Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

2: Chapter 2: The Decision that Affects the Fate of the Larva!【Seeking Collection】_1 2: Chapter 2: The Decision that Affects the Fate of the Larva!【Seeking Collection】_1 Jia Yan received feedback from his biological organs, sensing that this was his food.

I have to survive.

I must survive!

Even if I have to eat bacteria or something!!

Jia Yan was filled with the will to survive, he struggled to move his body, swimming towards more plankton and bacteria.

Suddenly, a lightning-fast object streaked past his eyes!

Jia Yan was startled.

“Hmm, that is the Aquatic Chafer, the larva of a dragonfly, I must not go and provoke it!”

Jia Yan watched as the ferocious-shaped monster zoomed by a few dozen centimeters away from him, catching another larvae with its unique double-hooked mandible and then chewing it in its mouth.

Being well-versed in the Insecta class, he knew this monster was the Aquatic Chafer.

Its adult form would evolve into a dragonfly.

Until then, this Aquatic Chafer reigned as the king of the water, even hunting small fish offspring!

Perhaps in the eyes of humans, the small Aquatic Chafer is merely an insect posing no threat.

However, in Jia Yan’s current view, it was like a monstrous giant.

Its powerful mandibles and double hooks could easily catch him, then eat him alive.

“There are quite a lot of aquatic chafers!

Even a lot of ostracods, this little pond is practically an insect gathering spot!” After careful observation, Jia Yan found that the ecosystem of the pond was not bad.

Despite being filthy and disorganized, it has a complete ecological system.

“There are many creatures that can threaten me, even some species I haven’t seen yet.”

He decided to be extra careful, as he couldn’t guarantee another chance at rebirth.

Based on his brief observation of the scenery on the water’s surface, he felt that the time period of his rebirth was not far from the time of his death.

At least it wouldn’t be as dramatic as dying in 2015 and then waking up in 2215.

The gap was at most a few years, it might even be the same year he died!

That would be the best time frame for revenge.

Given the background of the murderer’s family, they might not be convicted for the murder he instigated.

Powerful families always have various ways of evading justice.

If that’s the case, Jia Yan wouldn’t want to see Yu Yuan alive and enjoying the good life for many years.

The closer the year, the better.

He would become a mosquito, and let Yu Yuan die in his sleep from an unknown virus!

Ending Yu Yuan’s happy time might indirectly save some people.

Of course, a tiny mosquito attempting to achieve this task would have to start struggling during the larval stage!

What’s that saying again?

Those who do not work hard when they are young will be in regret when they’re old, right?

In the pond, a newly born tiny larva made a decision that would affect the fate of its life!

Even if his life was truly just half a month long, he still wanted to fulfil his desire for revenge within this short lifespan!

To achieve this desire, he had to work hard, harder and harder!

The lifespan of male mosquitoes is very short, and their larval stage, that is, the larva process, lasts between ten to fifteen days.

“The life of a male mosquito indeed is very short, but the main reason is that they pass away after mating.

If I don’t do that, my lifespan can be significantly extended!”

Jia Yan, possessing a human soul, wouldn’t care about mating with a female mosquito…

cough cough, you get it right.

If he didn’t do so, he could live for a month or two.

Although this life duration is still short for humans, it’s still better than the less than a month lifespan of an average male mosquito, right?

Of course, this isn’t absolute.

There are many factors that influence the lifespan of a male mosquito.

To prevent these factors, Jia Yan decided to imitate the female mosquitoes and supplement more nutrients.

This should also have a significant impact on the lifespan of an insect.

Jia Yan twisted his body in the pond, adapting to the current method of activity.

The pond’s sewage was muddy, Jia Yan searched here and there for a relatively clean place, deciding to make it his temporary home.

“Larva have many sources of food.

Even if I only choose the more nutritious ones, I don’t have to worry about food issues.

The only danger are the predators.”

Jia Yan encountered two aquatic chafers while looking for a new home.

These chafers were lying there waiting for prey, and he skirted around them as soon as he saw them from afar.

Typical larvae couldn’t possibly have human’s crisis awareness.

On this front, Jia Yan surpassed normal larvae by more than a mile!

“The so-called nutritious substances should be objects rich in protein.

But among the items that larvae eat, which ones are nutritious?”

Jia Yan decided to try eating everything.

Being a larva with a human soul, he could try a lot of things and then decide what to eat.

After trying a few times, he found that his organic organs reacted positively to a grayish-white organic substance.

As Jia Yan absorbed this organic substance into his mouthparts, there was an immediate feeling of satisfaction, and his body soon experienced a very comfortable feeling.

“Let it be this, hoping I haven’t chosen wrong.”

Jia Yan chose this grayish-white organic matter as his food.

He began to eat nonstop!

To store nutrients, even if he was full, he forced himself.

Otherwise, what difference would he have with ordinary larva?

While eating, he was consciously exercising his body.

That tiny frame was stretching and contracting continuously, not resting for a moment.

It was only when he was exhausted, and the biological sensations told him he couldn’t continue, he controlled his body to float in water and take a break.

Of course, during this period, Jia Yan was constantly observing his surroundings, trying to stay away from those terrifying aquatic chafers.

Jia Yan wasn’t sure if larvae needed sleep, but whenever he got tired, the human soul would emit a strong sleepy sensation.

Then he would find a hidden place, like a small space between two stones, and hide in there for a few minutes.

Larvae needed to breathe.

He would often wake up in the middle of sleep due to a suffocating sensation, and then had to float to the surface to use his proboscis for respiration.

Each time he surfaced for respiration made Jia Yan extremely nervous, because the aquatic chafer ‘near his new home’ would always take this opportunity to ambush them!

“No good, I need to practice holding my breath!”

When his rebirth time came to the second day.

Jia Yan once again witnessed the ‘neighbour’ aquatic chafer, capturing a fellow larva not too far away.

This made Jia Yan’s sense of crisis skyrocket.

He started to feel that frequent inhalation of oxygen was also a high-risk thing.

Jia Yan decided to practice extending his respiration time as much as possible!

“Oh…

I can’t hold it anymore!

No, no!

How could I be defeated by such a sensation!”

The first time he tried, Jia Yan held his breath for three extra minutes.

“Only held it for about three minutes extra, not much stronger than an ordinary larva.

Next time, I must hold it longer!”

The second time he tried, Jia Yan on the basis of the previous three minutes, managed to keep it for around one more minute.

Just like this, he was exercising to extend his breathing time and also to build the strength of this larva body.

Every few minutes, he would exhaust himself, completely weak.

Jia Yan knew that this hardship wasn’t in vain, and the reward would be beyond expectations!

That’s because each molt of the larvae was fast and every molt was a moment of growth.

And every time he molted, it was the moment for him to reap the results of his exercise!
