Chapter 404: Chapter 404 Two Tigers Two Tigers Run Fast

On the fifth floor, in the General Manager’s office.

Ma Zixiong was staring at a video screenshot on his computer when Qin Ming knocked and entered.

”Mr. Ma, is there something you needed?”

”Brother Ming, come over here. See if you recognize this person,” Ma Zixiong beckoned.

Qin Ming walked over immediately. The moment he saw the person on the computer screen, he froze. ”It’s him?”

”You know him?” Ma Zixiong asked.

”I went to Wankang Wellness Hall to make a payment this evening. When I came out, he asked me for a light,” Qin Ming explained. ”Mr. Ma, do you know him?”

”No,” Ma Zixiong said, shaking his head. ”A moment ago, he took Lili to the restroom to ask about you.”

”Ask about me? But I don’t know him. I don’t even know his name, and he doesn’t know mine,” Qin Ming said, perplexed.

Ma Zixiong frowned. ”Then why would he be asking about you? Forget it. We’ll find out when Master Niu brings him here.”

Just then, a knock sounded at the door.

”Come in!” Ma Zixiong shouted.

Master Niu limped into the room.

”What happened to your leg?” Ma Zixiong asked.

”That kid did it...”

Master Niu recounted what had happened with Ye Xiu. ”He asked me what Master Qin does on the fifth floor. I didn’t dare to tell him, so he told me to find someone with the guts to talk and send them to see him.”

Ma Zixiong and Qin Ming exchanged a glance.

Qin Ming spoke up, ”I’ll go see him.”

”No. You’re a member of the lab now; you can’t expose yourself so easily. I’ll go see him instead.”

Ma Zixiong flatly refused, pulling out his phone to make a call. ”First Squad, assemble on the second floor. Bring guns. Oh, and bring a smoke grenade.”

After hanging up, he rose and left the office with Master Niu. By the time they reached the second floor, the First Squad was already assembled.

Ten men, ten AKs. Their gazes were sharp and their steps were heavy—clearly, they were no ordinary street thugs.

”That kid has a handgun. Everyone, be careful!”

Ma Zixiong took a smoke grenade from a squad member, gave a word of caution, and led the team to the private room where Ye Xiu was.

As they approached, they heard a howling chorus from within the room:

”Two tigers, two tigers, run so fast, run so fast! One has no ears, one has no tail, oh what a strange sight...”

Ma Zixiong, Master Niu, and the First Squad exchanged bewildered glances. They had never expected something like this. Someone was singing inside, and it was a nursery rhyme, of all things.

”Get ready!” Ma Zixiong commanded.

Instantly, all ten members of the First Squad chambered their rounds.

Ma Zixiong pulled the pin on the smoke grenade, pushed open the door, and tossed it inside, planning to smoke Ye Xiu out.

However, the instant the grenade flew in, it flew right back out before it even hit the floor.

BANG!

The smoke grenade landed at their feet, erupting with thick, hissing smoke.

The sudden turn of events startled Ma Zixiong, Master Niu, and the First Squad. But unlike Master Niu, Ma Zixiong’s composure was exceptional.

”Charge in!”

Ma Zixiong yelled, leading the charge himself. The moment he burst through the door, he performed a combat roll.

Ye Liangchen threw the smoke grenade back to catch us off guard. If I charge in now, I can catch him off guard instead!

”Don’t move! Hands up!”

He finished the roll in a half-crouch, raised his AK, and bellowed, only to freeze.

Inside the room, seven of the private room ’Princesses’ were squatting on the floor, howling a chorus of *Two Tigers*. Song Yushu sat on the sofa, sipping her drink.

There was no sign of Ye Liangchen.

”Where is he?” Ma Zixiong demanded.

”Look behind you,” Song Yushu said.

Ma Zixiong stiffened. He turned his head, and his expression changed dramatically. Standing behind him was a handsome young man, pointing a gun at his head.

