Medical and Martial God

Chapter 421: Chapter 421: Get a Preemptive Shot

At six o’clock in the evening, Ye Xiu finished his day’s work, declined Song Yushu’s invitation to dinner, and took a taxi to the Xu Family.

On the way, Mo Luo said, ”Young Master, there’s a car following us. It’s being quite brazen, staying just a few meters from our taxi’s bumper.”

Ye Xiu turned to look. Indeed, a black Mercedes was tailing them closely, and the driver was none other than Jiao Fuping.

He sneered. ”Jiao Fuping is deliberately letting me know he’s following me. He thinks this will pressure me and make me afraid. He really has a death wish!”

”Shall I go send him on his way?” Mo Luo asked for instructions.

”No rush. Lead him to the Xu Family. I’ll take this opportunity to see if the Medicine King Valley is the Long Family,” Ye Xiu said.

Mo Luo nodded. ”Understood!”

Inside the black Mercedes, Jiao Fuping’s lips curled into the smile of a cat playing with a mouse. As Ye Xiu predicted, he was following so openly on purpose, letting Ye Xiu know that he had come for revenge. In Jiao Fuping’s mind, Ye Liangchen must be terrified, panicking and regretting ever having offended him.

Therefore, Jiao Fuping was in no hurry to make a move. He wanted Ye Liangchen to stew in his fear for a little longer, right up until his mind broke and he begged the taxi driver to stop so he could get out, kneel, and beg for forgiveness. Jiao Fuping loved this kind of cat-and-mouse game; it gave him a sense of superiority.

However, ten minutes passed, and the taxi showed no signs of stopping. Twenty minutes passed, and the taxi continued to drive steadily. Half an hour later, Jiao Fuping sucked in a sharp breath. Is Ye Liangchen’s mental fortitude that strong? He still hasn’t broken down.

Jiao Fuping couldn’t hold back any longer. He slammed his foot on the accelerator and jerked the steering wheel, intending to overtake the taxi and force it to a stop.

Just then, however, the taxi turned into the Shimao Longwan Villas. Jiao Fuping froze for a moment. What is Ye Liangchen doing here?

While he was still confused, the taxi stopped at the gate of a large mansion. The Xu Family? What is Ye Liangchen doing at the Xu Family? Jiao Fuping was completely bewildered and quickly slammed on the brakes.

Watching Ye Xiu get out of the taxi and enter the Xu Family’s villa, Jiao Fuping hesitated. He had just used and beaten Xu Zhiqiang. If he entered the Xu Family now, he would likely escalate the conflict.

Ye Xiu stood at the gate of the Xu residence and rang the doorbell.

Soon, a very pretty girl opened the door and greeted him with a warm smile. ”You must be Ye Liangchen, right? Everyone is waiting for you in the backyard. Please, come in!” She was very enthusiastic.

However, when Ye Xiu saw the girl, a fleeting look of shock flashed through his eyes. Dragon Hollyhock? Crap, it’s not even dark yet. Am I seeing ghosts? I definitely killed her, so how is this girl alive? No, that’s not right. If she were Dragon Hollyhock, she would have recognized me... Ye Xiu nodded and entered the Xu Family’s property, asking casually, ”You’re very beautiful. May I ask your name?”

”My name is Long Wu.” Being praised by Ye Xiu didn’t seem to affect her. She knew she was beautiful and was used to the compliments. So, it isn’t Dragon Hollyhock. She must be her twin sister... Ye Xiu breathed a sigh of relief and followed Long Wu into the residence.

Meanwhile, after much hesitation, Jiao Fuping finally decided to enter the Xu Family’s estate to kill Ye Xiu. He figured he could also find a way to resolve the animosity between himself and Xu Zhiqiang.

Ye Xiu followed Long Wu to the backyard, where he saw chefs roasting a whole sheep. Groups of people were gathered in twos and threes, chatting idly.

”Ye Liangchen?” Upon seeing Ye Xiu, Xu Zhiqiang’s face instantly filled with hatred. He said coldly, ”Heaven has a path, but you refused to take it. Hell has no gate, yet you’ve barged right in. You can forget about leaving my home alive today.”

