Chapter 414: Chapter 414: Qin Qing and Qin Ming Recognize Each Other

After Qin Ming and Song Kaiwen helped Wang Cuilan out, Song Yushu and Song Mingde turned their attention to Ye Xiu, examining him from head to toe as if he were a piece of fine jade. Song Yushu clicked her tongue and said, ”No wonder you insisted I organize this free treatment event. You really are a hidden gem.”

Song Mingde was taken aback, realizing the event had been Ye Liangchen’s idea. He said, ”Young man, you have truly astounded me. Now, can you tell me how you cured Wang Cuilan with acupuncture?”

Heh, it’s not that I look down on you, but you wouldn’t understand even if I explained it... Ye Xiu complained internally, but he said aloud, ”Elder Song, there’s still a large crowd of patients outside, queuing up under the sun and waiting for us.”

”Right, right, I almost forgot about that! Let’s hurry over,” Song Mingde said quickly.

Ye Xiu nodded to himself. For the sake of the patients, Song Mingde could instantly suppress his curiosity and thirst for knowledge. The old man truly possessed noble medical ethics.

Next, Song Yushu and Song Mingde witnessed Ye Xiu’s astounding medical skills firsthand. No matter the patient or the ailment, Ye Xiu needed only a single needle. For ordinary patients, he was done in a minute. Even with complex and difficult cases, Ye Xiu never took more than ten minutes to heal them.

”Grandfather, Ye Liangchen’s medical skills are simply divine. I’m afraid even the Xuanse Medicine King Ye Xiu’s skills might not be superior to his, right?” Song Yushu asked in a low voice.

Song Mingde shook his head. ”Yushu, you’ve never seen the skills of the Xuanse Medicine King, Divine Doctor Ye. That is what you call turning decay into magic. I witnessed it once, ten years ago, and I nearly mistook him for a supreme immortal descending to the mortal realm. Ye Liangchen’s medical skills are indeed divine, but there is still an insurmountable gap between him and Ye Xiu.”

As he spoke, he began to entertain some ulterior motives. ”You must find a way to make Ye Liangchen stay. As long as he’s here, the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall will surely become the second most renowned hospital, surpassed only by the Shenghe Medical Academy.”

”I’ll do my best!” Song Yushu had no confidence at all. Ye Liangchen was handsome, a master of martial arts, a brilliant physician, and wealthy. How could such a man ever be content in the humble Mingde Ancient Medical Hall?

Just then, Qin Qing and Wu Meiyu walked in.

”Are you two here for treatment? Please get in line,” Song Yushu said, her eyes fixed on Qin Qing. She had always considered herself pretty, with a good figure and an elegant air, but compared to Qin Qing, she suddenly felt like a country bumpkin.

”They’re here to see Qin Ming and Wang Cuilan,” Ye Xiu said as he walked over. ”You two handle things here for a moment. I’ll take them to the patient room.”

”Alright!” Song Mingde nodded.

Song Yushu’s eyes darted between Ye Xiu and Qin Qing, trying to guess their relationship.

”Let’s go!” Ye Xiu led Qin Qing and Wu Meiyu toward the elevator.

Once inside, the calm facades Qin Qing and Wu Meiyu had put on suddenly crumbled.

”My dear son-in-law, I... I’m suddenly so nervous. What should I do?” Wu Meiyu asked, her voice faltering.

”I’m a little nervous too,” Qin Qing admitted.

Ye Xiu knew why they were nervous. They were worried their appearance would disrupt Qin Ming’s life. After all, if Qin Ming had a wife who found out he had a twenty-five-year-old daughter from another woman, she would eat him alive. Smiling, he said, ”I’ve already checked. Qin Ming is still unmarried, a forty-seven-year-old bachelor.”

Hearing this, most of Qin Qing’s anxiety vanished, leaving only the jitters of meeting her biological father. She smiled at Wu Meiyu and said, ”Mom, I never realized you were such a heartbreaker.”

”You naughty child, stop teasing me,” Wu Meiyu feigned annoyance, but inwardly she was thrilled.

