Medical and Martial God

Chapter 449: Chapter 449: If I Don’t Avenge This Grudge, I Swear I’m Not Human

Upon seeing this, Zhang Chuntao smiled viciously. He utterly loathed Ye Xiu’s mouth; if it hadn’t been for that sharp tongue, he would have long since conned Song Mingde into selling his shares. The mere thought of Ye Xiu’s mouth being sliced off filled Zhang Chuntao with a thrill of revenge.

Meanwhile, Song Mingde and Song Kaiwen closed their eyes, unable to bear the bloody scene that was about to unfold. However, they had barely closed their eyes when a scream startled them, sending a shiver down their spines and snapping their eyes open again.

”Impossible...”

The voice belonged to Zhang Chuntao, so the moment Song Mingde and Song Kaiwen opened their eyes, they looked at him first. They found Zhang Chuntao staring wide-eyed, his face a mask of utter disbelief, as if he had seen a ghost.

What’s impossible?

The two followed Zhang Chuntao’s line of sight, and then they, too, stared in utter disbelief. They saw Ye Xiu’s left index and middle fingers clamped around the tip of Yin Gaofei’s Broad Sword.

”This...”

”How is this even possible?”

Yin Gaofei is a Martial Artist, and not just any Martial Artist—he’s the son of Yin Tianxi, the number one master on the global War God Ranking! A full-power thrust from his sword was actually caught between two of Ye Liangchen’s fingers? Could it be...

”You... you’re actually a Martial Artist...” Yin Gaofei exclaimed in shock, voicing the suspicion that everyone in the room shared.

Zhang Chuntao’s face instantly turned ashen. He had truly never anticipated that a mere doctor, an ant he thought he could crush at will, was actually a Martial Artist—and seemingly even stronger than Yin Gaofei.

Song Mingde and Song Kaiwen breathed a sigh of relief, smiling. They now looked at Ye Xiu as if he were their grandson-in-law and son-in-law, their satisfaction growing with each glance. Handsome, virtuous, skilled in the medical arts, and a Martial Artist to boot—a young man this outstanding was one in a million. The two exchanged a look, deciding they had to set Ye Liangchen and Song Yushu up, no matter what.

”You’ve been aiding and abetting Zhang Chuntao in his wrongdoings. Does Yin Tianxi know about this?” Ye Xiu asked coldly.

”What my dad knows is none of your damn business,” Yin Gaofei retorted. Having recovered from his shock and confident in Yin Tianxi’s backing, he wasn’t at all worried about what Ye Xiu might dare to do to him.

”You little runt, you dare talk to your grandpa like that?”

Ye Xiu kicked Yin Gaofei to the ground, rushed forward, pinned him down, and began giving him a bloody beating.

Yin Gaofei howled as he was beaten, ”Ye Liangchen, you’re courting death! You dare hit me? My dad won’t let you get away with this!”

”An untaught child is the father’s fault. When I see your dad, I’ll beat him up too.” Ye Xiu rained a flurry of kicks and punches down on Yin Gaofei.

This scene made Zhang Chuntao’s scalp tingle. Ye Liangchen isn’t even afraid of Yin Tianxi. After he’s done with Yin Gaofei, what will he do to me? The thought of how he had ordered Yin Gaofei to torture and kill Ye Liangchen made Zhang Chuntao’s legs tremble uncontrollably.

Just then, Ye Xiu’s phone began to ring.

Ye Xiu immediately stopped beating Yin Gaofei, took out his phone, and saw it was a call from Gong Jin. He quickly stepped outside the ward to answer it. A Martial Artist’s hearing is far superior to an ordinary person’s, and he was worried Gong Jin might say something confidential that Yin Gaofei could overhear.

”Quick, run!”

Seeing Ye Xiu leave, a bruised and swollen Yin Gaofei scrambled to his feet, grabbed Zhang Chuntao, and ran for the window. With a single slash, he shattered the glass and, holding Zhang Chuntao, leaped out. This was the third floor, but with Yin Gaofei’s strength, such a height wouldn’t injure him, even while carrying someone.

”Hey, if you two run off, what about me?” Lawyer Huang cried out in frustration as he watched them flee.

Once outside the ward, Ye Xiu answered the phone.

Gong Jin said, ”Young Master, I’ve received news that Shen Songshan has asked Yin Tianxi to take out Jin Lian.”

