Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

[Please Favorite]_1 Upon seeing the light, Jia Yan, who had been lingering in the forest for two days, suddenly felt a surge of energy!

He flew over.

It was a small cluster of buildings.

They appeared to be many years old, with clear signs of war damage visible.

Each building was pockmarked with bullet holes, bearing testimony to the fierce past they had endured.

There were three buildings in total, all of them three-story buildings and lights were visible through the windows.

Upon seeing these structures, Jia Yan was momentarily stunned.

He swiftly realized, these three dilapidated ancient buildings probably are remnants from the war era several decades ago.

He knew that this border area had been occupied successively by several countries and factions.

If any one of them had left these structures in such a remote and desolate area, it wouldn’t be that surprising.

However, these structures, which should have been crumbling under the forces of nature in the deep forest, were now lit by lights, and he could faintly hear the sound of machines humming.

“This must be the factory of the Northeast Wild Tiger!

As per my guess, it also aligns perfectly with the location of a circle on the map.

It seems that the bearded assassin duo indeed has a remarkable ability to gather information, they even know the location of the buildings in such deep forests.”

Jia Yan flew towards these three buildings!

The closer he got, the more he could hear the sound of machinery.

This place was definitely a factory!

Jia Yan saw that the three buildings were surrounded by a wall.

Cameras were strategically placed pointing towards the exterior and interior, with security appearing to be very strict.

“There are three guard booths that I can see, and these cameras are practically all-seeing.

However, in such a large forest, insects of my size are abundant, even if I were to fly in front of a camera, no one would be suspicious!”

Jia Yan flew closer with confidence.

The three buildings didn’t seem as dilapidated as their exteriors suggested, at least they had undergone some repairs.

Jia Yan’s compound eyes flickered, and from outside the buildings, he could already smell a very enticing aroma.

This aroma was almost identical to the purple-red potion he had tasted before, only it was much stronger, suggesting a large quantity!

This was definitely the factory of the Northeast Wild Tiger!

Jia Yan’s blood began to boil!

After such a long search, and braving countless dangers, he had finally found the factory of the Northeast Wild Tiger.

And it seemed like the effort was not in vain as he observed the presence of the ‘antimicrobial peptides’ liquid medicine he had drunk before!

But now was not the time to celebrate!

Jia Yan suppressed his excitement; he hadn’t succeeded yet.

The key lies in how to obtain the purple-red liquid medicine from the factory!

From the outside, among these three buildings, two of them were sealed except for the one that looked like an office building.

These structures originally resembled military buildings, and with a little modification, even mosquitoes would find it difficult to infiltrate.

“Let’s gather some intel first,” Jia Yan made a decision, and then flew into the compound!

Under the clear night sky was a vast forested area.

The area was close to the Changbai Mountain Range, a typical low hill area in the north, boasting numerous jungles.

Though these forests did not match the densities of those in the south, they were still spectacular, their tall treetops blocking out the sky

And in this forest stood the three buildings that had withstood the test of time for decades!

In a place where humans were rare, the sound of machinery echoed, with workers bustling around across the premises.

Out of these three edifices, one functioned as an office and dormitory.

At that moment, a burly young man was deep in thought in one of the offices.

In front of this young man stood another young man, who was slim and wore glasses.

“Boss, should we pause production for half a month and send some people to wipe out those mutant bugs in the vicinity?” the man with glasses proposed cautiously.

“No way!” The burly young man decisively dismissed the proposal.

He rubbed his tired eyes from staying up late and said helplessly, “You know, we’re walking on thin ice here.

We absolutely cannot disrupt the production of this liquid medicine.

Any disruption will draw retaliation and covetousness from all sides.

After all, our roots are not deep enough, and we lack in networking and resources.”

The glasses-wearing young man moved his mouth but ultimately fell silent.

“The news about the worker’s death, you haven’t told anyone, have you?” the burly young man asked.

“No,” replied the glasses-wearing man, “after all, he was only bitten by a mutant bug when we took him out for treatment.

He seemed perfectly normal.

The workers certainly wouldn’t expect him to die as soon as he stepped out the door.

