Medical and Martial God

Chapter 411: Chapter 411 Scandal

Qin Ming, Song Yushu, and Song Mingde gnashed their teeth in anger. Song Mingde, in particular, was trembling with rage. Jiao Fuping’s distortion of the facts and his slander of the Song Family and the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall were simply shameless!

He portrayed Qin Ming as an unfilial son who, to get 100,000 yuan in compensation, was willing to skimp on his mother’s surgery fees and disregard her life. He painted the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall as an unscrupulous institution that harmed patients with its inferior medical skills.

How could such a shameless and despicable person exist in this world!

Although Ye Xiu was in the operating room, his hearing was exceptionally sharp, and he heard every word Jiao Fuping said outside. He finally understood why the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall had been so thoroughly crushed by the Wankang Wellness Hall—their opponent was utterly dishonorable and had no bottom line.

At that moment, Ye Xiu heard Qin Ming’s enraged voice. ”Director Jiao, a mouth is for talking, but you’re just spewing shit. Did you ask your ass for its opinion before you opened it?”

Wow, just as you’d expect from a Ph.D. Even his insults are so cultured... Ye Xiu mentally gave his father-in-law 999 thumbs-ups.

”Mr. Qin, there’s no need to fly into a rage from humiliation. I am merely stating the facts,” Jiao Fuping said with a smile, not the least bit angry. ”You were willing to sell out your own mother’s life for money. Are you afraid of others finding out? If you didn’t want anyone to know, you shouldn’t have done it in the first place.”

”You...” Qin Ming was furious. Although he believed Ye Xiu could cure his mother and put Jiao Fuping in his place, Jiao Fuping’s words were infuriating. However, he had no evidence to prove Jiao Fuping was lying unless he revealed Ye Xiu’s involvement, but Ye Xiu had forbidden him from disclosing his identity.

”Lost for words, aren’t you?” Seeing Qin Ming fall silent, Jiao Fuping’s smile grew wider. He turned to the reporters’ cameras and said, ”The thinking of many people in society today is unhealthy. I hope you will record this matter concerning Qin Ming and the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall to serve as a warning to the entire nation.”

The reporters immediately turned their cameras to Qin Ming, Song Mingde, and Song Yushu. To the uninformed press, Jiao Fuping’s confident confrontation with Qin Ming made his words seem more credible. Moreover, Jiao Fuping had an excellent reputation in the medical community of Hexia Road, so his words carried a certain authority. They believed he wouldn’t risk his name and career just to frame Qin Ming and the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall. When Qin Ming offered only a vulgar retort before falling silent, it seemed to confirm he was simply lashing out from humiliation, unable to refute the claims. All of this led the reporters to believe Jiao Fuping’s words without a doubt.

Though on the verge of exploding with rage, Song Mingde managed to ask calmly, ”Jiao Fuping, when you speak in front of reporters, you must provide evidence. What proof do you have for your claims?”

”May I ask you, Elder Song, what evidence do you have to prove that I am framing you?” Jiao Fuping turned the tables, throwing the question back at Song Mingde, who was left speechless.

”You present your evidence first!” Song Yushu interjected, seeing her grandfather falter.

”What I, Jiao Fuping, say is the evidence!” Jiao Fuping declared brazenly. ”I am the foremost Divine Doctor in Han Jin City and all of Hexia Road. Even the medical skills of the Xuanse Medicine King, Ye Xiu, might not be superior to mine. Do you really think I would risk my own reputation to slander and frame you?”

This was a brilliant move, essentially placing him in an invincible position. Even if the matter blew up and became known throughout the country, no one would believe Jiao Fuping would stake his reputation on a lie just to frame someone.

”My grandfather is a senior figure in the medical field. Countless people in Han Jin City, the entire Hexia Road, and numerous doctors nationwide know his medical ethics and character. My grandfather can also stake his reputation on the fact that you are framing us,” Song Yushu retorted, not backing down.

This left the reporters uncertain. Jiao Fuping’s medical skills were high and his reputation was stellar, but Song Mingde had practiced medicine for decades and had a good image within the industry and among the public. Both sides were staking their reputations on their word.

