Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

11: Chapter 11 Mosquito’s Long Journey [Seeking Collection]_1 11: Chapter 11 Mosquito’s Long Journey [Seeking Collection]_1 Jia Yan meandered through the bustling streets, flying out from the idly advancing midibus.

In the city, the danger from predators is reduced by more than 90%, so after observing a small greening tree by the roadside, he flew towards it.

Having traveled such a long way, he needed to rest a bit on the tree.

“Where to next?”

Jia Yan clung to a tree branch with his six long legs.

The sunlight was blocked by the leaves, and the relatively cool breeze made him feel quite comfortable.

His plan was to find the train station in Changtu County, and then wait for a train to Shanghai.

Of course, there might not be a direct train to Shanghai from this county town, or there might not even be any railway lines passing through here at all.

If that were the case, it would be rather troublesome.

He would then have to investigate which nearby city had a train station, and then find a ride that would get him on a train!

This would involve a significant detour and would also be a colossal waste of time.

After all, Jia Yan didn’t know for certain whether his series of actions were correct.

If he had done so much training and still only ate one type of seemingly nutritious food in the larva stage, and his lifespan remained unchanged, similar to that of a regular male Anopheles, then the end of his life would be imminent.

He had no time to waste!

Jia Yan regretted his complete lack of understanding of geography and travel.

If he had learned about these things earlier, he wouldn’t now be so clueless about this northeastern city.

But of course, it was useless to regret something that had already happened.

Hindsight was the last thing he needed!

After resting for a while.

Jia Yan fluttered his wings and found he was fully rested!

So, he spread his wings and, under the scorching summer sun, he slowly began to fly, trying to stay as close to the shady parts of the street as he could.

Mosquitoes tend to prefer cooler areas, but Jia Yan had no choice but to be a sunbathing mosquito.

“There’s a bus stop there!”

A group of passengers waited under the bus stop sign, with some women holding up parasols.

This neatly highlighted the difference between city women and the village women he saw earlier, not just in terms of temperament, but even their clothing had noticeably improved!

A mosquito buzzed as he flew, but with the ambient noise of the busy street, no one paid attention to him.

Then, the mosquito hovered at a height parallel to the bus stop sign for quite some time, as if he could understand the text on it.

“Hmm …

The final stop of this bus route 7 is Changtu West Station!

Is West Station a train station?”

Jia Yan didn’t care too much, he decided to hop on a bus first and check it out.

After waiting for about fifteen minutes, finally, a Route 7 bus arrived.

Jia Yan blended in with the crowd above their heads and buzzed into the bus.

Compared to his previous journey on the old midibus, he was now more familiar and understood human psychology better.

Even if someone noticed him, but since he flew so high and hid under seats and in crevices immediately after getting on the bus, no one would bother catching him in such a crowded space, would they?

The ride was almost a repeat of his midibus journey, except a tad bit steadier.

Jia Yan hid in the gap between the seats, waited for nearly twenty minutes, and only then did he hear the electronic announcement saying, “Changtu West Station has arrived.”

He waited a little longer until he heard the noise of the crowd getting off the bus had completely disappeared before he finally got out from the seats!

“It is a train station after all!”

The area around the train station was not yet developed, there weren’t many buildings and there were still many fields in view, it looked somewhat desolate.

But it was indeed a train station!

Jia Yan buzzed his wings and flew towards the ticket hall.

Maybe it was due to always being in the human world, he forgot to be alert.

At that moment, from behind him, a small sparrow flew over with incredible agility.

By the time Jia Yan noticed something approaching, the sparrow’s beak was already close to his tail!

Opening its mouth, it was about to bite down!

“Not good!” Jia Yan was shocked.

His body instinctively reacted in that instant!

He beat his wings with all his might and darted to the side!

Crack!

He could hear the sound of the sparrow’s beak clenching, but thankfully, he didn’t feel the pain of being bitten!

Escape!

Jia Yan was scared out of his wits, bursting out 150% of his powerful body’s speed, aiming for the nearby train station’s ticket hall!

Perhaps considering the humans on the ground, the little sparrow did make a turn after chasing Jia Yan for a few meters.

It quickly flew away over train station’s ticket hall, soaring towards the high sky…

“That was close, I was almost eaten!”

