Chapter 814:- Forced Betrayal

”Remove his mask!!” Robert heard a familiar voice ordering someone to remove the mask that had been covering his face for two days now.

Robert Thawne Allen was his full name.

He is the clan leader of the Sapphire clan.

The Sapphire clan is one of the seven clans that rule Stardawn. Around a hundred years back, the Sapphire clan was the weakest clan in Stardawn. However, when Robert became the clan leader, the power and reputation of the clan rapidly began to rise. The actions that he took to strengthen his clan really paid off. Within a century, the ranking of the clan went from being at the very bottom to being the 4th strongest. It was a matter of time before the Sapphire clan became the 3rd strongest clan in Stardawn. Even within the main continent, Robert is well known. In the Main Continent, people knew him for himself else.

People know him as one of the most trusted men of the Divine Serpent Sectʼs Leader. Robert himself is a member of the Divine Serpent Sect. It has been close to 89 years since Robert, who is also the clan leader and one of the major figures of Stardawn, joined the Divine Serpent Sect.

Robert is a cultivation genius. He isnʼt even 200 years old, yet he has managed to reach Mid Sixth Order.

People say that Robertʼs and his clanʼs fate is extremely bright. They say that his people have a bright future due to their leaderʼs talent in cultivation.

Since he has managed to come this far within less than two centuries, there is no doubt that Robert will be able to become one of the strongest figures in the entire world. When that happens, nobody will dare to offend him or his clan.

The status and power of his clan will surpass the other six clans, and the Sapphire clan will become the true dominating powerhouse in this pocket dimension.

No one doubted that this was the future of Stardawn. Everyone can see the present heading in that direction. Some even called this future the Golden Age of the Sapphire Clan. Among all the current seven clan leaders, Robert was the most talented one in cultivation. He has not lost a battle since he was 12 years old. This becomes even more special given that he is almost 200 years old and has fought over 10,000+ battles.

Whether itʼs in the Stardawn or in the main continent, Robert has never lacked opponents.

If Robert continues to grow in the Divine Serpent Sect, then there is no doubt that in the future, he will become one of the most respected and powerful Elders in the Divine Serpent Sect. It was even rumored that since the Sect Leader trusted Robert so much, he planned to promote Robert to the Elder of the Sect as soon as he reached Peak 6th-order.

If this were to happen, then he would become the first clan leader from Stardawn who has managed to become an Elder in the Divine Serpent Sect.

With his rise in reputation and increase in power, everything was looking really good and bright, but then something unexpected happened that forced him to immediately return to his home world.

It was the sudden and mysterious death of his clan members.

This all started around a year back.

Just 20 years after joining the Divine Serpent Sect, Robert has managed to become an inner disciple. He had to permanently stay on the main continent and give his priority to his Sect.

Becoming the inner discipline of the Divine Serpent Sect came with lots of responsibilities.

Robert did not want to give the impression that he was slacking off and wasnʼt fulfilling his duties properly. Robert and his clan had one ambition, and that was for him to quickly and continuously rise in power and reputation within the Sect. The main aim was to become an Elder of this powerful and respected Sect.

After all, The Divine Serpent Sect was one of the most powerful Sect on the main continent, and becoming the elder of this Sect was a huge thing. The benefits that their entire clan would receive due to Robert becoming an elder of this Sect were just too many and too tempting to resist.

So, he had no choice but to leave all of his duties and responsibilities as a clan leader to the supreme elder and the remaining elders of his clan.

But about a year ago, the young members from his client started mysteriously disappearing. When the elders looked deeper into it, they found the corpses of their clan members in various parts of the pocket dimension world. Originally, the elders of the clan wanted to resolve this issue without bothering their leader since their leader had much more important things to do in the main continent.

However, even after an entire year, all the elders failed to find the culprit responsible for this. Within the span of 12 months, 221 young members of their clan were killed.

Knowing that they could not ignore this matter any longer, the elders sent a message to Robert.

Upon returning, Robert quickly learned who was responsible for this. And when he went to confront the culprit, he was betrayed by one of his clan members.

The one who betrayed him was the elder who followed him to this place. It was Elder Ryan.

As the mask was removed, Robert was able to see everything and the faces of everyone standing before him.

”Allen Morningstar, you bastard!!!!” Seeing the face of the man who was responsible for everything, Robert roared in anger.

Robert looked like a man in his 30s. In the world of cultivation, he was still very young. He wasnʼt even 200 years old. Robert was 5 feet 11 inches tall, with tanned skin and beautiful deep purple hair that reached his mid-back. He tied his hair into a ponytail, and some parts of it covered his forehead. Robert was a handsome single man. Burdened with his duties and expectations from a very young age, Robert never tried any relationship. The most attractive thing about Robert was his beautiful Sapphire Eyes. It wasnʼt just him who had these beautiful gem-like eyes; every member of the clan had these unique eyes. Every member of the Sapphire clan had a very strong affinity with lightning. They are the only ones in the whole world who can use Purple Lightning. ”Ryan, you son of a bitch, how can you do this to me and your clan?” Robertʼs eyes were red.

