Medical and Martial God

Chapter 438: Chapter 438 Arrogant and Lawless

Zhang Jiawei hurriedly said, ”It’s like this. Tonight we organized an anti-vice operation and arrested a man named Gao Sen. He’s Gao Wenjuan’s brother, and she’s the wife of Qiao Yong, the Han City Hall Master for the Brotherhood Alliance.”

Her brother was arrested for soliciting prostitutes, and she brought people to a government law enforcement agency to break him out by force. The Brotherhood Alliance had become unbelievably brazen.

Killing Intent boiled in Ye Xiu’s eyes. He had thought that killing Dong Tianming and the Brotherhood Alliance elites would be enough to make the organization dissolve. It seemed that was just wishful thinking on his part.

He said in a deep voice, ”Bring Gao Sen with us. Let’s go take a look.”

Outside, a crowd of over a hundred people had gathered, each one holding a knife or a sword. At the forefront was a rather beautiful woman in her thirties. It was none other than the wife of the Brotherhood Alliance’s Han City Hall Master... Gao Wenjuan.

”Release my brother, or I’ll force my way in,” Gao Wenjuan demanded coldly.

The underlings behind her began to shout.

”Release him!”

”Hurry up and release him!”

”Charge in and save Brother Sen!”

Just then, more than twenty heavily armed Law Enforcers rushed out, their presence imposing. Gao Wenjuan and her followers were all taken aback. According to regulations for a precinct station in this district, only the chief was equipped with a Type 54 pistol. Other officers were not issued firearms. Yet every single one of these twenty-plus men was armed, and with submachine guns at that.

In truth, a citywide anti-vice operation was underway in Han City that night. To prevent any potential firefights, the Public Security Department had requested fire support.

”Stay sharp and watch for my signal,” Gao Wenjuan said to the knife-wielding middle-aged man beside her.

”Rest assured, Ma’am,” the middle-aged man nodded.

”Gao Wenjuan, do you have any idea what you’re doing?” the chief reprimanded, his tone firm. ”Gathering here with weapons to cause a disturbance? I can arrest all of you on the spot.”

His attitude was extremely firm.

Under normal circumstances, he would never dare to rashly start a conflict with the Brotherhood Alliance. After all, even the Eight Great National Protector War Gods were wary of them. But now things were different. He had Huang Quan backing him. He wouldn’t be afraid even if the Alliance Hierarch himself showed up, let alone the wife of a mere Hall Master.

”Cut the crap. If I was afraid of you, I wouldn’t have come,” Gao Wenjuan said, showing the chief no respect whatsoever. With a fierce and domineering glare, she threatened, ”Release my brother now, or I’ll level this place.”

As soon as she spoke, her underlings began to roar in agreement.

Han Ying’s lungs nearly exploded with rage at the sight. She said coldly, ”You scum, you cancers of society, you dare to openly threaten Law Enforcers? All units, chamber your rounds! If anyone makes a move, shoot to kill on sight!”

CHK-CHK!

A series of sharp clicks echoed as the Law Enforcers chambered their rounds. More than twenty guns were now aimed at Gao Wenjuan and her people.

”Pfft. Who are you trying to scare with a pile of scrap metal?” Far from being afraid, Gao Wenjuan was filled with disdain. She said coldly, ”It seems you have no intention of releasing my brother willingly. In that case, I’ll let you see just how useless firearms are against a Martial Artist.”

With that, she gave the middle-aged man beside her a meaningful look.

The middle-aged man nodded.

Then, right before Han Ying and the others’ eyes, he vanished from his spot. He was an Eighth Grade Grandmaster, and his speed was far too fast for the eyes of ordinary people like Han Ying to follow.

The next moment, Han Ying saw a flash of cold light, and her submachine gun was sliced in half. Before she could even process what had happened, she saw a ghostly, elusive figure weaving through her colleagues. In the space of a few breaths, all of their weapons had been sliced in half, just like hers. Then she saw the middle-aged man reappear beside Gao Wenjuan as if he had never moved at all.

HISS!

Han Ying and her colleagues all sucked in a breath of cold air.

Is this the power of a Martial Artist? We Law Enforcers, fully armed, are as fragile as paper before them. If he had been aiming for our vitals instead of our guns, we would all be dead right now.

”What was that you said? ’Whoever dares to make a move, you’ll shoot them on the spot’?” Gao Wenjuan sauntered over to Han Ying and looked down at her with contempt. ”Well? I’ve given the order to move. You can shoot me now.”

”You...”

Han Ying was provoked to fury but was rendered helpless. At this moment, she felt an incredible powerlessness in the face of a Martial Artist.

The chief and his men watched Gao Wenjuan’s arrogant display without saying a word. Huang Quan, why haven’t you made a move yet? they screamed internally.

”Come on, didn’t you say you’d shoot me? Do it!” Gao Wenjuan yelled at Han Ying.

Han Ying glared back at Gao Wenjuan, remaining silent. In that moment, she suddenly felt how fragile the law was in front of certain individuals—how utterly vulnerable.

”Putting on a tough act when you have no power will only get you killed,” Gao Wenjuan mocked Han Ying with disdain. Then, she turned her arrogant gaze to the chief and threatened, ”My patience is limited. I’m giving you one last chance. Release my brother immediately, or all of you will die.”

The chief grew anxious. If Huang Quan didn’t act soon, he would have to compromise. Considering the bigger picture, it was unwise to have a falling out with the Brotherhood Alliance. The Eight Great National Protector War Gods themselves had said to avoid conflict with the Brotherhood Alliance unless absolutely necessary.

Huang Quan, oh Huang Quan! Why haven’t you acted yet!

”Sis...”

Just then, Ye Xiu, An Dongye, and Dong Fangbai walked over, bringing Gao Sen with them.

Gao Sen shouted joyfully and ran to Gao Wenjuan’s side. ”Hehe, sis, I knew you’d come save me,” he said with a cheeky grin.

”And you have the nerve to smile?” Gao Wenjuan scolded, frustrated that her brother wasn’t living up to his potential. ”As my brother, your status is noble! There are plenty of women who would line up to share your bed, yet you run off to solicit prostitutes. Are those streetwalkers really that appealing?”

”Hehe, when you’ve had too much rich meat and fish, you occasionally crave a simple cucumber!” Gao Sen said with a sheepish grin, rubbing the back of his head.

”You...” Gao Wenjuan was at her wit’s end with her brother. She gave him a fierce glare and said, ”Let’s go. Come home with me.”

”Not so fast!” Gao Sen said, pointing at Han Ying. ”Sis, that’s the woman who arrested me. She even slapped me twice. I have to get my revenge for that.”

”What?” Gao Wenjuan’s expression turned furious. ”That bastard dared to hit my brother? Gao Sen, go! She slapped you twice, so you smash her face in!”
