Medical and Martial God

Chapter 450: Chapter 450: Two Tycoons Squabble

In a luxurious motorhome headed to Han Jin City Airport, Zhang Chuntao’s father, Zhang Shaoping, and the chairman of Runhua Pharmaceuticals, Cao Yang, were smoking cigars and drinking red wine with beaming smiles. Beside them, Ye Xiu’s godson, the top master on the global War God Ranking, Yin Tianxi, sat with his eyes closed, a sword cradled in his arms.

”Mr. Zhang, are you truly confident you can persuade Jin Lian to choose Runhua Pharmaceuticals?” Cao Yang asked.

”Ah, Cao Yang, you’ve asked me that eight times already. Relax. It’s a done deal, absolutely no problem,” Zhang Shaoping replied, a supremely confident smile on his face. Seeing Cao Yang was still a bit anxious, he asserted, ”Honestly, with the Zhang Family’s strength and the relationship between my son and Jin Lian, she will definitely choose our family first. After all, she’s here in Han Jin City representing Ye Xiu to find a partner. The only issue is that the Zhang Group doesn’t have a medical division. I was worried she would pick our family out of personal attachment and displease Ye Xiu, which is why I approached Runhua Pharmaceuticals.”

Hearing this, the apprehension in Cao Yang’s eyes finally vanished. He raised his glass and said, ”Now that you put it that way, Mr. Zhang, I feel relieved. Come, a toast to you.”

”To us becoming Ye Xiu’s partners in advance. Cheers,” Zhang Shaoping said, clinking his glass with Cao Yang’s.

The two men drained their glasses.

Yin Tianxi, still resting with his eyes closed, sneered inwardly. Jin Lian will be dead by my hand soon. Dream on if you think you’re becoming Ye Xiu’s partners.

Just then, the motorhome arrived at Han Jin City Airport. The three men stepped out and were stunned by the scene before them. The entire area around the airport was under complete martial law.

”So this is Ye Xiu’s influence,” Cao Yang remarked with emotion. ”The mere act of sending someone here to find a partner has prompted the Official Family to take it so seriously.”

”Indeed. When will my Zhang Family command such influence?” Zhang Shaoping was consumed by envy and jealousy for Ye Xiu at that moment.

Meanwhile, Yin Tianxi had a splitting headache. I came here to assassinate Jin Lian. With this many Patrol Officers around, how am I supposed to do it?

He was confident he could get away smoothly after the assassination, but he wasn’t sure he could do it without revealing his identity. Given Ye Xiu’s influence in the country, if it became known that he had killed the representative Ye Xiu sent to Han Jin City, his and the Yin Family’s reputation would be ruined.

”Dad, Chairman Cao, Uncle Yin!”

Zhang Chuntao and Yin Gaofei, who had arrived earlier and were waiting at the airport entrance, hurried over. Seeing his father with Cao Yang, Chuntao knew Runhua Pharmaceuticals had been tied to the Zhang Family’s cause. When Zhang Shaoping and Cao Yang saw them approach, Zhang Shaoping gave his son a knowing look, and Cao Yang offered a polite greeting.

”Gaofei, what happened to your face?” Yin Tianxi asked, frowning at his son’s bruised and swollen appearance.

”I was beaten!” Yin Gaofei said angrily.

Cao Yang was shocked. Yin Gaofei was the son of Yin Tianxi, the number one master on the global War God Ranking. Who would dare to beat him so badly? Did they have a death wish?

Zhang Shaoping, however, wasn’t surprised. He had already received a text from Zhang Chuntao on the way, informing him about what happened to Yin Gaofei.

”Bastard!” Yin Tianxi roared. ”Who did it?”

”A doctor from the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall,” Zhang Chuntao interjected. ”Uncle Yin, Song Mingde dared to have someone beat Gaofei! That’s a clear slap in your face. You must avenge him!”

Zhang Shaoping added, ”Mr. Yin, ever since you became the number one master on the global War God Ranking, who in the world would dare disrespect you? For Song Mingde to have your son beaten like this is a clear sign he holds you in contempt.”

The father and son played off each other, trying to incite Yin Tianxi into killing Song Mingde.