”Is this how you pay back to the clan that birthed you and raised you?” Hearing Robertʼs words, Ryan looked very uncomfortable. He did not even look at Robert; instead, he looked somewhere else as if he felt too ashamed and guilty to look at his former leader.

”Say something, you pathetic coward!!!” Robert was held by multiple chains. Chains were tied around his legs, preventing him from moving at all. There were also changes around his wrists.

On both sides, 20 people were holding the chains that held Robert. With his cultivation suppressed, Robert was as weak as a normal human. These chains werenʼt any normal chains. These chains can suppress a cultivatorʼs cultivation and temporarily turn any cultivator into a normal being.

Seeing that Ryan was feeling uncomfortable and was even feeling guilty, Allen stepped forward with a gentle smile on his face. ”Elder Ryan, there is no need for you to feel guilty.” ”A small sacrifice for the greater good of Stardawn.” He called the death of 221 young members of the Sapphire clan a small but inevitable sacrifice. ”You bitch, how dare you call that a small sacrifice. You basically tried to cripple our clanʼs future by killing our young ones.” The ages of the ones that were killed varied from 18 to 30. In the next few decades, these were the ones who would have replaced the previous generation. This is a huge loss for the Sapphire clan that Robert cannot tolerate. And the fact that Allen called this nothing but a small sacrifice made him even angrier. ”If youʼre a man, then remove these chains, and letʼs fight.” However, Allen glances at Robert for a second before he looks at Ryan. Allen put his hand on Ryanʼs shoulder and squeezed it firmly. Ryan also looked at him. ”Remember why youʼre doing this,” Allen said in a very gentle tone. Slowly, a sly grin started forming on his face as he continued. ”If you did not do this, then what would happen to your five children and your wife?” Hearing this, Ryan looked at the ground and then tightly squeezed his eyes as if he wanted to escape this reality. He tightly clenched his fists. His shoulders trembled. The very first victim who was kidnapped was Ryanʼs wife. This followed with his five children. In the end, Ryan had no choice but to help Allen by kidnapping other young ones of his clan. Not a single hour passes without Ryan feeling regret and guilt for his actions. He basically backstabbed the very people that he swore to protect. After a moment of silence, Ryan took a deep breath that seemed to fill him with determination to continue on this dark and violent path. He then opened his eyes and looked at Allen. ”I understand!!!” He said in a low tone. ”Good!!” Allen nodded his head with a very gentle, kind smile. ”I like your attitude.” Meanwhile, Robert calmed down a little as he realized why Ryan betrayed him. But this did not diminish his anger. Rather, his anger towards Allen increased even more. ”Allen, why did you do this to my clan?” Robert yelled at Allen. Allen closed his eyes while covering them. He had an uncomfortable look on his face. ”Why are you always yelling?” He asked in a calm tone. When he opened his eyes, his pupils glowed in a golden color. ”You know very well why I am so angry.” ”You were the former Leader of the Stormfang Clan.” ”There was an agreement between all seven clans 241 years ago. The agreement clearly stated that no clan Leader will try to harm other clans. Why did you break your oath and do this?” Before this agreement, it was common for each clan to attempt to assassinate the leaders of other clans. Ninety percent of all clan leaders died because of the constant threat of assassination.

Every generation, this process was repeated. For tens of thousands of years, this continued happening until all the clans grew tired of it and decided to sign a Soul Binding contract.

Allen was the leader of the Stormfang Clan when the contract was signed 240 years ago. He was the one who proposed this contract to the other clan leaders. Itʼs ironic that despite taking the first step to bring peace and stability among the seven clans, he was also the one who broke the contract and is now targeting the Sapphire Clan.

But just nine years after that event, Allen retired, and he simply disappeared. He stepped down from all managerial positions of his clan. There was no news about him at all. Not even his Stormfang Clan knew what he was doing. There were rumors that he went to the main Continent to pursue higher cultivation. ”There was one last hidden condition in the contract that no other clan Leaders knew about. Not even the current Leader of my clan knows about this.” ”So simply put, this last condition was meant to benefit only me.” ”The condition started that once I stepped down from my role of being the Stormfang Clanʼs Leader, I wasnʼt tied to the Soul-Binding Contract anymore,” Robert said with a small smile. ”You deceived us!!!” ”My plan required me to take that step.”

”Let me explain what plan I am talking about.”

”You see...!!”
