Medical and Martial God

Chapter 426: Chapter 426: Sin Needs Cleansing

”He’s Dong Shuo, the Young Master of the Brotherhood Alliance. No matter what he says or does later, you must not get into a conflict with him, or I won’t be able to protect you.”

Long Wu lowered her voice and quickly reminded Ye Xiu, then stood up and said with a smile, ”Young Master Dong, what a coincidence to meet you here.”

At the mention of the Brotherhood Alliance, Ye Xiu’s eyes narrowed.

The Brotherhood Alliance was a unique Ancient Martial Sect, composed entirely of scoundrels and ruffians from Hexia Road and led by the Dong Ancient Martial Family. Any rogue who joined the alliance would be taught Ancient Martial Arts cultivation techniques. This recruitment method had made the Brotherhood Alliance the largest Ancient Martial Sect on Hexia Road, and indeed in all of Xuanse, boasting tens of thousands of members. Furthermore, it had forged a web of intricate and intertwined interests with the other Ancient Martial Families and Sects of Hexia Road.

This was why even the Eight Great National Protector War Gods, despite their seething hatred, dared not rashly declare war on the Brotherhood Alliance.

Ye Xiu was very disappointed in the Eight Great National Protector War Gods. Evil needed to be cleansed with violence. What was there to hesitate about?

”It is quite a coincidence. I just arrived in Han Jin City and ran into you. This must be fate.” Dong Shuo walked over, laughing heartily as if no one else was there. His voice was coarse and his laugh boomed like thunder, causing the servers and other diners in the restaurant to frown.

A server came over and said, ”Sir, loud noises are prohibited in our restaurant, please...”

SMACK!

Before the server could finish, Dong Shuo slapped him across the face and then kicked him, sending him flying. He scanned the room with a thuggish air. ”This is how I am. If you don’t like it, get the hell out! And if anyone has a problem with it, they can come over and try to reason with me.”

The server clutched his stomach and face, scrambled to his feet, and ran off, humiliated, not daring to say another word.

The other diners quickly fell silent and focused on their food, none of them wanting to ask for trouble.

Ye Xiu furrowed his brows. He had long heard that the Brotherhood Alliance were the local tyrants of Hexia Road: arrogant, unruly, and lawless. They committed all kinds of evil, and no one dared to provoke them. It seems the rumors were true.

”Young Master Dong is as powerful and domineering as ever,” Long Wu praised with a smile. These weren’t just polite words or flattery; she genuinely envied Dong Shuo’s ability to be completely lawless.

”Born this way! Can’t change it!” Dong Shuo declared with arrogant pride. He walked up behind Ye Xiu and clapped him on the shoulder. ”Hey, buddy, are you blind or deaf? Didn’t you see me arrive? Get the hell up and give me your seat.”

Seeing this, Long Wu grew anxious. She desperately tried to signal Ye Xiu with her eyes, terrified that a conflict between him and Dong Shuo would drag the Long Family into trouble.

”I have this little quirk,” Ye Xiu said without expression. ”Once I sit down to eat, my butt seems to get glued to the chair until I’m full. I just can’t stand up.”

Dong Shuo was stunned. ”Well, look at you. Pretty arrogant. I’ve been alive for 28 years, and this is the first time anyone’s dared to talk to me like this. You’re courting death,” he snarled, raising his hand to slap Ye Xiu.

This terrified Long Wu. Dong Shuo is no match for Ye Liangchen! If they start fighting, Ye Liangchen could kill him with a single slap. Then things would really blow up!

”Young Master Dong, Young Master Dong...” Long Wu hurriedly blocked Dong Shuo, offering an apologetic smile. ”Young Master Dong, my friend is tactless and doesn’t know any better. Please, for my sake, don’t hold it against him.”

”Get out of my way!” Dong Shuo shoved her hand aside and said coldly, ”I’ll give you face, but who’s going to give me face? This kid dared to act so arrogant in front of me. He has to die.”

