Chapter 435: Chapter 435: Submit or Die

Ye Xiu glanced at the curious onlookers and said, ”The Blood Pill and the Boiling series of Genetic Potions have the same effect. Taking one can massively increase your strength, but once you do, you’ll die of blood depletion. The Bloodstone is the bane of anyone who consumes a Blood Pill.”

Du Long and the others were incredulous. A person who had taken a Blood Pill was so powerful, yet they had a weakness—and it was just a gemstone. ”Why do you just so happen to have a gemstone that suppresses those who have taken the Blood Pill?”

Du Long suddenly felt that Ye Liangchen was shrouded in too many secrets. Xu Zengshan had a Blood Pill, and Ye Liangchen just so happened to have the stone to counter it. This was definitely no coincidence.

”At this point, there’s no need to hide some things anymore!”

Ye Xiu nonchalantly pocketed the Bloodstone, which had drained Xu Zengshan dry. It had grown even dimmer. He scanned Du Long and his two brothers, along with the test subjects, and proclaimed in a cold voice, ”I am Ye Xiu!”

In an instant, the world seemed to fall silent. The words ’I am Ye Xiu’ echoed relentlessly in the minds of everyone present. In the next moment, the three Du brothers and all the test subjects felt a chill shoot up from the soles of their feet straight to their heads. They instinctively recoiled in unison, staring at Ye Xiu in utter disbelief.

”Ye Liangchen, I find you have a sense of humor, but with us three brothers on the verge of death, this is hardly the time for jokes,” Du Long said, his smile tinged with suspicion. ”I personally called the general manager of the Fire Seed Sang Jing branch to pull your file. There’s no way you can be Ye Xiu.”

Du Hu, Du Hang, and the test subjects also laughed, all of them thinking Ye Liangchen was just kidding.

”The Fire Seed Sang Jing branch has been under my people’s control for a long time. The file you saw was the one I wanted you to see. In fact, there is no such person as Ye Liangchen at the Fire Seed Sang Jing branch at all,” Ye Xiu stated calmly.

The smile on Du Long’s face froze. ”Impossible!” he howled. Deeply agitated, he frantically took out his phone to call the general manager of the Fire Seed Sang Jing branch, desperate to verify Ye Xiu’s claim. Du Hu, Du Hang, and the test subjects stared intently at him, awaiting the general manager’s response. However, the call wouldn’t connect. Du Long tried several more times, but every call failed.

This time, Du Long believed it. His composure shattered on the spot.

”The Fire Seed Company, the Xu Family, and the Guoyang Long Family all gathered in Han Jin City for the sole purpose of eliminating you. And yet, the very target we were supposed to destroy was lurking by our side the whole time, even infiltrating our inner circle?” he lamented. ”I’ve sized up countless people in my life and always prided myself on my sharp judgment, believing I could never misread someone. But the one person I admired most, the man I was prepared to support as the Vice Chairman of the Fire Seed Company, turned out to be my enemy?”

Du Long couldn’t bear the blow and nearly fainted from sheer rage.

Du Hu, Du Hang, and the test subjects all felt a scalp-numbing terror. Ye Xiu was too terrifying. He had flawlessly infiltrated the enemy camp as an undercover agent, dazzling everyone with a talent that earned the admiration and competition of the heads of the Fire Seed Company, the Xu Family, and the Guoyang Long Family. With a simple stratagem, he sent Long Wu’s group into the trap in Jin Ye City, and not a single person in the leadership suspected a thing afterward. Not only that, he successfully drove a wedge between the Fire Seed Company, the Xu Family, and the Guoyang Long Family, inciting a war between the three factions. This resulted in the deaths of all the experts above the level of War God in both the Xu Family and the Guoyang Long Family, save for Long Xiaoyun. Meanwhile, the three leaders of Fire Seed had all ingested Boiling No. 2, their lives now hanging by a thread.

This Ye Xiu has to be the greatest undercover agent in history! Not even a textbook would dare to describe something so audacious!

”Now I finally understand why the Long Family suffered one setback after another at your hands. You’re too terrifying,” Du Hang said, glaring at Ye Xiu, his voice thick with frustration and embarrassment. ”But we three brothers are about to die! Why would you reveal your identity now? Couldn’t you have waited until after we were dead? You... you’re just kicking us while we’re down!”

The eighty-something-year-old man was so aggrieved he nearly cried.

”You’re deliberately humiliating us! You want us to die with this terrible knowledge, unable to rest in peace! You... you’re too vicious!” Du Hu raged. If he thought he could win, he would have cleaved Ye Xiu in two right then and there.

”You misunderstand. The reason I’m revealing my identity now is to give you a choice,” Ye Xiu said in a somber tone.

”What choice?” the three Du brothers asked in unison.

An astonishing killing intent erupted from Ye Xiu. He gazed coldly at everyone present and uttered a fierce ultimatum: ”Submit, or die!”

At that moment, Ye Xiu was like the God of Slaughter incarnate. The test subjects were so terrified they nearly fell to their knees, and not one of them dared to meet his gaze.

”There’s no need for this!” Du Long said. ”You’re already the Vice Chairman of the Fire Seed Company. After we three brothers die, Fire Seed will be yours anyway.”

”You’re right. After you die, the Fire Seed Company will indeed be mine. However, many in the head office and all the branches will surely refuse to accept me. I don’t have the spare time to subjugate them one by one. Therefore, I need you to submit and help me manage the company.”

There was one thing Ye Xiu left unsaid, for fear of crushing their spirits: he held a worthless organization like the Fire Seed Company in utter contempt.

Hearing Ye Xiu’s words, the bodies of the three Du brothers trembled violently. Suppressing his excitement, Du Long asked, ”You... you’re saying that if we submit, you... you can save our lives?”

”Of course,” Ye Xiu replied with absolute confidence.

”I am willing to submit!” Du Long declared, kneeling on one knee without hesitation.

”So am I!”

”I submit!”

”We submit!”

Du Hu, Du Hang, and the test subjects all followed suit, dropping to one knee to signify their submission. This was no mere act of expediency; they were genuinely conquered by Ye Xiu’s intellect and power. He possessed overwhelming strength, unparalleled stratagems, and peerless medical skills. Moreover, the Fire Seed Company had already made an enemy of the Long Family, and they didn’t know if Huang Quan would even take them in. Choosing Ye Xiu was the best and most prudent decision they could make.

”Very good,” Ye Xiu said, looking down upon the three Du brothers like a king surveying his subjects. ”Rise. I will tend to your injuries first.”

”Yes, yes, of course!” The three Du brothers scrambled to their feet.

Ye Xiu took out his silver needles and, while treating the brothers, said, ”Long Xiaoyun has escaped. He will certainly assume you three died at Xu Zengshan’s hands. From now on, you three and most of the test subjects must operate from the shadows and await my commands.”

”Understood!” Du Long nodded. A profound bitterness filled his heart. Just moments ago, Ye Xiu had been his junior, the Vice Chairman of the Fire Seed Company, his subordinate. In the blink of an eye, he had become Ye Xiu’s lackey.

Just then, Ye Xiu received a call from An Dongye.

”Little bro, you got any connections with the Han Jin City Official Family?”

”Why are you asking this in the middle of the night?” Ye Xiu countered.

An Dongye replied, ”Dong Fangbai got himself ’arrested’.”

Ye Xiu drew in a sharp breath. Dong Fangbai is into that sort of thing? That completely shatters his Pressure King persona! Still, the fact that Dong Fangbai didn’t use force to resist arrest did make me see him in a new light.
