Chapter 423: Chapter 423: Three Tycoons Compete for Ye Xiu

”Absolutely not!” Xu Zengshan hurried to intervene, playing the part of a peacemaker. ”Ye Liangchen, you’ve already injured Jiao Fuping this badly. That’s revenge enough. Please, spare his life.”

His words clearly sided with Jiao Fuping but failed to prove any connection between the Long Family and Medicine King Valley.

Ye Xiu continued to test him. ”If I don’t kill him, he’ll just come back for revenge later. Only by killing him can I truly rest easy.”

”Killing him would put you in even greater danger,” Xu Zengshan warned with grave sincerity. ”Ye Liangchen, you may not be aware, but Jiao Fuping’s background is far from simple. If you kill him, the consequences will be unimaginable.”

”I don’t care what his background is,” Ye Xiu stated stubbornly. ”I’ll face retaliation whether I kill him or not. By killing him, at least I’ll have one less enemy to worry about.”

Xu Zengshan felt a headache coming on. He shot pleading glances toward Long Xiaoyun and Du Long, hoping they would also help persuade Ye Liangchen.

Du Long immediately declared with an air of authority, ”Ye Liangchen, go ahead and kill Jiao Fuping. I’d like to see who dares to stop you!”

He took on a protective stance and scoffed, ”You’re with my Fire Seed Company. Jiao Fuping daring to kill you is the same as making an enemy of the Fire Seed Company. I don’t care what kind of background he has. Anyone who offends the Fire Seed Company must die.”

Xu Zengshan was completely baffled. I asked you to persuade Ye Liangchen to let Jiao Fuping go, you idiot! You completely misunderstood me!

He quickly turned to Long Xiaoyun, signaling for him to say something.

Long Xiaoyun just shrugged. ”Jiao Fuping tried to kill Ye Liangchen. It’s perfectly reasonable for Ye Liangchen to retaliate in any way he sees fit.”

Du Long was staunchly supporting Ye Liangchen, and Long Xiaoyun was backing him up too. Don’t these two morons realize how serious the consequences of killing Jiao Fuping are?

A moment later, it dawned on him. Xu Zengshan suddenly understood what Long Xiaoyun and Du Long were planning. Ye Liangchen had shown monstrous talent and incredible strength, plus he had inherited the Medical Skills of the Evil Doctor, Nangong Lie.

Those two old bastards are connoisseurs of talent, and they both want to recruit him. They’re using this situation with Jiao Fuping to make a good impression on him. In reality, they’re fully aware of the consequences of killing Jiao Fuping. They don’t actually want to see him die at Ye Liangchen’s hands, but they’ve conveniently dumped the task of stopping it onto me. Those two old scoundrels! They’re making me play the bad cop while they get to be the good cops. How shameless!

”Ye Liangchen, listen to me!” Xu Zengshan took a deep breath and tried a gentle approach. ”I don’t know if you’ve heard of Medicine King Valley, but it is an incredibly terrifying organization. Even the combined forces of the Xu Family, the Guoyang Long Family, and the Fire Seed Company would be no match for them. Jiao Fuping is a core disciple of Medicine King Valley. If you kill him and they decide to retaliate, the consequences will be unthinkable.”

Ye Xiu listened intently to Xu Zengshan’s words, carefully analyzing every word, every sentence, and even his tone, expression, and gaze. He paid special attention to the deep-seated fear of Medicine King Valley reflected in Xu Zengshan’s eyes.

It seems Medicine King Valley really isn’t the Long Family. Still, I can’t be sure what the relationship between them is, nor can I confirm if Medicine King Valley was involved in the plot against me ten years ago.

”Fine, I’ll spare Jiao Fuping’s life, but he’ll definitely come after me for revenge later,” Ye Xiu said, feigning compromise.

Xu Zengshan was secretly thrilled. Just as he was about to give Ye Xiu his assurance, Long Xiaoyun cut in.

”Ye Liangchen, don’t you worry. I’ll handle your safety. I guarantee that not a single hair on your head will be harmed.”