Jia Yan flew into the ticket hall, his mind swirling from the chaotic scene.

The harsh reality made him realize that despite being a mosquito with human intelligence and greater strength than ordinary male Anopheles mosquitoes, he remained a weak creature in nature, prey to many predators!

Fortunately, the danger had passed, and he had arrived at the ticket hall!

“It’s quite bustling!” Jia Yan studied the scene inside the hall, considerably different from the desolation outside.

There were people buying tickets and waiting for their rides, in total, at least a hundred people were lingering in this ticket hall.

Security guards were patrolling around, which suggested the safety of the place was pretty decent.

“Shanghu…

Shanghu…” Jia Yan flew to an information poster for stops in the ticket hall, slowly browsing the details.

“Sure enough!

From Yongchun to Shanghu Hongqiao, arriving at Changtu West Station at around 11:20 in the morning, arriving in Shanghu at around 10:10 in the evening.

2194 kilometers in just about 10 hours and 50 minutes, such a fast train indeed!”

“Hmm…ticket prices, first-class seating is 1651?

The cheapest, third-class seating is still 874!

The price you pay for speed!

The first-class fare is almost equivalent to my college living expenses for two months.”

“But for me now…what is a train ticket?

Can I eat it?”

Jia Yan didn’t need to buy a ticket, and he felt quite triumphant about saving over 1600 on the fare.

The timing was also just right, in just over two hours the train would arrive.

Jia Yan checked the time on the display screen and flapped his wings.

He quietly perched on the high wall of the hall, waiting for the arrival of the train.

The blood he consumed last night might last for a while, but by the time the train arrived in Shanghu, he was not sure if the blood he had consumed the night before would be enough to maintain his energy.

After all, his larger size and active movements made his energy consumption much higher than the average Anopheles mosquito, and he guessed that the blood wouldn’t last long.

When it’s time, he’d have to search for food again, of course, preferably blood!

Several hours later, the hall was full of hustle and bustle, with loads of passengers coming and going.

“Rapid train G1235 from Yongchun to Shanghu Hongqiao is about to arrive at the station, please be ready to get on,” The station announcement awakened Jia Yan, who was practically in a half-asleep state on the wall!

Then this enormous Anopheles mosquito, at a height less noticed by people, quietly flew towards the check-in gate on the second floor.

“Please don’t rush, take out your tickets and line up to check-in,” called the female check-in officer in uniform, trying to maintain order among the somewhat chaotic passengers!

But Jia Yan at a height of two people, flew directly over her head, completely ignoring the check-in officer!

He then perched on the frame of the entrance door, not flying into the platform!

Be aware that the wild wind brought by a train entering the station is quite strong.

Even people wouldn’t be able to stand firmly, his tiny size would probably be blown away by a hundred meters!

Jia Yan was very grateful that he thought of this.

So he crawled at a high place, waiting for the train to arrive at the station.

Sure enough, a loud train whistle soon sounded.

The rumbling noise from far to near, the fierce wind blew the grass and trees around the track!

Clack clack clack…

The express train, with its characteristic noise, drove into the station on the track, and then solidly steadied the body that was as huge as a giant dragon!

Jia Yan, stuck on the check-in gate side, watched the outside world through the glass.

He witnessed some passengers struggling to keep their balance and couldn’t help but admire his own thoughtful mind.

“Alright, it’s time to board!” When the wind died down a bit, Jia Yan quickly spread his wings and flew towards the train cabin.

Remember, the express train only stopped at this station for a mere two minutes.

He didn’t want to miss this train due to being slow, because the next one wouldn’t arrive until the next day!

Luckily, the fierce wind outside had stopped, and nothing unexpected happened during the flight.

This black Anopheles mosquito swiftly flew into the nearest passenger carriage!

“Shanghu, I am coming back!”

The moment he flew into the carriage, Jia Yan felt an overwhelming surge of excitement.

After a month’s separation, the homebody university student who loved animal science, will finally return to the international metropolis that caused his death, but this time as an insect, onboard an express train!

I am coming back!

All hatreds, I will settle them myself!

The moment this male Anopheles mosquito, Jia Yan, flew into the express train, he couldn’t contain his surging emotions!
