Medical and Martial God

Chapter 428: Chapter 428: Kidnapper Ye Xiu

”You’re forcing my hand!” Ye Xiu said with a frown.

”If you say so.”

Long Wu, looking exceedingly pleased with herself, continued, ”The Mingde Ancient Medical Hall has been treating patients for free for three days. For the past two days, you’ve cured every ailment with a single needle, never once failing. If you can’t cure me today, your undefeated legend will be shattered. You’ll no longer be the Divine Doctor who can heal any illness.”

Long Wu had thought it all through the previous night. Ye Liangchen knew her secret, so he had to die. Yet, she worried that no other doctor could cure her illness. So, she came up with this plan to pull the rug out from under him, arriving before dawn to be first in line at the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall. She was certain that for the sake of his reputation, and for the hall’s, Ye Liangchen would have to cure her.

”I hate being threatened. Acting like this only makes me despise you more,” Ye Xiu said coldly.

”I don’t care whether you despise me or not,” Long Wu replied with a shrug.

”Don’t push me!” Ye Xiu said angrily.

”So what if I do? Going to bite me?” Long Wu taunted.

”You...” Furious, Ye Xiu raised his voice and boomed, ”Ma’am, you’ve had four abortions! You have serious gynecological problems, and you have already lost the ability to conceive...”

His voice was so loud it startled the doctors and nurses working on the first floor, as well as Song Yushu, Song Mingde, and Song Kaiwen, who were fantasizing about the bright future of the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall. Even the patients queuing outside the building heard every word.

”You...” Long Wu panicked. She had never expected Ye Xiu to be so ruthless, willing to sacrifice his own reputation rather than treat her.

”Come on, let’s hurt each other!” Ye Xiu sneered.

”You... you’re ruthless!” Long Wu spat through gritted teeth. She shot up from her chair and ran. Ye Xiu had only revealed her medical condition, but she feared if she stayed any longer, he would shout out her name and completely ruin her.

Heh, you’re still too naive to fight me... Ye Xiu snorted and called out, ”Next!”

With that, the orderly treatments resumed.

Song Yushu, Song Mingde, and Song Kaiwen watched this unfold, their hearts filled with delight.

”It is said that one man can build a nation; likewise, one man can revitalize an ancient medical hall,” Song Mingde mused, grinning from ear to ear. ”Ye Liangchen has single-handedly saved the Ancient Medical Hall.”

”Dad, the reputation you built for the hall over half a lifetime of practice can’t compare to what Ye Liangchen has achieved in just two days,” Song Kaiwen said with a laugh.

”The younger generation is truly formidable, truly formidable!” Song Mingde showed no signs of jealousy over Ye Xiu’s superior medical skills. On the contrary, his appreciation for the young man grew. He turned to Song Yushu and said, ”Yushu, I plan to give the Ancient Medical Hall to you and Ye Liangchen. You’ll manage it, and he’ll be its cornerstone. I believe it won’t be long before the hall’s reputation rivals that of the Divine Mercy Medical Academy.”

Song Yushu gave a bitter smile. ”With his medical skills, he’d be highly valued even at the Divine Mercy Medical Academy. I’m afraid he wouldn’t give our Ancient Medical Hall a second glance.”

”Well, that depends on you,” Song Mingde teased. ”My granddaughter is beautiful, kind, and capable. Put in a little effort. Is there any man you can’t win over?”

To keep Ye Xiu, Song Mingde didn’t hesitate to encourage his granddaughter to use her charms.

”Grandfather, stop it...” Song Yushu lowered her head, her face flushing with embarrassment.

Seeing this, Song Mingde and Song Kaiwen burst into laughter. It was obvious to them that Song Yushu had feelings for Ye Liangchen. After all, he was young, handsome, exceptionally skilled in medicine, and had a good character. Such an outstanding man was a rare find. What woman wouldn’t be drawn to him?