Du Long immediately added, ”As the chairman of the Fire Seed Company, it’s my responsibility to protect you. Rest assured, even if Jiao Fuping tries to get revenge, I won’t let him succeed.”

Xu Zengshan was furious. You two old fools, shut your mouths! You’ve taken all the ’good guy’ roles, so does that make me the only bad guy here?

He quickly made his own offer. ”I will inform Medicine King Valley about this feud. Jiao Fuping provoked you first, so they are in the wrong and won’t support his attempts at revenge. Furthermore, I will tell them you are now under the protection of the Xu Family. If they still support Jiao Fuping in seeking revenge, it will be a declaration of war against my Xu Family!”

”Xu Zengshan, shut your mouth!” Du Long roared. ”Ye Liangchen works for the Fire Seed Company’s Sang Jing branch! Since when did he become one of your Xu Family?”

”Xu Zengshan, I didn’t realize you were so shameless!” Long Xiaoyun shouted. ”Poaching an employee from the Fire Seed Company right in front of us!”

Xu Zengshan shot back without holding anything back, ”He’s just an employee of the Sang Jing branch. When did he become *your* man, Du Long? And you, Long Xiaoyun, this is me helping Ye Liangchen. It’s none of your damn business!”

”You shameless old thief! You’re trying to poach my Fire Seed Company’s employee right in front of my face, and you think you’re in the right?” Du Long bellowed.

”You’re despicable, Xu Zengshan! I never thought you were this kind of person,” Long Xiaoyun added with disgust. ”You’re not helping Ye Liangchen; you’re just greedy for his talent!”

Ye Xiu watched the three men, all over ninety years old, arguing in public like a bunch of market gossips. A faint, cold smile touched his lips.

Everything is going according to plan.

Meanwhile, Xu Zhiqiang and the others were completely dumbfounded. They never expected that Ye Liangchen was from the Fire Seed Company, let alone that three magnates of their stature would actually be fighting over him.

Did he really have that much influence?

At that moment, Jiao Fuping, who was still kneeling on one knee and covered in blood, finally snapped. ”Can you argue after you send me to a hospital?!” he roared. ”I’m about to bleed out!”

The argument between the three old men came to an abrupt halt.

”Ahem, we forgot about you,” Xu Zengshan said quickly.

Jiao Fuping was speechless.

”Ah Qiang, hurry and get someone to take Jiao Fuping to the hospital,” Xu Zengshan ordered.

Xu Zhiqiang looked reluctant.

Just then, Ye Xiu spoke up. ”There’s no need. I’ll treat his injuries. Just get me a set of Silver Needles.”

The eyes of Xu Zengshan, Long Xiaoyun, and Du Long lit up. They had been wondering how they could get a chance to test Ye Liangchen’s Medical Skills.

”I happen to have a set of Silver Needles right here,” Du Long said, pulling a case from his pocket and handing it to Ye Xiu.

Ye Xiu immediately walked over to Jiao Fuping. He drew out the Silver Needles one by one and inserted them into Jiao Fuping’s body. This made Jiao Fuping incredibly nervous. He was terrified that Ye Xiu would ”accidentally” kill him with a misplaced needle.

The three patriarchs were also worried at first that Ye Xiu might use this opportunity to kill Jiao Fuping. But after watching for a moment and seeing that he was genuinely treating the man’s injuries, they finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Xu Zhiqiang and the others all crowded around, eager to see for themselves what kind of abilities Ye Liangchen possessed to make three such powerful men vie for him.

”Is that the legendary Traveling Dragon Moxibustion Technique?” someone murmured in awe.

Watching Ye Xiu’s hands was mesmerizing. They moved as if plucking the strings of a zither, manipulating the Silver Needles in Jiao Fuping’s body. Some needles trembled, while others moved up and down at varying depths, creating a spectacular sight.

”Whoa, his wounds are closing!” Xu Zhiqiang exclaimed.

The rest of the crowd noticed it too, and a wave of shock rippled through them.

The wounds were healing at a rate visible to the naked eye. Such Medical Skills were nothing short of a miracle.