Long Wu’s expression darkened. She said in a low voice, ”Young Master Dong, let me be honest with you. As long as I’m here, you won’t kill him!”

She had to do this, but not to protect Ye Xiu. A conflict between her and Dong Shuo would just be a personal matter between them, one that could be resolved later. But if Dong Shuo forced Ye Xiu to act, the situation would escalate into a feud between the Guoyang Long Family and the Brotherhood Alliance.

”Fine. Just fine. So, Long Wu, I was right about you after all.” Panting with rage, Dong Shuo continued, ”Most of the people who eat here are couples. I suspected this kid was your man from the start. A little test confirmed it.”

”He’s not my man,” Long Wu explained.

So that’s what this is about, Ye Xiu realized. Dong Shuo likes Long Wu. He saw us eating in this romantic restaurant, mistook us for a couple, and is deliberately targeting me. Women... they’re nothing but trouble!

”Ha! Long Wu, do you take me for a fool? Most of the people who eat here are couples. You’ve always been so proud; would you really bring an ordinary friend to a place like this?” Dong Shuo demanded angrily.

Long Wu was speechless.

”Nothing to say, huh?” Seeing Long Wu’s silent admission, Dong Shuo grew even angrier. ”I’ve told you before, Long Wu, you can only marry me in this life! I’ll kill any man who dares to be yours, and I mean it!” he roared, throwing a punch at Ye Xiu’s head.

Long Wu quickly intervened, blocking the punch.

”Long Wu, you dare to raise a hand to me for his sake? Fine! Just fine!” Furious, Dong Shuo bellowed, ”Men! To me!”

His voice was like a clap of thunder, leaving the ears of the staff and remaining diners ringing. The next moment, more than a dozen men surged into the restaurant.

The leader, a middle-aged man holding a blade, commanded coldly, ”Fight’s on! Clear out!”

With a sudden uproar, the servers and diners scrambled out of the restaurant.

When Long Wu saw the knife-wielding man, her expression changed. She recognized him; he was a bodyguard the Dong Family had assigned to Dong Shuo, a master with the strength of a War God, named Sun Kai.

”Uncle Sun, help me keep Long Wu busy. I’m going to kill this brat with my own hands,” Dong Shuo said gravely.

”Very well.” Sun Kai nodded and darted toward Long Wu.

Seeing this, Long Wu turned to Ye Xiu, her voice and eyes pleading, ”Show mercy!” Before she could say more, she was already clashing with the charging Sun Kai.

”Show mercy?” Dong Shuo sneered. ”Hmph! You dare compete with me for a woman and act all arrogant in my presence, and you expect me to show mercy? In your dreams!” Mistaking her words for a plea for Ye Xiu’s life, he threw a punch straight at Ye Xiu’s head.

Ye Xiu casually caught Dong Shuo’s fist. He slowly stood up and said, ”You misunderstood. She was asking me to show mercy to you.”

”You...” Dong Shuo’s face fell. He never expected Ye Xiu to be stronger than him and immediately screamed for help, ”Uncle Sun, save me!”

Sun Kai, who was locked in a fierce battle with Long Wu, heard the cry and immediately rushed toward Ye Xiu. Long Wu did not stop him. She was desperate for Sun Kai to save Dong Shuo; if he didn’t, Dong Shuo might very well die at Ye Xiu’s hands.

”Let the Young Master go!” As Sun Kai charged toward Ye Xiu, he brazenly drew his blade, his Killing Intent surging.

Using a blade against me? Ye Xiu scoffed. He tightened his grip on Dong Shuo’s fist, exerting a sudden burst of force. With a sickening series of CRACKS, he crushed Dong Shuo’s right hand and, in the same motion, kicked him away, sending him flying.

Just then, Sun Kai arrived. Seeing Ye Xiu crush Dong Shuo’s hand and kick him away, he flew into a rage. ”Kid, you’re courting death!”