Ye Xiu was taken aback. ”Hasn’t Yin Tianxi always been working for Long Xiaoyun? How did he get entangled with Shen Songshan now?”

Gong Jin explained, ”Shen Songshan secretly took all the War Gods from Hexia Road as his disciples, teaching them the Shen Family’s Cultivation Technique. He intends to accumulate Power to contend with you. Yin Tianxi was in Jin Ye City at the time and missed Shen Songshan’s recruitment. After returning, he made a special trip to Guoyang to meet with him.”

Ye Xiu narrowed his eyes. Shen Songshan truly lived up to his reputation as an ambitious and ruthless figure. The Shen Family had fallen so far that they were all banished to Guoyang to beg, yet he was still scheming in the shadows, plotting a comeback.

”Why does Shen Songshan want to kill Jin Lian?” he asked.

”You haven’t shown your face in Guoyang, which has left Shen Songshan and his family living in constant fear,” Gong Jin replied. ”He wants to kill Jin Lian to lure you to Han Jin City.”

Ye Xiu understood. ”Any movement from the Long Family?” Surely the Long Family wouldn’t remain idle with Jin Lian in Han Jin City.

”They’ve made no move.”

Ye Xiu felt a wave of disappointment. He had the Bao Family make a big show of sending people to Han Jin City to find a partner, hoping to lure the Long Family into making a move. It would have been the perfect chance to eliminate some of their forces, but they hadn’t taken the bait. What a pity.

Hanging up, he returned to the ward. Song Mingde said, ”Ye Liangchen, Zhang Chuntao and Yin Gaofei escaped through the window.”

”Let them run. We’ll be seeing them again soon enough.” Ye Xiu was unconcerned and changed the subject. ”Elder Song, Jin Lian is in Han Jin City looking for a partner. Aren’t you going to try and secure the opportunity?”

Song Mingde gave a bitter smile. ”With Zhang Chuntao meddling, Jin Lian won’t choose the Song Family. Besides, Ye Xiu is entering the global medical market. With such a huge undertaking, why would he even look twice at a minor family like the Songs?” His words were tinged with a deep sense of inferiority.

”Dad, you can’t say that,” Song Kaiwen reasoned. ”Judging by Ye Xiu’s actions on Qingfeng Road, he values character over wealth when choosing partners. With your reputation in the medical field, there might be a chance.”

”I also think you should give it a try,” Ye Xiu urged.

Song Mingde pondered for a moment. ”Alright, then. We’ll go and join the crowd.”

「...」

After escaping from Mingde Ancient Medical Hall, Zhang Chuntao and Yin Gaofei drove frantically for half an hour. Seeing that Ye Xiu wasn’t in pursuit, they finally breathed a sigh of relief.

”Gaofei, your father is the number one master on the global War God Ranking. After being beaten like this by Ye Liangchen, you’ve thoroughly disgraced him. Are you just going to take this lying down?” Zhang Chuntao goaded with veiled sarcasm, looking at Yin Gaofei’s bruised and swollen face.

”If I don’t get revenge for this, I’m not a man!” Humiliated and enraged, Yin Gaofei took out his phone. ”I’m calling my dad right now! I’ll have him come personally and kill Ye Liangchen.”

”Hold on!” Seeing that Yin Gaofei’s hatred for Ye Liangchen was sealed, Zhang Chuntao, while secretly pleased, stopped him from making the call. ”Ye Liangchen will surely accompany Song Mingde to meet Jin Lian. Why not have your dad teach him a lesson in public? Wouldn’t that be far more satisfying than just killing him outright?”

”That makes sense!” Yin Gaofei’s eyes lit up. ”But you didn’t get the shares of Mingde Pharmaceuticals. Will Jin Lian still choose to cooperate with the Zhang Family?”

”From the very beginning, I never pinned all my hopes on Mingde Pharmaceuticals. While we were at Mingde Ancient Medical Hall, my father took some men to Runhua Pharmaceuticals. With the Zhang Family’s strength and my relationship with Jin Lian, Runhua Pharmaceuticals will definitely sell a portion of their shares to us.” A shrewd glint sparkled in Zhang Chuntao’s eyes as he said with utmost confidence, ”And with my relationship with Jin Lian on top of that, Runhua Pharmaceuticals is guaranteed to become Ye Xiu’s partner for his entry into the global medical market.”
