Dragon Monarch System

Chapter 821:- Change in Deal

In Dune Sovereignty Empire, ”Gather all the items on this list as soon as possible.” The King of the Dune Soverinty, Charles, handed a list to his new butler Sebastian. Sebastian was originally a slave. Around 576 years ago, Charlesʼs butler saw him in the slave market. The Head Butler was very impressed by Sebastianʼs organizing skills.

At that time, Sebastian was helping his slave master organize everything. Sebastian was adopted by Charlesʼs butler. The plan was to let Sebastian slowly train into a perfect butler. Unfortunately, Sebastian was good at organizing and counting numbers; he was very bad with household chores. He often made mistakes in things that anybody can do. Sebastian cannot cook, and his cleaning and washing skills do not meet the standard of a butler. In the end, he kept an expenditure report for the entire Royal Palace. Now that Charles needed a new butler, Sebastian was promoted to that role. Of course, compared to his original butler, Sebastian was lacking in many areas. Charles clearly felt his inexperience, but he did not mind. Sebastian was the best option that he currently had. Besides, he was someone whom he could trust. Sebastian took the list from the Emperor and briefly glanced at it.

”Sebastian, buying all the things in this list from our Empireʼs Capital will be very costly. Send some trusted people to the Istarin Empire or the Kingdom nearby it to buy these goods. Make sure each person purchases only one item, or if buying multiple items, buy in smaller quantities to avoid attracting attention.”

This way, Charles will be able to save at least a few million Royal Gold Coins. Later, this money can be invested in the military. ”Understood!!” ”Alright!! You may leave now.” Sebastian politely bowed to his Master and then silently left the room. Meanwhile, Robert, the ancient hero, lay on one of the long couches.

For some reason, Robert looked slightly disturbed today. ”If things go according to plan, then we will launch a surprise attack tonight.” Normally, Charles would want to take more time in preparation, but Robert was in a hurry. Due to Robert, Charles was forced to speed things up. Fortunately, The Dune Sovereignty is constantly at war with some Kingdom. So their entire military is used to war. The basic preparation didnʼt take much time. Charles paused for a second to look at Robert, who hadnʼt responded yet. It almost looked as if he was sleeping. ”Did you hear what I said?” Charles asked in an irritated tone. If this guy wasnʼt his only chance against Aditya, Charles wouldnʼt have bothered to keep him around. He was risking everything that he had, including his life, on this guy, yet he was showing such a lazy attitude. This truly irritated Charles. Losing his right-hand man, Eldric, and His son, Garrick, has changed a ton of things. Now Charles was busier than ever. For the first time, he was feeling the weight of his duties. Before, Eldric used to take care of 90% of his work. This allowed him to completely focus on their conquest. This is what allowed Charles to expand his Empire. ”There is no mistaking it!!” Robert opened his eyes and said. ”Mistaking what?” Charles was confused. But Robert ignored him and continued. ”Allen is dead!!” ”Allen, who?” Robert paused and looked at confused Charles. ”Allen was my master. I was sent here by his orders.” ”As he died, I felt something in my soul. I wasnʼt able to guess what caused this ripple effect to spread across my soul. But now, I finally understand.”

”Allen is dead!!” For some reason, these simple three words scared Charles. Charlesʼs breathing quickened as a thought crossed his mind. ʼNow that his master is dead, he doesnʼt need to follow his Masterʼs orders, which means He doesnʼt need to fight the Dragon Monarch.ʼ Charles realized just how screwed he was. Now that he had already made preparations for a massive war, it wonʼt be long before the enemy realized this. Even if the Dune Sovereignty stops, there is a high chance that Aditya might strike them. ʼI am sure that woman Emma was also sent by them.ʼ ”I see!! Thatʼs good for you.” Charlesʼs smile appeared strained. It was like he was forcing himself to smile. ”What are you going to do now?” He asked while trying to hide his nervousness. If Robert backed out of this then The Dune Sovereignty would lose this war even before it started. Robert saw his nervous look. He smirked as he understood why Robert looked so shaken now. ʼHis heart is beating too fast.ʼ ʼWhat a weak coward!!ʼ Robert thought to himself. Now that he wasnʼt tied to Allen anymore, Robert felt as if he had finally gained his freedom. The Soul-Binding Contract with Allen was suppressing some aspects of his emotions. Such as his desire to see new places or do anything beyond the orders of his masters. But that doesnʼt mean Robert has changed. He was still the same as before. ʼI am not going to back out of a fight. Itʼs not my style.ʼ Even back in the days when he had a chance to escape, he didnʼt. In this day and age, he felt the only thing that excited him was the thought of fighting the Dragon Monarch to death. ʼIf I win, then I will devour his Divine Blood before heading to the Main Continent to pursue higher-order cultivation.ʼ

