Medical and Martial God

Chapter 410: Chapter 410 God’s Perspective

Ye Xiu led Qin Ming to a secluded corner and asked, ”Do you know who I am?”

”Ma Zixiong said your name was Ye Liangchen,” Qin Ming replied.

”That’s a pseudonym. I’ll tell you my real name, but you must keep it a secret.” Ye Xiu took out his Identity Token and handed it to Qin Ming.

Qin Ming took it and glanced at it, nearly crying out. He looked around before asking in a trembling, excited voice, ”You... you, you, you’re the Xuanse Medicine King, Ye Xiu?”

”Shh... keep your voice down.”

Ye Xiu took back the Identity Token and asked with a smile, ”Do you have any doubts now?”

”None at all, none at all!”

Qin Ming’s face flushed with excitement. The reputation of the Xuanse Medicine King was as scorching as a raging inferno, a name known throughout the nation. Even Jiao Fuping had admitted that Ye Xiu could cure Qin Ming’s mother, though his fees were exorbitant.

”Go get your mother and take her to the operating room. Also, have Song Yushu prepare 360 silver needles for me,” Ye Xiu instructed.

”Yes, yes, of course...” Without a moment’s hesitation, Qin Ming dashed toward his mother. With the Xuanse Medicine King personally taking action, the success rate was guaranteed to be tens of thousands of times higher than Jiao Fuping’s.

Song Yushu and the others were still discussing how to stop Ye Xiu when they saw Qin Ming running over with delirious excitement. His behavior left them all completely baffled.

”You must be Song Yushu, correct? Could you please prepare 360 silver needles and send them to the operating room?” Qin Ming requested politely. Then, without waiting for a reply, he pushed the gurney straight toward the operating room.

Song Yushu was dumbfounded!

Song Mingde and the others were just as stunned!

What on earth did Ye Liangchen say to Qin Ming? How did he change his mind and convince him to allow acupuncture treatment for his mother?

”Yushu, you have to stop him!” Song Kaiwen urged. ”The patient is at death’s door! Her condition is far too complex. She simply can’t withstand the stimulation from acupuncture—he’ll kill her with those needles!”

”Oh, right!” Song Yushu hurriedly chased after them.

”I thought he was some kind of expert, but it turns out he’s just a lunatic.”

”Forget whether acupuncture can even treat chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. The patient’s lungs have already fibrosed, and she has pulmonary arterial hypertension. It’s impossible to cure that with acupuncture.”

”Old Dean, I’m afraid your lifelong reputation is about to be destroyed by that young man!”

”Old friend, I don’t want to be implicated by him. Please, process my resignation immediately.”

”I want to resign right now, too.”

”Once I’ve resigned, whatever happens at the Ancient Medical Hall will have nothing to do with me.”

None of the senior doctors believed Ye Xiu could cure Qin Ming’s mother with acupuncture. However, instead of trying to stop him or advising Song Mingde to intervene, they all demanded to resign immediately to evade any responsibility.

”Dad, the patient’s family trusts that kid. I’m afraid we can’t stop them,” Song Kaiwen said worriedly.

”Kaiwen, go process their resignations,” Song Mingde said after a long silence. ”I’m going to take a look.” With that, he headed straight for the operating room.

The Mingde Ancient Medical Hall did have an operating room. Although it wasn’t used often, it was fully equipped.

Shortly after Ye Xiu entered the operating room, Qin Ming pushed his mother inside.

”Wait outside,” Ye Xiu said. ”When Song Yushu brings the silver needles, you can bring them in to me. Do not allow anyone else to enter and disturb me.”

”Understood!” Qin Ming left without hesitation, running right into Song Yushu, who had come to stop them.

He firmly dissuaded Song Yushu from interfering, guaranteeing that the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall would not be held responsible if anything went wrong.

Seeing that he couldn’t convince Qin Ming, Song Yushu had no choice but to fetch the silver needles, which Qin Ming then delivered into the operating room.

Song Mingde rushed to the operating room, intending to stop Ye Xiu, but Qin Ming stood guard at the entrance like a door god, adamantly refusing to let him pass.

Just then, Jiao Fuping sauntered over, looking utterly pleased with himself.

”What are you doing here?” Song Yushu asked, his face dark.

