Chapter 402: Chapter 402: Ruthless and Unjust

They arrived at the restroom.

Lili feigned innocence. ”Big Brother Ye, you go on in. I’ll wait for you out here.”

”Let’s go together.” Ye Xiu pulled Lili into the men’s restroom and locked the door behind them.

Lili put on a panicked act. ”Big Brother Ye, what are you doing? I’m just a drinking companion; I don’t sell my body.”

”Don’t be scared. Let’s add each other on SuperChat,” Ye Xiu said, taking out his phone.

Lili was overjoyed, sensing that they were about to negotiate a price.

After adding him on SuperChat, Lili continued her act of innocence. ”Now that you have my SuperChat, Big Brother Ye, just notify me before you come next time, so I can be ready for you...”

Before she could finish, she received a red packet transfer from Ye Xiu.

10,000?

Her heart skipped a beat. She had never seen a big spender like Ye Xiu who transferred 10,000 without even discussing the price.

”My, Big Brother Ye, you’re too kind...”

”I’m going to ask you a few questions. For each one you answer correctly, I’ll give you 10,000.”

”What?” Lili was stunned for a moment, then nodded quickly. ”Ask away, ask away!”

”Do you know Qin Ming?” Ye Xiu asked.

”Yes, I do!” Lili nodded, and another 10,000 transfer from Ye Xiu immediately appeared on her phone.

Lili’s breath quickened. This was the easiest money she had ever made. With her eyes gleaming, she said, ”Big Brother Ye, keep asking.”

Ye Xiu smiled to himself. It seems money really does make the world go round. He asked, ”When did Qin Ming get here? And what’s his job?”

Lili envisioned another 20,000 in her account as she considered the two questions. After a moment’s thought, she said, ”Around late May, I think it was the 20th or 21st. Qin Ming came here with Master Ma and became the manager of the underground floor the very next day. As for his job duties...”

Hearing this, Ye Xiu narrowed his eyes. According to Gong Jin, Qin Ming had been taken away by Ma Zixiong three months ago. Qin Ming’s arrival at the Han Jin City International Entertainment Club was also about three months ago. The timeline matched perfectly.

Lili continued, ”Actually, all of us drinking companions, and even the private room hostesses, are available to be taken out. If a client takes a liking to one of us and wants to book us for the night, Qin Ming’s job was to negotiate the price and collect the payment. It’s an easy job with a very high commission.”

”For example, if Qin Ming negotiates an overnight fee of 1,000 for a drinking companion, he earns a commission of 200.”

”But what’s strange is that Qin Ming only did that great job for a week. Then I heard he went to the fifth floor.”

Oh? My father-in-law left such a cushy job after just one week? Was his stamina failing him, or was the temptation of the fifth floor simply greater?

Lili pressed her entire body against Ye Xiu, pouting as she went on, ”As for what Qin Ming does on the fifth floor, I have no idea. The floors above the fifth in the Han Jin City International Entertainment Club are off-limits. Only mysterious big shots can go up there, and they use a special VIP elevator.”

Ye Xiu was deeply disappointed. The lead had gone cold. He had thought that for a little money, he could buy all the information on Qin Ming directly from Lili, saving his intelligence agents the trouble of a slow investigation. It turned out she didn’t know much at all.

”Find me someone who works on the fifth floor,” he said, ”and bring them here. I’ll give you 100,000.”

Hearing the sum of 100,000, Lili’s eyes lit up, but her expression quickly fell into a helpless, wry smile. ”I’d love to help you, but I really don’t know anyone who works on the fifth floor.”

”Alright.” Ye Xiu nodded in disappointment, thinking that he would have to find a way to the fifth floor himself. He then sent a text message: ”Bring people to the Han Jin City International Entertainment Club immediately. Cause a scene, floor by floor. The bigger the commotion, the better.”

After sending it, he transferred another 20,000 to Lili. ”Don’t tell anyone about our conversation.”

He was worried that if Lili leaked the information, it could endanger Qin Ming.

”Don’t worry, Big Brother Ye. My lips are sealed,” Lili promised earnestly after receiving the red packet. ”I absolutely won’t breathe a word to anyone.” To her, Ye Xiu was a major client. She’d made 40,000 just by answering a few questions, and she was already scheming about how to squeeze more money out of him in the future.

”Someone’s coming. Let’s go back and drink.”

”Oh, okay!” Lili replied, as docile as a kitten. She got up, walked over to open the restroom door, and then froze.

Ye Xiu’s eyes hardened as he saw a security guard standing at the restroom entrance.

”Lili, you signed the confidentiality agreement on your very first day here. You’re well aware of the punishment for revealing company secrets to a guest, aren’t you?” the guard berated her.

”I... I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Lili played dumb.

”Are there surveillance and listening devices in the restroom?” Ye Xiu asked.

”Smart!” The guard flashed a cold smile. ”Everything you did and said in here has been monitored and recorded.”

What?

Lili’s face drained of color. She had worked here for over a year, yet she had no idea the restrooms were equipped with cameras and listening devices. At this realization, she dropped to her knees with a thud. ”Brother Wang, it was him! It was Ye Liangchen! He forced me to talk. I didn’t dare refuse; he would have killed me! Please, I’m begging you, please delete the recordings...”

Ye Xiu was speechless. She had just guaranteed she wouldn’t breathe a word, and in the next instant, she’d sold him out. The old saying is true: whores have no heart, and actors have no honor.

”Your punishment is not my responsibility.” The guard she had called Brother Wang kicked Lili aside and stared coldly at Ye Xiu. ”Mr. Ye, please come with me.”

”Where to?” Ye Xiu asked.

”You don’t need to ask. Just come with me,” the guard said coldly.

”I’m not going with you unless you tell me where,” Ye Xiu said with a shrug.

”That’s not up to you,” the guard sneered. ”If you refuse to come with me, Miss Song might not live to see tomorrow.”

Song Yushu has been captured? I was too careless.

”Lead the way,” he said.

”Wise choice.” The guard snorted and turned to lead the way.
