Medical and Martial God

Chapter 439: Chapter 439: I Dominate the Darkness

”Why the silence? Weren’t you quite bold just a moment ago?” Gao Wenjuan taunted when Han Ying didn’t respond.

”Humph!” Han Ying snorted coldly and turned to leave, intending to ask Ye Xiu for help in dealing with Gao Wenjuan’s group.

”Did I say you could go?” Gao Wenjuan said coldly. At her words, the knife-wielding middle-aged man blurred into motion, blocking Han Ying’s path.

”What... what do you want?” Han Ying suddenly panicked.

The middle-aged man did not answer. Gao Wenjuan sneered, ”What do we want? To use you in exchange for my brother, of course.” She then looked at the middle-aged man and ordered, ”Seize Han Ying and exchange her for Gao Sen!”

”Understood.” The middle-aged man nodded, his left hand shooting out to grab Han Ying’s neck.

Han Ying reflexively tried to back away in fright, but the man’s hand was too fast. She couldn’t retreat in time. As the man’s hand was about to touch her neck, a powerful sense of humiliation welled up inside her. I’ve always claimed to stand against evil, never to bow to it, yet now I’m about to fall into the hands of these wicked people, to be used as a bargaining chip for that scum, Gao Sen.

”Stop!” a cold shout suddenly rang out.

The middle-aged man’s hand froze less than a centimeter from Han Ying’s neck. He paused and turned to see who had yelled. Gao Wenjuan and the others also turned to look.

They saw Ye Xiu approaching with a cold, unhurried expression, followed by An Dongye, Dong Fangbai, and Gao Sen.

”You...” Han Ying stared at Ye Xiu in disbelief. She never imagined he would take the initiative to save her.

”Sis...” Gao Sen cried out excitedly upon seeing Gao Wenjuan. He ran to her side, grinning. ”Hehe, sis, I knew you’d come for me.”

”You still have the nerve to smile,” Gao Wenjuan chided, exasperated. ”You’re my brother, a man of high status! And you went whoring? Are those streetwalkers really that appealing?”

”Hehe, after feasting on delicacies all the time, sometimes you just want a cheap thrill!” Gao Sen said sheepishly, scratching the back of his head.

”You...” Gao Wenjuan was at a loss with her brother. She shot him a fierce glare, then turned to Ye Xiu and snorted. ”Humph, at least you have some sense!”

”Take Gao Sen and get lost,” Ye Xiu said expressionlessly. He didn’t want to kill anyone here, so he planned to let them leave first. Then, he, An Dongye, and Dong Fangbai would deal with them on the road.

”You...” Han Ying couldn’t believe her ears. ”What did you say? Let them go? They’ve broken the law! They should all be arrested and detained on the spot to await trial. What right do you have to let them go?”

Ye Xiu shrugged. ”Then you arrest them.”

Han Ying was speechless. I don’t have the ability to arrest people like Gao Sen and Gao Wenjuan.

”I can’t believe you’re this kind of person. I misjudged you!” Han Ying said, staring at Ye Xiu angrily.

Ye Xiu couldn’t be bothered with her and looked at Gao Wenjuan. ”Are you going to get lost or are you waiting for me to buy you a late-night snack?”

”Fine!” Gao Wenjuan didn’t care about Ye Xiu’s attitude. She had come to rescue her brother, and her objective was accomplished. She had no interest in bickering with a pest like him. She turned to her brother. ”Let’s go. Come home with me.”

”Not so fast!” Gao Sen, however, was no longer in a hurry. He pointed at Han Ying. ”Sis, this is the woman who arrested me. She even slapped me twice. I have to get my revenge for this.”

”What?” Gao Wenjuan flew into a rage. ”That bitch! How dare she hit my brother!” she commanded Gao Sen. ”Go on! She slapped you twice, so you go smash her face in.”

At those words, Han Ying’s pretty face turned pale.

Ye Xiu frowned. ”Gao Wenjuan, I’ve already returned your brother to you. I suggest you stop causing trouble here.”