The day’s work finally came to an end. With that, the three-day free treatment event was successfully completed.

”Ye Liangchen, are you free tonight? I’d like to treat you to dinner,” Song Yushu said, approaching him bashfully. ”Don’t get the wrong idea. I... I just want to thank you for saving the Ancient Medical Hall. Nothing more.”

Ye Xiu gave Song Yushu a long look before declining. ”I have something to do tonight. Let’s talk about it another time. By the way, the free event is over. Remember to return the 100 million I gave you.”

With that, he walked briskly out of the building.

Watching his retreating back, Song Yushu felt so wronged she suddenly wanted to cry. She had asked Ye Liangchen out every single night, and every single time, he had refused.

Am I really that repulsive? He won’t even share a single meal with me.

She walked out, dejected, and suddenly saw Ye Xiu get into a Porsche. She could vaguely make out that the driver was a woman—a very beautiful one.

So, he’s going on a date with another girl... Song Yushu suddenly felt a pang of heartbreak.

...

”Great-grandfather sent me to pick you up. He said the plan has started,” Long Wu said from behind the wheel of the Porsche. ”What exactly is this plan you and Great-grandfather have come up with?”

She was furious. The Guoyang Long Family, the Xu Family, the Fire Seed Company... it seemed like everyone knew Ye Liangchen’s plan except for her.

”This morning, Long Xiaoyun, Xu Zengshan, and Du Long personally went to Yancheng,” Ye Xiu explained. ”They captured everyone from the Dong Family except for Dong Tianming. At noon, I used Dong Shuo’s phone to call Dong Tianming and told him to bring one billion in cash to Han Jin City to ransom them.”

Long Wu was aghast. She never imagined Ye Liangchen could be so decisive and bold, using the entire Dong Family as bait to lure Dong Tianming into a trap. Wasn’t he afraid that Dong Tianming, in a fit of rage, would lead the tens of thousands from the Brotherhood Alliance to storm Han Jin City?

Just then, Dong Shuo’s phone rang. It was Dong Tianming.

”I’ve arrived in Han Jin City with the money. Where’s the exchange?” His voice was low, suppressing a tidal wave of killing intent.

”The location is secret. I’ll have someone guide you. Why don’t you send one of your people to pick up my guide?” Ye Xiu said.

”Where are they?” Dong Tianming asked.

Ye Xiu gave Dong Tianming his current location. ”The passphrase is: ’What’s one plus one?’ The answer is: ’Double-click 666.’”

After hanging up, he turned to Long Wu and said, ”Stop the car!”

Long Wu was stunned. ”You want me to be Dong Tianming’s guide?”

”I’ll guide him myself!” Ye Xiu said with a cold smile.

”Are you crazy?” Long Wu exclaimed. ”Aren’t you afraid he’ll kill you?”

”Isn’t that what you want?” Ye Xiu said flatly as he opened the door and got out.

Long Wu stared at him for a long moment before driving away. She did indeed wish Ye Xiu were dead, and she hoped Dong Tianming would be the one to kill him. But she thought it was unlikely. Dong Tianming was a War God, but so was Ye Liangchen. Even if Dong Tianming brought a group of men, Ye Liangchen could still escape if he wanted to.

...

Ye Xiu waited by the roadside for over an hour. Finally, an Audi A8 approached, leading a convoy of more than a dozen large trucks carrying shipping containers. The Audi pulled up beside him.

The front passenger window rolled down, revealing an imposing old man who sized Ye Xiu up. ”What’s one plus one?”

Ye Xiu was inwardly surprised. He had assumed Dong Tianming would send a subordinate to make contact. After all, any normal person would suspect an ambush and wouldn’t dare to come in person. To think Dong Tianming came himself!

He replied, ”Double-click 666!”

”Get in,” Dong Tianming said, his face expressionless.

”No need. The hostages are nearby. You get out, and I’ll take you to them,” Ye Xiu said.
