Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

49: Chapter 10: Super Mutation!

[Seeking Collection]_1 49: Chapter 10: Super Mutation!

[Seeking Collection]_1 Jia Yan’s consciousness quickly recovered.

He could feel himself trapped inside a solid object!

He didn’t know how much time had passed, nor did he know the current state of his body.

He couldn’t move!

The feeling was similar to undergoing a Pupa Transformation, but even more uncomfortable than that!

The object trapping him was too firm.

With the strength Jia Yan had before, it was impossible to move!

Thankfully, after his consciousness recovered, the parts of his forelegs seemed to loosen up due to his activity, ‘Ka-cha, ka-cha,’ they seemed to rustle a bit!

Jia Yan controlled his forelegs and gave them a strong shake!

The solid object, which already showed signs of breaking, now had more cracks due to the violent struggle from Jia Yan’s foreleg, but it still didn’t break!

Even though it didn’t break, Jia Yan could feel the strength in his feet, as if a long-brewing volcano was about to erupt any day now!

“Hahaha… such strong strength!”

Jia Yan felt the sensation deep down, and then, his foreleg twisted sharply again!

This time, he used his full strength!

“Break for me!”

Ka-cha, ka-cha, crack!

Crack!

The solid object wrapping his foreleg, like dried cement, instantly shattered on the ground.

The explosion sound of that shattered object was so dramatic, it spread out like snowflakes after it exploded in the air.

His foreleg was completely free!

Jia Yan was delighted in his heart, then his four long legs behind exerted force together!

Ka-cha, ka-cha, crack!

Crack!

Crack!

Amidst the debris in the sky, Jia Yan straightforwardly let his exaggerated strength take over, and began to forcefully move his whole body!

His entire body was enveloped by these cement-like solid objects, which would have been impossible to break free from in the past!

But now, Jia Yan found that he could not only break free, but he also seemed to do it easily and leisurely!

For a while, the entire space was filled with the vibrating sound of explosions.

Debris was flying everywhere, the scene was simply terrifying!

“What kind of strength is this, is this the power after the second mutation?

It’s too exaggerated!”

Jia Yan’s newborn body was finally completely exposed to the air.

After the mutation again, his body astonishingly reached a length of seven centimeters in one breath!

The angle of viewing things was completely different from before.

His entire body, from top to bottom, was filled with the power of beauty!

The whole body was dark and gleaming, that kind of blackness, even more, pure.

The exoskeleton on and below the body’s surface had also become stronger!

The small scales that used to cover the exoskeleton, have now dramatically enlarged.

Each piece was visible to the naked eye, and they densely covered the entire body!

The wing veins on both wings, which were originally covered with a few scales, were not very noticeable.

But at this moment, these scales dramatically filled all the veins and there was a tendency to spread to the entire wings!

However, these wing scales, in comparison to the large and heavy scales on the body, were more delicate, and in color, not black, but translucent milky white!

“Strength!

Life Force!”

Jia Yan felt it!

He truly felt it!

The Life Force was roaring!

Strength was boiling!

The magnitude of the second mutation was even more exaggerated than the first!

This mutation, compared to his former state, was a completely different status!

The vigorous vitality that was felt all over his body was not only the impact of powerful strength, but also the body’s greater vitality after a major leap in Life Force!

The changes in Life Force and strength made Jia Yan perceive the world differently.

“Perhaps the first mutation was not as useless as I thought.

After all, that time, my body grew dozens of times larger than a normal Chinese Anopheles Mosquito, and could even lift things like erasers that weighed twice as much as him!

But even though the strength enhancement in that mutation was also substantial, it still seemed weak in front of many creatures, so it didn’t feel that intense.

But this time….”

Jia Yan lifted one of his forelegs, which no longer seemed thin and weak like a mosquito’s leg, but truly robust!

Only such a robust long leg could support his huge body now.

The amount of strength he now possessed, Jia Yan was not quite sure how to handle.

He had a slight notion that after drinking the purple-red liquid for a second time, his body mysteriously seemed to break some kind of shackles…

Once these shackles broke, it seemed that a great and vast path lay in front of him!

And he was just standing at the start line of this path.

“Of course, this feeling might just be an illusion.” Jia Yan shook his head, casting aside these unrealistic thoughts.

He began to examine the dried fragments underneath his feet.

After looking for a while, Jia Yan suddenly realized that these things were indeed very similar to the pupal shell formed when he transformed into a pupa.

But was more solid, and completely wrapped his current body, not like a Pupa Transformation, where it formed into a round shape.

If his strength was a little bit less, he could have been completely trapped by these dry objects, and that would mean actual death!

“What in the world is that purple-red liquid?

It can’t possibly be antimicrobial peptides!” Jia Yan was a bit silent.

During his computer communication with the assassins, he had looked up antimicrobial peptides online and found that they were substances extracted from various insects and then made into medicine.

But how could ordinary antimicrobial peptides have such a strong effect on creatures, it simply was impossible.