Gao Wenjuan completely ignored him and said to Gao Sen, ”What are you waiting for? I told you to go wreck her face. Go!”

”Sis, you’re too brutal. How could I bear to ruin such a pretty face?” Gao Sen walked up to Han Ying with a frivolous swagger and taunted, ”Remember what I said when I was arrested? I told you I’d make you leave my room clinging to the walls for support. I’m a man of my word.”

Ignoring Han Ying’s ashen face, he turned back to his sister. ”So, sis, should I do her right here, or should I take her home?”

”Hahahaha...” Gao Wenjuan and her henchmen roared with laughter. They appreciated Gao Sen’s depravity; it was an excellent way to establish dominance and ensure the authorities wouldn’t dare to cross the Brotherhood Alliance in the future.

Han Ying’s face was livid, but she was too furious to speak.

A cold light flashed in Ye Xiu’s eyes. Gao Wenjuan and Gao Sen are in such a rush to die.

”You’d better take her home. We don’t have the time or the inclination to watch you do that sort of thing here,” Gao Wenjuan said with a laugh.

”That was my thought exactly.” Gao Sen shrugged and turned to Han Ying. ”Come on, sweet thing. Time to go home with me.”

As he said this, he reached for Han Ying’s wrist. But before his hand could touch her, his own neck was seized.

Ye Xiu had made his move.

”You...” Han Ying was stunned that Ye Xiu had saved her yet again.

Gao Sen, Gao Wenjuan, and their underlings, however, were furious.

”Kid, are you tired of living? How dare you spoil my fun!” Gao Sen snarled, unafraid despite being held by the neck.

”I don’t care who you are. I advise you to release my brother immediately. My wrath is not something you can withstand,” Gao Wenjuan said coldly. The middle-aged man beside her had already drawn his knife, ready to cut Ye Xiu down at a moment’s notice.

Seeing this, Han Ying sneered inwardly. In the eyes of Huang Quan, the Brotherhood Alliance is nothing. For Gao Wenjuan to dare threaten him... she’s courting disaster.

”This is a sacred place,” Ye Xiu stated calmly. ”I was going to let you leave so I could deal with you on the road. But since you’ve chosen to die here, so be it. I’ll grant your wish.”

With that, he coldly snapped Gao Sen’s neck.

Only after hearing his words did Han Ying realize her mistake. So he offered to return Gao Sen because he didn’t want to stain this place with blood.

”You...” Gao Sen’s face was a mask of disbelief as he collapsed limply to the ground. He had never imagined Ye Xiu would actually dare to kill him.

”Brother!” Gao Wenjuan howled in anguish upon seeing her brother’s death. She went berserk. ”You bastard! You dared to kill my brother! You must be tired of living! Kill him! Kill him for me! No, kill everyone here! Kill—”

Before she could finish, the middle-aged man beside her lunged at Ye Xiu, his face contorted in a sneer, as if he could dispatch him with a single slash. However, before he even got close, an incredibly ugly woman blocked his path. She kicked him squarely in the chest, sending him flying backward like a cannonball.

”Trash,” An Dongye said contemptuously.

”This...” Gao Wenjuan and her underlings stared in shock. Seeing An Dongye send an Eighth Grade Grandmaster flying with a single kick, they finally understood that Ye Xiu, An Dongye, and Dong Fangbai were Martial Artists—and far stronger than the middle-aged man.

We’ve really kicked an iron plate this time!

”Retreat!” Gao Wenjuan tried to give the order.

”Leave no one alive,” Ye Xiu said without expression.

”Alrighty!” An Dongye and Dong Fangbai immediately sprang into action.

Han Ying was completely stunned. She watched as the middle-aged man and the hundred-plus thugs Gao Wenjuan had brought were slaughtered by An Dongye and Dong Fangbai as easily as chickens. She couldn’t stop herself from crouching down and vomiting violently. I’ve never seen such a bloody and brutal scene before.