The elevator arrived at the ward floor. When the trio reached the door to the room, Qin Qing and Wu Meiyu swiftly ducked behind Ye Xiu, pushing him forward to enter first.

Ye Xiu shook his head with a chuckle and pushed the door open. Inside, Qin Ming and Wang Cuilan were chatting. They saw Ye Xiu enter, followed by two women with their heads bowed low, their faces obscured by him.

”Divine Doctor Ye, you saved my mother’s life. Thank you...” Qin Ming said, rising to greet him and preparing to kneel.

”Please, don’t...” Ye Xiu quickly caught him, saying awkwardly, ”You can’t kneel to me, of all people.”

Qin Ming was stunned. ”What do you mean by that?”

”I’m your son-in-law,” Ye Xiu stated.

Huh?

Qin Ming and Wang Cuilan were utterly dumbfounded.

”Divine Doctor Ye, wait a moment...” Qin Ming’s head was buzzing. He continued, ”You must be mistaken. I’ve been single my whole life. I’ve never been married, so how could I have a daughter, let alone a son-in-law?”

”After Wu Meiyu was with you, she gave birth to a daughter,” Ye Xiu explained.

Qin Ming looked as if he had been struck by lightning.

Wang Cuilan, however, reacted quickly. ”Really? I have a granddaughter? Divine Doctor Ye, are you telling the truth?” she asked excitedly.

At that moment, Qin Ming snapped back to reality. He grabbed Ye Xiu’s hand, his voice thick with emotion. ”Did Meiyu tell you this? Is she sure her daughter is my child?”

”I’m sure!” Wu Meiyu walked forward timidly, her head still lowered. ”Ming, long time no see. Um, how... how have you been?”

”Meiyu?” In that instant, Qin Ming lost all control of his expression. Shock, excitement, confusion, and a dozen other emotions warred on his face, creating a remarkable sight.

”You see,” Wu Meiyu said nervously, her own emotions in a greater state of turmoil than his, ”when I broke up with you back then, it was because the Ming Family threatened me with your life and my family’s. The truth is... the truth is that Qin Zhongwen was infertile. So... so Qin Qing really is your daughter.”

”So that’s how it was... So that’s how it was...” This man of iron will suddenly broke down, tears streaming down his face as he mumbled incoherently. Even standing close by, Ye Xiu couldn’t understand a single word his father-in-law was saying.

”Meiyu, where’s my granddaughter? Where is she? Why didn’t you bring her?” Wang Cuilan asked, tremblingly getting out of bed. She was so overwhelmed with joy she could not even stand.

”Grandma, I’m here!” Qin Qing said softly.

Qin Ming and Wang Cuilan’s heads snapped up to look at Qin Qing.

”You... you, you... you’re my daughter?” Qin Ming’s tongue was tied.

”Dad, it’s me,” Qin Qing nodded.

The tears flowed even more fiercely from Qin Ming’s eyes. He stared at Qin Qing, his lips forming different shapes, unable to utter a single complete word.

”A granddaughter... I have a granddaughter! The Qin Family line won’t die out...” Wang Cuilan was also weeping with joy as she tumbled off the bed with a thud.

Qin Qing rushed over to help her up.

Watching this scene, Ye Xiu gave a wry smile. He had originally planned to ask Qin Ming about the Fire Seed Company, but it seemed that would not be possible for a while. He quietly slipped out of the room, leaving the family to their reunion.

「6:00 p.m.」

The first day of free medical treatment finally came to an end.

Ye Xiu returned to the patient room. Qin Ming and his mother, along with Qin Qing and her mother, had moved past their initial burst of emotion and were now able to converse calmly. However, upon seeing Ye Xiu enter, Qin Ming and Wang Cuilan still scrambled to their feet to greet him, acting as if Ye Xiu were the elder and they were his juniors.

Qin Qing and Wu Meiyu exchanged a glance. For a son-in-law to achieve this much, Ye Xiu was truly in a class of his own.