The research and development technology of the Northeast Wild Tiger factory definitely could not reach this level!

Just relying on the culture dishes that the glasses-wearing man had placed on the table?!

If developing medicine could be done so easily, top medical scientists of the world would be crawling all around by now!

“They definitely have some secrets!

But none of that concerns me.

What I care about is whether this purple-red liquid medicine could allow me to mutate again!”

Jia Yan moved his six long legs, his massive new body, and the feeling of newfound strength making it hard for him to maintain balance.

“Huh?

I’m actually inside a soda can!”

Jia Yan looked at his ‘cave’.

Only then did he realize that he had unconsciously wandered into an empty soda can while the medicine was taking effect!

Luckily, the can was fairly dry and not claimed by any other creatures.

Honestly, it was a pretty favorable environment.

“I should get out.

Last time, the transformation only took about half a day.

But this time it obviously took longer, I just don’t know how much time exactly has passed.”

After a moment, a behemoth colored a dark reddish-brown, the male Anopheles mosquito, struggled clumsily out of the can…

“Fortunately, my body hasn’t grown too insanely.

If it were any bigger, I would have to try my strength at tearing open this can – but honestly, I don’t hold out much hope for that.

After all, it’s not even easy for humans to break open a soda can with their bare hands.”

Rome wasn’t built in a day.

At last, Jia Yan basked in the sunlight.

The blazing sun overhead indicated to Jia Yan that it wasn’t yet winter, so he must not have been hibernating for too long from the transformation.

“It probably was just two or three days, definitely no more than four days!”

Jia Yan shook his back to readjust his wings, covered with lightweight scales, perfectly engineered for aerodynamics.

Buzz!

——

A swath of delicate green grass was suddenly blown flat to the ground by gusts!

Wings flapped up and down!

Buzz, buzz, buzz!

Jia Yan’s colossal body began to slowly ascend.

The view of the ground gradually dwindled in his compound eyes…

“Though the body has grown massively and probably weighs tens of times more, the wings remain light and effortless!

Very impressive indeed!”

Jia Yan felt a raw power exploding within his body that he had never experienced before.

The blood carried oxygen from the atmosphere, converting it into energy that empowered his muscles connected to the wings and the midchest….

With a body of this size, he needed to consume a lot more oxygen, and Jia Yan had to conscientiously breathe harder in order to ensure a sufficient supply of oxygen.

Buzz, buzz, buzz——

The sound his mosquito body generated had grown much louder, almost like the sound of an old Bomber aircraft equipped with a propeller engine, roaring across the sky.

Mosquito wings differ from those of birds, and the noise enhancement absolutely took things to a new level!

Seven-centimeter grandiose mosquitoes were very rare sights in today’s world.

And that was exactly what Jia Yan was right now!

Furthermore, his body size overshadowed those of the other large and giant species of mosquitoes.

With segments of exoskeleton bulging out, the muscular strength visible made his frame look sturdy, not feeble at all.

He soared in the sky.

Gliding over the jungle!

The ground scenery swiftly passed by below him, implying that his flight speed was definitely faster than before.

Despite it being the daytime, he continued to soar!

As if he wanted to vent out all the fear and anxiety he had been bottling up since before.

Of course, he knew that there were still numerous creatures that could prey on him, but unlike earlier, he didn’t have to fear the bats at all now that he was seven centimeters long.

Even birds like swallows weren’t likely to regard him as prey.

The threat to his survival was suddenly reduced a lot!

So, Jia Yan started to fly in broad daylight.

The ‘Large Creatures Field Investigation Team’ from Shanghai City was on an expedition in the jungle at that moment.

They had been trudging through forests for two days now.

In that duration, they didn’t achieve much.

Out of the five team members, only the driver was a local.

The remaining four were all faculty and students from prominent institutes in Shanghai City.

The driver was just here for the money and therefore was not impatient at all about their journey.

But the others, especially the young male student majoring in biology who seemed to be attracting mosquitoes to him like a magnet was particularly irritated being bitten viciously for two days.

“Professor, perhaps we should return.

We have been searching for two days without any findings.

I believe this lead might be false information, those country folks tricking us again.”

Finally, after tripping again he spoke up to his middle-aged professor.

“Xiao Xu, how can you be like this!

If you don’t have even this much patience, how will you develop in this academic field in the future?”

The middle-aged man, his hair starting to gray, frowned.

The other two women students with media major did not complain at all, it’s rather his own student who had started to grumble first.

What the hell is up with that!

“But, Professor …

I am so scared of mosquitoes!”

The young student with a mournful face vigorously scratched his swollen arm where a mosquito had bitten him.

Unknown to him, the professor’s eyes lit up as he heard the word “mosquito”.

“Mosquito!” He repeated his student’s words.

“Professor, what’s up with you and the …mosquito?” The young student asked quizzically.

“Mosquito, look, a giant mosquito!

There really are giant creatures here!”

The graying professor suddenly pointed towards the sky and shouted.

In the sky, a giant black mosquito gracefully flew right over their heads…