ʼAnd if I lose, this will be the end of me.ʼ Robert closed his eyes. He finally felt some peace in his heart. After a long time, his heart was set on something. Before, while being under Allenʼs control, he always felt that something very important in his life was missing. Now he understood what this missing feeling was. It was freedom. It was the Freedom to choose what he wanted to do, not the other way around. ʼAt least I wonʼt have to return to that stupid world anymore and sleep in a chamber for another decade or two.ʼ Robert was very glad that this had changed. ʼI really want to thank the person who has killed Allen.ʼ

Meanwhile, Charles was increasingly becoming nervous as Allen did not respond. He was so nervous that he was sweating. A drop of sweat slowly rolled down his cheek before falling from his chin. ”Donʼt worry, King Charles, our contract is still valid. Itʼs not like I can walk out of this contract.” ʼThatʼs true!! However, the contract never specified that the war had to be fought within a few days. There wasnʼt any time frame in the contract. Meaning, he can essentially ignore the contract.ʼ This is worried Charles. ”Since I have given you my word, I will keep it. I will see the end of our deal. Either I will go out fighting the Dragon Monarch, or I will treat him.” Hearing this, Charles felt very relieved. It was like the weight of a mountain had been lifted from his shoulders. ”Donʼt celebrate yet!!” Charles glanced at Robert. He found him smirking. ”Now that I am not obligated to fulfill any orders, I want something if we win this war.”

”What?” Charles asked. ”I want 1/4th of the entire Istarin Empireʼs territory.” Charles wanted to reject Robert. After all, even 1/4th of the entire Istarin Empireʼs territory wasnʼt small. But after thinking for a moment, he agreed. At least, the greed of getting 1/4th of the entire Istarin Empireʼs territory will keep him in this war. Charles wonʼt need to worry about him suddenly running away. ”Also, I want half of all the gold coins, treasures, and artifacts that we will find in the Dragon Monarchʼs treasure vault.” Hearing this, Charles couldnʼt keep his expression straight. This was too much to give up. Charles knew the value of what Robert was asking him. There was no way that he would give half of the treasury to Robert. ”No!!” Charles rejected Robert without even thinking of the consequences of his answer.

A cold smile appeared on Robertʼs face. ”Are you sure?” As someone who invested heavily in his own Empireʼs magic and rune research, he knew the value of gold coins and artifacts. There was no way that he was handing half of these things to Robert. ”I donʼt understand why you would even need such things?” Charles asked in a frustrated tone. ”I am going to own 1/4th of the entire Istarin Empireʼs territory. How am I supposed to run a Kingdom without money?”

”Then I will give you 2/3rd of all the gold coins that we find in the Istarin Empire,” Charles said without any hesitation.

Charles spoke without thinking. Without even realizing it, he was showing Robert a glimpse of his true character.

Robertʼs smile only grew upon hearing this. ”King Charles, I am basically clearing your biggest obstacle, yet youʼre offering so little. I donʼt see your sincerity.”

”And if I donʼt see your sincerity, then I am afraid you will need to find a replacement.” Robert stood up with his hands in his pockets. Seeing this, Charles gritted his teeth in anger. ʼReplacement? Where the heck am I supposed to find a replacement? And if I could find a replacement, I already would have replaced you.ʼ

”Alright!! I agree!!” Charles avoided looking at Robert, fearing his smirk would only enrage him further.

”Smart choice!!” ----------------

Really Thank you very much to all those who send support with valuable golden tickets. I hope we can keep it up!!!

Guys, sorry for not uploading properly the last few days. Actually, I have been busy with my university. The deadline was today, so I had to hurry otherwise, I would have lost a huge opportunity. From tomorrow, I will try to go back to uploading two chapters per day.