As Gao Wenjuan watched her underlings get cut down one by one, she collapsed to the ground in terror, overcome with regret. If I had known how powerful he was, I would have run when he first told me to take Gao Sen and leave. I came to save him, but not only did I fail, I also got myself and so many of my men killed!

Coming to her senses, she frantically crawled over to Ye Xiu. ”Don’t kill me! Please don’t kill me...” she begged. ”I was wrong, I know I was wrong! I’m willing to accept the judgment of the law...”

THUD!

Ye Xiu’s palm slammed down on the top of Gao Wenjuan’s head. ”Trash,” he said coldly.

Han Ying finally understood the true meaning behind the name Huang Quan. Life is so cheap to him... he kills on a whim!

”You’ve killed so many people from the Brotherhood Alliance,” Han Ying said after she finished being sick. ”What if they seek revenge?”

”Seven or eight hours ago, I already killed Dong Tianming and all the elites of the Brotherhood Alliance,” Ye Xiu explained calmly. ”The Eight Great National Protector War Gods are on their way to Hubei Province now to clean up the rest.”

Han Ying was dumbfounded.

Dong Tianming, the Alliance Hierarch of the Brotherhood Alliance, was dead? And all its elites were wiped out?

Truly worthy of being Huang Quan! The mighty Brotherhood Alliance was so fragile in his hands. It couldn’t even cause a ripple before its Alliance Hierarch and all its elites were slaughtered!

”There are too many people in this world who know how to evade the law, and too many who the law cannot judge,” Ye Xiu said, glancing at her with a sigh. ”Your dedication to defending the law is admirable. Your intentions are good. But passion and a hatred for evil are only enough to punish petty criminals. When faced with great evils like the Brotherhood Alliance, what good is your sense of justice?”

”You call me a murderer who tramples on the law, but tell me, without me, who would judge these colossal evils? In this world, there are too many places the law cannot reach and too many people it cannot punish. That is why this world needs someone to rule the darkness.”

Han Ying lowered her head, her face flushing crimson. She hadn’t expected Ye Xiu to choose this moment to put her in her place so thoroughly.

「...」

The head of the Long Family was woken from a deep sleep. ”What could possibly be important enough to wake me in the middle of the night?” he asked, displeased.

”The Fire Seed Company has spread the word globally. They’ve betrayed the Long Family and sided with Huang Quan,” the middle-aged beauty reported.

”What?” The head of the Long Family’s expression changed dramatically. ”Quickly, inform Long Xiaoyun and Xu Zengshan! Tell them to be wary of Du Long.”

”It’s too late,” the woman said. ”According to Long Xiaoyun’s report, Du Long led all of Fire Seed Company’s test subjects in a surprise attack on the Xu Family. Of all the experts from both families who were beyond the War God level, only Long Xiaoyun managed to escape. The rest are dead. Furthermore, Du Long, Du Hu, and Du Hang are also dead. Only three hundred or so Fire Seed test subjects remain.”

The head of the Long Family staggered, nearly fainting from the news. He had brought in the Fire Seed Company to help the Xiangyang Long Family and the Xu Family eliminate Ye Xiu. Now, before they had even caught a glimpse of their target, all three forces had been decimated.

The middle-aged beauty continued, ”Long Xiaoyun also reported that the remnants of the Fire Seed forces are now led by Ye Liangchen, who has already agreed to cooperate with the Long Family.”

”Oh? That’s an unexpected blessing.” A flicker of light returned to the head of the Long Family’s dim eyes. ”Tell Long Xiaoyun to send Ye Liangchen to me as soon as possible. I must cultivate such a talent myself.”

”Understood.” The middle-aged beauty nodded. As she was about to leave, he called out to her again.

”Is there any news of Huang Quan?” the head of the Long Family asked. This was his real concern. Ye Xiu was a nobody in his eyes, not worth fearing. It was Huang Quan who worried him. So many days had passed with no sign of Huang Quan, leaving the head of the Long Family unable to eat or sleep. He was agitated, on edge, and thoroughly panicked.

”No,” the middle-aged beauty replied, shaking her head.