Who the hell is telling the truth? The reporters were baffled.

”Since you put it that way, I have a question for Elder Song,” Jiao Fuping said, smiling at Song Mingde. ”Tell me, who among you—including all the doctors at the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall—has the capability and skill to successfully perform Wang Cuilan’s surgery?”

The question was a fatal blow. Song Yushu and Song Mingde were left speechless. Given the complexity of Wang Cuilan’s condition, not only were they incapable, but there were few surgeons in the entire world who could guarantee she would survive the operation.

”Elder Song, you have the highest medical skills at the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall, yet you didn’t perform the surgery on Wang Cuilan yourself. If that isn’t treating a patient’s life like a game, then what is?” Jiao Fuping pressed, seeing that Song Mingde offered no rebuttal.

”I...” Song Mingde was tongue-tied. He couldn’t possibly tell Jiao Fuping, in front of all the reporters, that the person operating on Wang Cuilan was a driver. If he said that, the Song Family, the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall, and Mingde Pharmaceuticals would be drowned in the spit of the entire nation.

”Everyone sees it, don’t you?” Jiao Fuping turned to the reporters. Though he was gloating inside, his face was a mask of righteous indignation. ”Song Mingde clearly had no confidence that Wang Cuilan would survive the surgery, yet he took her in as a patient. He didn’t operate himself but let someone else do it. This is nothing less than a blatant disregard for human life!”

This time, the reporters were completely convinced. They all aimed their cameras at Song Mingde, ready to bombard him with questions and condemn him.

Just then, Song Kaiwen arrived with the senior ancient medicine doctors.

Seeing them, Song Yushu and Song Mingde felt a wave of dread. It’s all over.

”Song Kaiwen?” Jiao Fuping was stunned. He had assumed Song Kaiwen was the one operating on Wang Cuilan. ”It wasn’t you operating on Wang Cuilan? Then who—who among you is in the operating room with her?”

Although Song Kaiwen didn’t know what was happening, he saw the grim expressions on his father’s and daughter’s faces and the crowd of reporters, so he wisely chose to ignore Jiao Fuping.

But the bald senior ancient medicine doctor spoke up. ”The person operating on Wang Cuilan is Song Yushu’s driver.”

”You...” Song Mingde, Song Kaiwen, and Song Yushu glared at the bald doctor, shocked that he would stab them in the back like this.

The reporters erupted into an uproar! Jiao Fuping was utterly bewildered!

A driver? Faced with Wang Cuilan’s incredibly complex condition, Song Mingde had actually sent a driver to operate on her?

A scandal! This is a scandal of epic proportions! After his initial shock, Jiao Fuping nearly burst out laughing. That damn Song Mingde is digging his own grave. I had only intended to use this opportunity to crush the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall, but now, I can destroy the Song Family and Mingde Pharmaceuticals as well! I can already imagine it: once this news breaks, the reputations of the Song Family and Mingde Pharmaceuticals will be in tatters in an instant.

”It was really a driver?” Overcome with glee, Jiao Fuping asked the senior doctor. He wasn’t just asking for himself; he was asking on behalf of the reporters, needing to cement the fact that a driver was performing surgery on a patient.

”That’s right. A driver, and one that Song Yushu had just hired last night,” the bald doctor stated.

The reporters’ expressions changed dramatically, while the faces of the three members of Song Yushu’s family turned ashen.

Coldly watching Jiao Fuping’s performance, Qin Ming sneered inwardly. Go on, make a scene. Keep it up. The bigger the fuss you make now, the more pathetic you’ll look when Ye Xiu walks out with my mother later.

”Your word alone isn’t enough. Are there other witnesses?” Jiao Fuping pressed for confirmation.

”I can testify.”

”So can I.”

”The person operating on Wang Cuilan was indeed a driver.”

The senior ancient medicine doctors all stepped forward to testify. Having lived for so many years, they were old and cunning. They knew exactly what a devastating impact their words would have on the Song Family and Mingde Pharmaceuticals at this moment. But they had to say it, and they had to say it in front of the reporters. Only then could they completely sever their ties with the Mingde Ancient Medical Hall.
