Medical and Martial God

Chapter 407: Chapter 407 Despicable and Shameless

When Jiao Fuping called him an idiot, Ye Xiu almost reflexively smacked the man but managed to hold back. He said coldly, ”I’ll say it again, you will regret this!”

”Trash!” Jiao Fuping sneered, no longer bothering to engage with Ye Xiu. Speaking to such a piddling nobody was beneath him.

He looked at Song Yushu teasingly and said, ”Director Song, you’ve really outdone yourself this time compared to last year. Tsk tsk, a payout of 100,000 if the treatment fails? What a bold move. Aren’t you afraid of gambling away your entire dowry?”

”Just you wait and see!” Song Yushu retorted.

There was no confidence in her words; she even lacked the courage to meet Jiao Fuping’s eyes. She had very little faith in Ye Xiu.

”I’m waiting to see the Song Family go completely broke!” Jiao Fuping shrugged and turned to leave with a boisterous laugh.

”Director Jiao!” Ye Xiu called out.

”What do you want, trash?” Jiao Fuping turned and asked, his face a mask of disdain.

”You wet your pants,” Ye Xiu said, pointing toward Jiao Fuping’s legs.

”You’re the one who—” Jiao Fuping was about to retort when he suddenly felt a warm sensation in his crotch. Looking down, he saw that his pants were indeed soaked by a large wet patch.

What’s going on?

Jiao Fuping was utterly dumbfounded. I’m a disciple of the Medicine King Valley, the director of the Wankang Wellness Hall, and a Martial Artist with the strength of a War God! How could I possibly be incontinent?Song Yushu pointed at Jiao Fuping, laughing so hard she bent over. ”Director Jiao, I didn’t realize a grown man like you still had a problem with wetting your pants. You should remember to wear diapers when you go out from now on.”

”Director Jiao is a man of high standards. He’d rather wet his pants than relieve himself in public,” Ye Xiu teased. ”Of course, it’s also possible that Director Jiao’s cerebellum isn’t fully developed.”

Not far away, An Dongye was sprawled on a rooftop, watching Jiao Fuping through a sniper scope. She laughed so hard she started rolling on the ground. She certainly didn’t believe Jiao Fuping was incontinent; after all, she knew just how advanced the medical skills of the Medicine King Valley were.

So, this was the little brother’s doing? Nicely done!

”You... you all...” Jiao Fuping was so angry he was grinding his teeth. Seeing passersby beginning to stare, he shot a glare at Ye Xiu and Song Yushu before turning tail and bolting toward the Wankang Wellness Hall.

Ye Xiu flicked his finger.

THUD.

Jiao Fuping went sprawling, landing face-first on the ground.

Jiao Fuping was shocked. I have the strength of a War God, yet I tripped and fell? This is completely unscientific!

However, he had no time to ponder such things. He scrambled to his feet and continued running toward the Wankang Wellness Hall, a fresh wave of mockery following him.

”Hahaha...”

This time, it wasn’t just Song Yushu who burst out laughing; the passing pedestrians couldn’t help but join in.

An Dongye drew a sharp breath. She knew Jiao Fuping’s level of strength and couldn’t fathom how her little brother had made him fall so silently. It seems I’ve really underestimated him, she thought.

”Did you do that?” Song Yushu asked Ye Xiu. She didn’t believe for a second that Jiao Fuping was actually incontinent or that he had tripped by accident.

”Just teaching him a little lesson,” Ye Xiu admitted frankly.

Song Yushu was secretly amazed and incredibly curious. She couldn’t understand how Ye Xiu had made Jiao Fuping wet himself and fall over without ever touching him. Does this guy have some kind of innate Curse Attribute?

”Come on, let’s go in and see the patients,” Ye Xiu said.

”Okay!” Song Yushu nodded.

「...」

Jiao Fuping returned to his director’s office at the Wankang Wellness Hall. After changing his pants, he paced back and forth, fuming. He couldn’t figure out why he had lost control of his bladder, nor why he had suddenly fallen.

Was I hexed?

”Director...” At that moment, his pretty secretary walked in. ”The Mingde Ancient Medical Hall is pulling the same old stunt as last year. How should we counter them this time?”

Jiao Fuping took a deep breath, pushing the questions about his humiliating incident to the back of his mind. After a moment of thought, he said, ”Song Yushu’s tactics are different this time. She’s come up with this new gimmick of paying 100,000 in compensation if they fail to cure someone. Go notify all the patients at our Wellness Hall. Tell them to head over to the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall to make some easy money.”

He kept his true intention to himself: once the patients returned with their ”easy money,” he would find a way to swindle it from them.

”Should we also help the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall with some promotion? We could encourage all the critically and terminally ill patients in Han Jin City, and maybe even all of Hexia Road, to go there for treatment?” the secretary proposed, a devious idea.

Jiao Fuping’s eyes narrowed. Helping them advertise would cost a fair bit of money, but it could also drive the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall into bankruptcy that much faster. He might even be able to take down Mingde Pharmaceuticals in the process. After all, at 100,000 per patient, the sheer number of terminally and critically ill people in Hexia Road, let alone the entire country, could completely drain Mingde Pharmaceuticals’ liquid assets.

With this in mind, Jiao Fuping snapped his fingers. ”Do it!”

He instructed his secretary, ”Arrange for some people, as many as you can. Get them in cars with loudspeakers and send them out to the county towns and villages to spread the word. I want everyone in Han Jin City to know about this within one day, and everyone in Hexia Road to know within two.”

”Understood. I’ll get on it right away!” the secretary said, immediately heading out to make the arrangements.

After she left, Jiao Fuping took out his phone and began a flurry of calls. He called the various media outlets in Hexia Road, then the directors of the major hospitals, and then the television stations. The calls alone took him over an hour.

Just as he finished, there was a knock on the door.

Qin Ming walked in carrying two duffel bags. ”Director Jiao, I’ve raised the 2,000,000. When do you plan to operate on my mother?” he asked, placing the bags on the desk.

”You raised 1,000,000 overnight?” Jiao Fuping stared at Qin Ming in shock. ”How did you manage that?”

”That’s my business. You don’t need to worry about it,” Qin Ming said, his face devoid of expression. ”I have the money now. When will you operate on my mother?”

For that 1,000,000, I cast aside my principles and agreed to work in the Xu Family’s laboratory. Right now, I feel like I don’t even deserve to be called human. But to save my mother, I can’t afford to think about myself!

”No rush, no rush!” Jiao Fuping said with a cheerful smile. ”Mr. Qin, your mother’s surgery still requires some preparation. I will personally perform the operation tomorrow at the latest. In the meantime, why don’t you take your mother over to the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall and make a quick buck?”

Qin Ming’s brow furrowed. He knew exactly what Jiao Fuping was implying, as he had heard the loudspeaker announcements from the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall on his way over. ”Director Jiao, I think you misunderstand my character. I, Qin Ming, may be poor, but I have not stooped to the level of committing fraud.”

”And what if I insist that you go?” Jiao Fuping’s smile turned into a cold smirk. ”If you don’t do as I say, you can take your mother and transfer to another hospital. I won’t be performing her surgery.”

”You...” Qin Ming was seething, silently cursing Jiao Fuping for being so despicable and shameless. But for his mother’s sake, he had to give in. Gritting his teeth, he said, ”Fine, I’ll go.”