Song Mingde was equally displeased. The Mingde Ancient Medical Hall’s current predicament was entirely Jiao Fuping’s fault. The bastard had used dirty, malicious competition to utterly ruin their clinic.

Jiao Fuping ignored them, turning to Qin Ming with a frown. ”Mr. Qin, you’ve got some nerve. How dare you let a doctor from the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall treat your mother? Aren’t you afraid they’ll kill her?”

He was furious. The plan he had discussed with Qin Ming was nothing like this. He had expected Qin Ming to bring his mother over, at which point Song Yushu, upon seeing her case file and condition, would surely refuse to accept such a risky patient and just pay the 100,000 yuan to be rid of the problem. But now, Qin Ming had gone and privately handed his mother over to these doctors.

If she dies, he’d lose his chance to profit from Qin Ming. That’s at least a 2,000,000 yuan loss!

”I have faith that the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall can cure my mother,” Qin Ming stated with unshakable confidence. If not for Ye Xiu’s orders to keep his identity secret, he would have loved to invoke the Medicine King’s name just to slap Jiao Fuping across the face with it.

”You...” Jiao Fuping seethed. ”Then you can just wait to collect your mother’s corpse! In all of Han Jin City, no, in the entire Hexia Road, no one can save your mother but me.”

He knew exactly how severe the woman’s condition was and just how fragile her body had become. Once she was on an operating table, she was guaranteed to die—unless he was the one holding the scalpel!

”My mom will live to be a hundred,” Qin Ming said with a confident smile. With the Xuanse Medicine King himself on the case, his mother would have a hard time dying even if she wanted to.

”Hmph!” Jiao Fuping snorted angrily before turning to Song Yushu and Song Mingde with a sneer. ”So, you’ve decided to just throw caution to the wind? Daring to take on a patient as complex as Wang Cuilan... you’re just asking for trouble!”

Wang Cuilan was Qin Ming’s mother.

”You...” Song Yushu and Song Mingde glared, furious.

”Tsk, tsk, look how angry you are. Just a friendly reminder, getting angry is bad for your health, you know.” Jiao Fuping deliberately provoked them with a despicable, smug tone. ”Oh, I forgot to tell you. I went ahead and notified the reporters for you. They should be here any minute. By the time they arrive, Wang Cuilan will have died right on the operating table. Tsk, tsk... what kind of headlines do you think the reporters will write then?”

The color drained from Song Yushu and Song Mingde’s faces. If reporters got involved, with Jiao Fuping fanning the flames, the situation would spiral out of control. The fallout would inevitably hit Mingde Pharmaceuticals.

”You are a despicable scumbag!” Song Yushu spat.

”Why, thank you for the compliment!” Jiao Fuping retorted with a dismissive smirk.

Song Yushu was speechless.

At that moment, a swarm of reporters came rushing over. Upon seeing them, Song Yushu and Song Mingde’s hearts sank, while Jiao Fuping, in contrast, looked absolutely gleeful.

”Director Jiao, you’re here too! Excuse me, can you tell us what’s happening?” a reporter asked, immediately starting an interview.

Jiao Fuping let out a dramatic sigh. ”Alas, this is quite a long story. Not long ago, Wankang Wellness Hall admitted a critically ill patient with an extremely complex condition.

”She has chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, her lungs have already fibrosed, and she also has pulmonary hypertension. The conventional treatment is a lung transplant, but the patient also has severe high blood pressure, heart disease, and poor liver and kidney function. With such a complex case, across all of Hexia Road, only I have the confidence to perform the surgery.

”The patient’s family had originally agreed to it. But then today, the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall started advertising free treatment, with a 100,000 yuan payout if they fail.

”To save on the exorbitant surgery fees, or maybe just to get their hands on the 100,000 yuan, the family actually brought the patient here. He’s basically trying to get his own mother killed!

”Upholding my ethics as a doctor, I came to dissuade them. But under the persuasion of the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall, the family insisted on letting them operate. The Mingde Ancient Medical Hall simply lacks the facilities and skills to perform this surgery. This is murder!”

Qin Ming watched Jiao Fuping as if he were looking at a fool. At that moment, he felt like he was watching a monkey’s performance from God’s point of view.

He suddenly couldn’t wait for the moment his mother, cured by Ye Xiu, would walk out of that operating room. The look on Jiao Fuping’s face when he was proven wrong... that would be a sight to see.