”Song Mingde is courting death!” Yin Tianxi declared, his killing intent flaring. ”I’ll make time to visit the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall and teach Song Mingde that the dignity of the number one master on the global War God Ranking is inviolable.”

Hearing this, Zhang Shaoping and Zhang Chuntao relaxed. Zhang Chuntao said, ”You won’t have to go to the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall. Song Mingde will be at the airport shortly.”

”Mm,” Yin Tianxi nodded. After I assassinate Jin Lian, I’ll teach Song Mingde a lesson in public.

”Dad, Uncle Yin, Chairman Cao, everyone else is already waiting inside. We should hurry over,” Zhang Chuntao said.

”Alright,” Zhang Shaoping and Cao Yang agreed.

Yin Tianxi’s eyes lit up. Assassinating Jin Lian inside the airport will keep me out of sight of the countless Patrol Officers and Special Combat Team members outside.

The group of four entered the airport. In the distance, they saw a large crowd standing by the edge of the tarmac. Among them were Han Jin City’s wealthy elite, hospital directors, pharmacy owners, and even many small-time bosses worth a few million. They were all waiting with eager anticipation. Yin Tianxi was thrilled to see that there wasn’t a single security guard on the tarmac. Under these conditions, killing Jin Lian would be incredibly simple.

”Looks like everyone got here early,” Zhang Shaoping said with a smile as he approached the crowd.

It was only then that the crowd noticed his group. Those who knew him greeted him warmly, while those who didn’t shamelessly tried to curry favor.

”Mr. Zhang, you’ve arrived quite late. It seems you’re not very enthusiastic about welcoming Jin Lian,” a handsome middle-aged man teased, his words laced with sarcasm.

He was Ling Yue, the head of the Ling Family, Han Jin City’s wealthiest man, and Ling Yun’s father.

Seeing Ling Yue start trouble, the crowd grew excited. Ling Yue was Han Jin City’s wealthiest man, while Zhang Shaoping was the second wealthiest. The Ling and Zhang Families were rivals, so the two men clashed every time they met.

”What’s the use of arriving early? We’d all just be waiting,” Zhang Shaoping replied with a smile. ”Besides, I’m determined to win the partnership Jin Lian is offering on behalf of Ye Xiu. Even if I hadn’t come, Jin Lian would have sought me out herself.”

His words shocked everyone present.

”Boasting so grandly in front of everyone, Mr. Zhang? Be careful Jin Lian doesn’t make you eat your words,” Ling Yue said with a laugh.

”My boasts always come true, just like with that plot of land last time,” Zhang Shaoping retorted sharply.

At the mention of the land, the expressions on many faces became intrigued. A month ago, the Ling and Zhang Families had competed for a piece of land. In the end, Zhang Shaoping outmaneuvered Ling Yue, and the plot fell into the Zhang Family’s hands.

”I’ll admit, I lost to you over that plot of land, Mr. Zhang. What do you say? Shall we make another bet today?” Ling Yue said provocatively.

”Bet on what?” Zhang Shaoping asked.

”If Jin Lian does not choose the Zhang Family during her trip to Han Jin City, you give that plot of land to me. If she does choose the Zhang Family, I’ll buy it from you for ten times the price. How about it?” Ling Yue stated his terms with a smile, causing an immediate uproar in the crowd.

Such stakes were a high-stakes gamble indeed! To sell a newly acquired, undeveloped plot of land for ten times its price was a dream come true for any real estate developer.

”Alright, you’re on!” Zhang Shaoping agreed without hesitation.

Ling Yue and Ling Yun both smiled. As Ye Xiu’s godson, Ling Yun was absolutely certain that Jin Lian would never choose the notorious Zhang Family.

Zhang Shaoping and Zhang Chuntao smiled as well. In their minds, Ling Yue had already lost this bet.

The onlookers sighed in amazement; the world of the rich was truly incomprehensible. How could they make such an extravagant bet so casually?

”Song Mingde is here!” someone suddenly exclaimed.

Instantly, everyone turned to look. They saw Ye Xiu, Song Yushu, Song Mingde, and Song Kaiwen approaching from a distance.

”Dad, that’s the bastard who hit me,” Yin Gaofei said to Yin Tianxi, pointing directly at Ye Xiu.