It was Ye Xiu.

Master Niu and the First Squad were nowhere to be seen; they hadn’t followed him in.

”Where are my men?” Ma Zixiong, true to his status as a boss, remained calm even with a gun to his head.

”When I threw the smoke grenade out, I slipped out with it. While you were charging in, I knocked all your men unconscious,” Ye Xiu said.

”What?” Ma Zixiong was finally shaken. He knew how short that moment was. He had only pushed the door open a crack, yet this man had managed to slip out in that instant. He, Master Niu, and the First Squad hadn’t seen a thing.

Furthermore, in the brief moment he had charged in, Master Niu and the entire squad had been taken out, and he hadn’t heard a single sound. To knock out Master Niu and ten gunners in an instant amidst thick smoke was not something an ordinary person could do.

”Are you a Martial Artist?” Ma Zixiong asked.

”I am,” Ye Xiu nodded, taking the AK from Ma Zixiong’s hands. ”So, from now on, you’re going to answer my questions honestly. Otherwise, I’ll snap your neck.”

”Hmph!” Ma Zixiong snorted coldly, unafraid. ”So what if you’re a Martial Artist? The Han Jin City International Entertainment Club has the backing of an Ancient Martial Family.”

”Oh?” That surprised Ye Xiu. ”Which one?”

”The Xu Family!” Ma Zixiong declared.

”In that case, you can call the Xu Family right now. Have them send someone over,” Ye Xiu said.

Ma Zixiong was stunned. He thought mentioning the Xu Family would intimidate Ye Xiu, but instead, he was told to call them over.

It seems this Ye Liangchen has the backing of an Ancient Martial Family as well.

”Hurry up. If the Xu Family doesn’t send someone within half an hour, I’ll blow up the Han Jin City International Entertainment Club,” Ye Xiu urged.

”Yes, yes, yes!” Ma Zixiong’s composure finally shattered. He quickly took out his phone and called the Xu Family right in front of Ye Xiu.

After hanging up, he said, ”The Xu Family is very close by. They can be here in less than twenty minutes.”

”Good. While we wait for them, let’s talk.”

Ye Xiu gestured for the seven ’Princesses’ to stop singing. After sitting down, he asked, ”What’s your name?”

”Ma Zixiong,” he replied.

Ye Xiu paused. ”So, it was you.”

”You know me?” Ma Zixiong asked.

”No, but I know that you’re the one who went to Changxu City three months ago and brought Qin Ming to Han Jin City,” Ye Xiu stated.

Ma Zixiong was deeply shocked. Very few people knew about his trip to Changxu City three months prior, and he had brought Qin Ming to Han Jin City through secret channels. How could Ye Liangchen possibly know?

”Speak. Why did you bring Qin Ming to Han Jin City?” Ye Xiu demanded.

Ma Zixiong’s eyes darted around before he said, ”Qin Ming and I are old acquaintances. I heard his mother had a terminal illness, so I made a special trip to Changxu City to pick her up with him and bring them to the Wankang Wellness Hall for treatment here in Han Jin City.”

So, my father-in-law’s mother is at Wankang Wellness Hall... Ye Xiu realized, then asked, ”And?”

”That’s all,” Ma Zixiong said, shaking his head.

BANG!

Ye Xiu raised his gun and fired, hitting Ma Zixiong’s left kneecap.

”Aaargh!” Ma Zixiong cried out in pain but forced himself to stay upright.

Song Yushu, however, went pale with fright at the gunshot. She was incredulous. She couldn’t believe the driver she had just hired was so ruthless and decisive. He shot a man without even frowning, as if he did this sort of thing all the time.

”I’m not an idiot, so don’t try to play games with me.” Ye Xiu blew on the barrel of his gun. ”From now on, for every wrong answer, you get a bullet. Don’t worry, though. I guarantee you’ll still be alive even after I’ve emptied this pistol and a full magazine from the AK into you.”
