging part of this war. After all, why would Charles hand the commanderʼs position to someone they have never seen or heard of before? ”Spencer!!!” A few figures landed beside Spencer. It was Aliciaʼs father and brother.

Ronnie and Noah were here to assist the Istarin Empire. Ronnie was a Peak 5th-order, so he could offer a lot in this battle. Seeing this father going to the battlefield, Noah also tagged along. Behind them, there was another figure. It was Nora. It was the same Succubus woman who saw Aditya take down millions of mutated ants on the border of their Empire. Since that incident in the Ethereal Empire, Nora has cultivated diligently. Now, she has managed to reach the mid-5th order. She was behind Noah because she was brought here to guard Noah and ensure the current Emperor of the Ethereal Empire didnʼt die. Ronnie never wanted Noah to come, but Noah was very insistent. So, he gave Nora the order to protect Noah from all sorts of danger. Aside from them, five other 5th-order cultivators from the Ethereal Empire have joined the army. ”Sir Ronnie?” Spencer was surprised to see the Former Emperor and the father of the Goddess. ”We saw the massive collision between two spears. We hurried came here.” Ronnie briefly glanced at Kael and others before turning his attention to Robert. ”I guess those girls are going to help Victoria?” Ronnie asked. ”Yes!!” ”Without joining hands, it would be impossible to take him down.” ”Where is Aditya?” Ronnie asked while frowning. The one who could deal with this person wasnʼt here. Because of the relationship between their Empires, it was normal for them to send reinforcement. And because Aditya was his son-in-law, Ronnie personally came here. Around the same time, reinforcements from other allies also came. The Echo Dominion Empire sent six Fifth-Order cultivators. More troops were on their way. The Fifth-Orders arrived early because of their fast speed. The same could be said for the Ethereal Empire. Just a second later, another group of cultivators landed behind Spencer. They were reinforcements from the Celestial Terrain. The Celestial Terrain sent Five of their Fifth-Order cultivators. ”Aditya went to Stardawn.” ”Where is that?” Noah and the others looked confused. ”Stardawn is a small pocket Dimension world.” Ronnie had heard of this place once from his mother. When his mom was young, she had been to that small world.

”Canʼt you send a message asking him to return?” Noah asked. ”Itʼs not that simple!! If I could, I already would have done so. But I believe, by now, the news should have reached his ears. He would be here at any given moment now.” ”They are charging!!!”

When the girls sided with Victoria against Robert, Kael commanded the Dune Sovereignty troops to charge forward.

”Everyone, donʼt hold back!!” With that, Spencer, the 6 six generals, the Dragon warriors, and the Dragonians, along with all the reinforcement, ran forward with their weapons. The war had officially started. ”Solar Cannons fire!!!”

Hundreds of Flying Ships fired hundreds of Solar beams at the flying mounts that were charging at them. Due to the terrifying power that is enough to take out a Beginner 5th-order cultivator and the speed of the attack, 99.9% of them could not dodge the solar beams. The moment the beam touched their bodies, their bodies instantly turned to ashes. Ahhhhh....!!!

At the same time, the archers under Scottʼs command began shooting arrows from the deck of the flying ships. Since the Flying ships were covered with Advanced Defensive barriers, the arrows from the enemy side couldnʼt harm the flying ships or anyone on the ships. Hundreds of thousands of arrows rained down on the Dune Sovereignty soldiers. Percy, the genius blacksmith of the Istarin Empire was able to replicate the weapons that Felix previously sold to the Istarin Empire. Not only was he able to replicate the weapons to perfection, but he also was able to make them better. One such example is the Arrowstorm Harbinger, which can shoot 100 arrows at once. Percy was able to increase the capacity of this weapon to 1000 without losing the arrowʼs speed and power. All the arrows of the second-generation Arrowstorm Harbinger are made from Elderwood that was provided by the Goddess of Nature. The power of normal arrows is limited and can only harm 2nd and 3rd-order cultivators at most. Using arrows crafted from Elderwood made each of the thousand arrows extremely dangerous. Each of the Elderwood arrows is capable of taking down even 4th-order cultivators. Very few Peak 4th-order cultivators will be able to survive an attack from this arrow. With solar beams and thousands of arrows shooting from each second-generation Arrowstorm Harbinger, the sky became crowded with arrows and glowing golden rays. Everything was so overwhelming for the enemy that it charged towards the flying ships using their mounts that no enemy was able to get within 1000 meters of the flying shipsʼ range. Boooooom!!!!

Booooooooooom!!!!

Kael, who was fighting Ronnie, noticed how quickly their flying mounts were taken out. ʼThis is bad!! At this rate, our sky forces will be wiped out within 10 to 20 minutes.ʼ Their sky forces were meant to take out the flying ships and also attack the Istarin troops from the sky. But it seems they had far underestimated the capabilities of the flying ships. ʼThese flying ships are way stronger and more agile than we thought.ʼ Kael realized that the Istarin Empire intentionally never released any information about their latest generation of flying ships. ʼI need to retreat for a second!!ʼ Kael dodged Ronnieʼs lightning spell while closing the distance between them. When it came to close combat, the former Emperor was nowhere good as one of the oldest Generals of the Dune Sovereignty. Kael easily dodged Ronnieʼs strikes. He punched him in the stomach before sending him flying with a powerful kick in his chest. Bang.....!!!