I’ve also told them that he just took the opportunity to take a leave of absence to visit his family and might not be returning for a week or two.”

“Good, I need you to double the output within this half a month, can you do it?”

“Double the output?” The glasses-wearing man was shocked, “It can be done, but I fear the supply from that hole might not be sufficient…”

“Don’t worry about that.

Who knows how many years this hole has existed?

Will it be insufficient just because we increase the output a bit?

You need to intensify the extraction.

As long as you double the output within half a month, that’s enough!

This is a matter of our survival, understand?!” The tall youth made a firm decision unhesitatingly.

“Well…

okay,” replied the bespectacled man somewhat hesitantly.

Just then, under the cover of night, a black mosquito quietly flew to the window of this office…

The mosquito observed the two men inside the window.

There was a glint in its compound eyes!

This mosquito was none other than Jia Yan.

He watched the two men, who were still in discussion in the middle of the night.

He instantly recognized the tall young man as the ‘Northeast Wild Tiger’ who had offered him a chance on the train, and the glasses-wearing man was the same man who later presented the key words ‘factory’ in the train corridor with the Northeast Wild Tiger’s subordinates!

In a way, both of them were benefactors to Jia Yan.

Without them, it would have been impossible for Jia Yan to mutate, nor for him to manipulate the keyboard and mouse with the body of a mosquito.

In that case, the subsequent wits’ duel with the two assassins and eventually receiving their help wouldn’t have happened.

By and large, Jia Yan was grateful to them.

But now, if they hinder his next attempt at mutation, he wouldn’t feel too bad, after all, they couldn’t possibly recognize him, and Jia Yan would have no choice but to treat them as enemies!

“Their conversation might help me, but I can’t get through this door or window.

It seems that the so-called giant mutant bug has made them very vigilant,” he thought.

Jia Yan flew around the building and found that the doors and windows were either closed or covered with screens, leaving no room for him to sneak in.

“What is that?”

On the verge of losing hope, Jia Yan spotted a creature resembling a cockroach crawling in one of the rooms.

But this ‘cockroach’ was huge, more than ten times the size of a common one!

It measured a whopping thirteen to fourteen centimeters!

Jia Yan was stunned, and before he knew it, this mutant creature approached the screen of a window and started nibbling!

Upon close inspection, it was indeed a mutant cockroach.

The mesh of the window screen was no match for the powerful gnawing of the mutant cockroach and soon yielded an opening.

The mutant cockroach waved its antennae outside and then crawled out of the window.

“An opportunity!” Jia Yan watched as the mutant cockroach left, then took advantage of the damaged screen and flew right in!

He was beginning to understand.

This trio of buildings seemed well-guarded, but they were nothing more than amateur levels of defense, not at all like the high-security laboratories.

For example, they hadn’t even considered the possibility of a mutant cockroach able to chew through the window screen.

It was clear that the situation at this factory was not as dreadful as it appeared.

“This cockroach originates from the inside of this building, meaning it probably didn’t come in from the outside, but has been living in the building all along.

It even possibly mutated here.

So, could it be possible…

there’s Purple-red Potion in this office building?”

Jia Yan was quietly thrilled.

If he didn’t have to break into the two seemingly more secure workshops, things would surely be much easier and safer!

He used his antennae to sense the scent in the air.

Mosquitoes can distinguish many smells, especially that of carbon dioxide and other myriad smells of living organisms.

Of course, Jia Yan could also clearly sense the scent that attracted him.

“The smell is faint, but it’s there!” Jia Yan focused on the smell of the Purple-red Potion, and drifted along.

Fortunately, it was late at night, so even if some surveillance cameras captured Jia Yan’s silhouette in the dark, the on-duty personnel might not notice.

Part of this building serving as an office was used as dormitories.

Jia Yan, led by the scent, arrived at a room with lights on.

The room was locked with a metal door from the outside, but the inner door was not completely shut.

Moreover, the lights were on in this room as if its occupant had stepped out for just a moment.

The smell of the potion was emanating from this room!

To be continued.
