Chapter 413: Chapter 413 I Told You You’d Regret It

At these words, the old practitioners of ancient medicine and the reporters grew skeptical of Qin Ming’s claims, especially since Jiao Fuping had witnesses.

Huang Jiancheng and the patrol officers, however, didn’t believe a word of Jiao Fuping’s statements; they only trusted Ye Xiu. Song Yushu, Song Mingde, and Song Kaiwen sneered at Jiao Fuping’s words. Of course the doctors and nurses from Wankang Wellness Hall would testify for him; they were all tarred with the same brush.

”Director Jiao, even if Mr. Qin’s words require verification, the fact that you abandoned a dying patient is true, isn’t it?” Song Yushu asked.

You shut up... Jiao Fp cursed inwardly, but on the surface, he slapped his forehead and said awkwardly, ”Ah, my fault, my fault. I was just so angry at the Song Family’s actions that I neglected the patient. It was truly a dereliction of my duty as a doctor. My mistake, my mistake. I’ll go to the operating room right now and do everything I can to cure Wang Cuilan...”

With that, he hurried toward the operating room. No one stopped him; the patient was of the utmost importance, after all.

However, before Jiao Fuping could reach the operating room door, a radiant and vigorous Wang Cuilan walked out.

”Wang... Wang Cuilan?” Jiao Fuping stared, dumbfounded. This was not the same seventy-year-old woman who had been at death’s door, gasping for breath. Not only did she look completely free of illness, but she was also full of vigor and even seemed several years younger.

Song Yushu, Song Mingde, Song Kaiwen, and the old practitioners of ancient medicine were all utterly shocked as well. They had personally witnessed Wang Cuilan’s near-death state and had reviewed her case file. How could she have changed so dramatically in less than an hour?

”Mom! Haha, Mom, you... you’re alright?” Qin Ming ran over and excitedly grabbed Wang Cuilan’s hand.

”My good child, you’ve suffered so much to get me treatment.” Wang Cuilan touched Qin Ming’s scruffy face, her eyes brimming with heartfelt tears.

”It was no hardship at all. As long as you’re cured, your son can bear anything,” Qin Ming cried as he hugged his old mother.

Watching this scene, the reporters thought to themselves that this didn’t match Jiao Fuping’s story at all. He had claimed Qin Ming was unwilling to pay for his mother’s surgery, risking her life for 100,000. But Qin Ming was clearly a very filial son; his tears and raw emotion couldn’t be faked.

”Wang Cuilan, who cured you?” Jiao Fuping asked in shock. His medical expertise told him that Wang Cuilan hadn’t undergone surgery. But how could such a complex condition be cured without an operation?

”I did!” At that moment, Ye Xiu, wearing a surgical mask, emerged from the operating room. Instantly, everyone’s gaze fell upon him.

”You... how did you do it?” Jiao Fuping demanded, completely shocked. ”Wang Cuilan’s condition was extremely complicated. Surgery was the only way to save her, and even then, very few people in the world could perform such a complex operation. How did you manage to cure her without it?”

It wasn’t just him; Song Yushu, Song Mingde, Song Kaiwen, and the old practitioners of ancient medicine were also extremely curious. Song Yushu and Song Mingde knew that Ye Xiu had used 360 silver needles, but they couldn’t comprehend how acupuncture could resolve such a severe condition in such a short amount of time.

Qin Ming and the patrol officers, on the other hand, were not surprised at all. For the Medicine King Xuanse, performing such miracles was just business as usual.

”You want to know?” Ye Xiu asked.

”Yes!” Jiao Fuping nodded.

”The method I used is too complicated. You wouldn’t understand,” Ye Xiu said.

The statement wasn’t particularly damaging, but it was incredibly insulting. If the reporters and patrol officers hadn’t been present, Jiao Fuping would have flown into a rage. But he could also tell that Ye Xiu had no intention of explaining, so he decided to drop the matter.

”Ladies and gentlemen of the press!” Ye Xiu looked at the reporters and said, ”Everyone has seen that Mingde Ancient Medical Hall took on Wang Cuilan as a patient because we were confident we could cure her. Meanwhile, Jiao Fuping, who clearly could have cured Wang Cuilan, not only refused to act but also planned to use this opportunity to destroy the Song Family and the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall. You all have eyes and brains. I don’t need to spell it out. You can all see the trickery involved, can’t you?”

The reporters exchanged thoughtful looks. They might not be wealthy, but they were worldly and experienced. It took only a moment’s thought to see through Jiao Fuping’s shallow and despicable attempt at a frame-up.

”Alright, all unrelated personnel should disperse,” Ye Xiu announced. ”There are many patients waiting outside, so don’t linger here and disrupt their treatment.”

The reporters and patrol officers immediately left.

Once they were far away, Jiao Fuping glared at Ye Xiu and demanded, ”Kid, who the hell are you?”

”It’s me!” Ye Xiu said with a smile, taking off his face mask.

”It’s you...” Jiao Fuping’s eyes widened in fury. With Ye Xiu having cured Wang Cuilan, the two million surgery fee that Qin Ming had raised was now out of his reach. Because of Ye Xiu, his plan to annihilate the Song Family and Mingde Ancient Medical Hall had failed. Worse, he was now saddled with the ugly reputation of abandoning a dying patient. If only... if only he had accepted Ye Xiu yesterday, none of this would have happened.

”I told you you’d regret it. So? Do you?” Ye Xiu asked playfully.

PFFT!

Jiao Fuping was so angry he nearly spat blood. He did regret it, but he couldn’t possibly admit it. Pointing a trembling finger at Ye Xiu, he snarled, ”Kid, you just wait. I’ll make you understand the consequences of crossing Jiao Fuping! Hmph!”

With that, he stormed off in a huff.

Seeing this, Song Yushu, Song Mingde, and Song Kaiwen broke into smiles. Mingde Health Hall and Wankang Wellness Hall had been rivals for years, but this was their first-ever complete victory.

The old practitioners of ancient medicine felt awkward. They had just witnessed ’Ye Liangchen,’ a mere driver, display medical skills so profound they seemed otherworldly. He might actually be able to save Mingde Ancient Medical Hall and destroy Wankang Wellness Hall. And they had not only just resigned but had also twisted the knife in Song Mingde on their way out.

”Come, son,” Wang Cuilan said, pulling Qin Ming over. ”Let’s thank our benefactor. We should kneel to him!”

”Yes, yes!” Qin Ming nodded repeatedly.

Just as the mother and son were about to kneel, Ye Xiu stopped them. This was Qin Qing’s biological father and grandmother; he couldn’t possibly accept their kneeling.

”Elder Song, could you please arrange a room for them and prepare some nutritious food?” Ye Xiu said to Song Mingde. ”The patient is very weak and is in urgent need of nourishment.”

”Of course!” Song Mingde agreed readily and instructed Song Kaiwen, ”Go quickly.”

Song Kaiwen hurried to support Wang Cuilan. ”Please, ma’am, this way...”