Using this chance, Kael retreated back. ”What happened to our Cannons?” He asked his right-hand man who was firing multiple arrows at the enemies. But his arrows were being countered by an elven General from the enemy side. ”Cannons?” The 6-foot-6 giant with tan skin and a dark yellow bow in his strong, veiny arms looked confused. This whole time he was busy firing arrows. How would he know what happened to their cannons?

But once Kael mentioned cannons, Cain realized that till now, he hadnʼt heard the sound of a single cannon from their side being fired at the enemy. ”What happened?” Just when he lost focus, Scott fired 5 arrows at Cain. Cain was startled. He hastily managed to counter two of the five arrows but the other three moved in a zig-zag motion and was about to hit him. Kael grabbed grabbed two of the three arrows. He thought he would also grab the last arrow but the last arrow unexpectedly exploded before he could reach it. Booooooom.....!!

The explosion instantly released black smoke around them. Their visions were blocked due to the black smoke. Swoosh!!!

”That was a trap!!!” Realizing this, Kael grabbed Cainʼs left arm and pulled him out of the smoke. But as he came out of the smoke, he heard the sound of his right-hand man coughing. Cough...!!

When he looked at Cain, he found that a green arrow had pierced his throat. The tip of the arrow came out from his neck. ”But how....!!!” Cain was still in disbelief. The moment he realized that this was a trap, he set up a defensive barrier to protect himself from the upcoming arrows. But this green arrow cut through his defense like it was nothing. ”Cain.....!!!” Kael grabbed Cain when he started to fall to the ground. ”Hey!! Stay with me!!” Cain has been his right-hand man for many centuries now. In some way, Cain was like the little brother that he never had. Due to the arrow, Cain could not speak. He just gave Kael a sad smile before slowly closing his eyes. This was the consequence of war. Losing the ones that you care about is normal. The price of war was blood. •••

Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield,

Suddenly, the sky changed. The dark clouds covered the sky. Seeing this, he looked at the sky. ”So, you finally decided to come out.” Robert grinned like a madman. The girls also looked at the sky. Roar...!!!

The dark clouds were pushed away by a gigantic snake-like Dragon that was made from Crimson Flames. The fire dragon charged at Robert at full speed. ”Hahaha!!!” For a moment, his focus was on the fire dragon. As a result, the effect of the gravity compression was lowered, which allowed the girls to retreat. ”Letʼs see whose attack is strong!!” With the snap of his fingers, he created a massive 100-meter-long ice dragon. But as just the two dragons were about to collide, the Crimson Fire Dragon mysteriously faded. ”Hmmm?” Robert was confused seeing this. He did not understand what Aditya was planning. But he became very cautious. This was the Dragon Monarch. Even if he had an advantage against Divine Dragons, he could not be careless. A moment of carelessness can change the entire tide of the battle. Meanwhile, the girls had retreated to a safe distance. ”Is he finally here?” Lilith couldnʼt help but ask.

She, along with everyone else, felt very relieved. ”Unfortunately, no!!!” Luna came out of hiding. ”So it was you!!” Amber had a feeling that this was an illusion. Luna silently nodded her head. Luna was done helping Spencer plant some traps for the enemy. Once she was done, she rushed to help the girls against Robert. The original plan was for the girls to join hands in taking down Robert. But his power far exceeded their imagination. ”Sorry about earlier!!” Luna was talking about the time when Victoria took the attack that was meant for Sasha and saved her life. ”That guy was moving too fast. I couldnʼt react in time to save you.” Sasha paused for a second and looked at Luna. This was the same woman who lost to her mom in the last war. Now, she was fighting with them and was even assisting them. ”Itʼs alright!!” Sasha did not hold her accountable. If Victoria hadnʼt used Adityaʼs Crimson Wrap Flash, then she might have died today. ”It seems illusion might work against him,” Lilith observed Robert from a distance and said out loud. Robert was looking at his surroundings. His eyes were on the sky. Dark clouds loomed overhead, with countless red lightning bolts snaking through them. It felt like the bolts were poised to strike him at any moment.

”No, it wonʼt work!!” Luna shook her head. ”People like Aditya and him are just too strong. Their mental strength can be compared to that of a mid-6th order, or perhaps even higher.”

”This is what makes dealing with Calamity Class cultivators so annoying.” Luna herself sounded frustrated. No matter how hard she tried, she never was able to make her illusion work against such people.

It was just as Luna said. Robert began to notice that something was off. He turned his head towards the girls and found an unfamiliar girl. ”So it was you?” His eyes became very cold and sharp.

Seeing this, Luna began to tremble. She hid behind Lilith. ”I donʼt know why your Dragon Monarch isnʼt coming, but I am running out of patience.” ”I have decided to kill you all.”