His words stunned Ye Xiu for a moment. Didn’t Xu Zengshan say he would stop Xu Zhiqiang from taking revenge on me?

On second thought, Ye Xiu understood. Xu Zengshan had deliberately not stopped Xu Zhiqiang because he wanted to use him to test Ye Xiu’s strength.

”Xu Zhiqiang, Ye Liangchen is a guest invited by your great-grandfather. You will not be rude,” Long Wu chided.

”Bullshit! Ye Liangchen is just a lowly doctor. Is he even worthy of my great-grandfather’s invitation?” Xu Zhiqiang didn’t believe her and continued coldly, ”Long Wu, I’m warning you. This is the Xu Family’s territory, not the Long Family’s from Guoyang. You have no place interfering in the feud between me and Ye Liangchen.”

Long Wu’s eyebrows shot up. Realizing Xu Zhiqiang wouldn’t listen, she hurried toward the mansion, intending to get Xu Zengshan to intervene.

Seeing this, Xu Zhiqiang ordered, ”Men, chop off Ye Liangchen’s damned hands for me!” He was still seething about Ye Xiu choking him in the duty room of the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall.

”Young Master, surely a mere doctor isn’t worth our effort?” one of the men said disdainfully as they all gathered around. He was a short, middle-aged man.

The others also looked at Ye Xiu with a mix of mockery and contempt. They looked down on this doctor, and none of them were willing to act, fearing it would dirty their hands.

”He’s not an ordinary doctor. He’s also a Martial Artist, and I’m no match for him,” Xu Zhiqiang said.

This elicited a ripple of surprise from the crowd. They hadn’t expected this nobody to be a person of some significance. From Xu Zhiqiang’s tone, it sounded like he had fought Ye Liangchen before and come out on the losing end.

”If that’s the case, shall I take care of him for you, Young Master?” the short, middle-aged man asked with a relaxed smile, as if dealing with Ye Xiu would be effortless.

”First, chop off both his hands,” Xu Zhiqiang commanded.

”No problem,” the man agreed readily. He pulled a dagger from behind his waist and prepared to strike.

”Wait!” Ye Xiu shouted, stopping him. He then called out, ”Xu Zengshan, is this how you treat your guests? If you don’t come out and stop this now, I can’t guarantee what will happen next!”

This was a preemptive warning. If Xu Zengshan still refused to show himself, he couldn’t blame Ye Xiu for what was to come, even if it meant killing Pang Ze. Moreover, Ye Xiu was certain that Xu Zengshan would not appear.

As he expected, no voice came from the mansion to stop the proceedings.

”Cut the crap! Pang Ze, get on with it,” Xu Zhiqiang ordered impatiently.

”Yes, Young Master!” The man named Pang Ze gripped his dagger and charged toward Ye Xiu.

The latter prepared to crush him.

”Stop!”

Just then, a thunderous shout echoed through the yard. Jiao Fuping rushed in at full speed and blocked Pang Ze.

At that moment, in a bedroom on the third floor of the mansion, Xu Zengshan, Long Xiaoyun, and Du Long were watching from a floor-to-ceiling window. Their original plan was to use Xu Zhiqiang to force Ye Liangchen into using Nangong Lie’s unique Traveling Dragon Sword Technique, which would confirm whether he was Nangong Lie’s disciple.

Seeing Jiao Fuping burst onto the scene, the three were momentarily startled but didn’t intervene. Letting Jiao Fuping test Ye Liangchen was an even better outcome.

”Jiao Fuping...” Upon seeing him, Xu Zhiqiang became enraged, his expression twisting fiercely. ”You used me as a pawn, insulted me, and even injured me! If I don’t kill you today, then my name isn’t Xu Zhiqiang!”

”Master Xu, we can settle our score later. First, allow me to kill Ye Liangchen,” Jiao Fuping said gravely. Without waiting for a reply, he suddenly turned and lunged at Ye Xiu.
