Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

Not far away, an old-fashioned minibus that looks a bit run-down is parked at the intersection of the street, and the ticket-selling aunt on the bus is shouting loudly!

“That’s it!”

Jia Yan’s eyes lit up, and he controls his body, bringing himself closer to this minibus about to take off.

He had decided yesterday that he would hitch a ‘free ride’ to Shanghai!

For an ordinary mosquito, trying to get all the way from Liaoning to Shanghai, a coastal city in central China, covering a distance of more than a thousand kilometers, is pretty much impossible!

But for Jia Yan, this isn’t impossible!

It’s even simpler than for humans!

His method is to ‘hitch a ride’!

Since he is a mosquito, he doesn’t have to buy a ticket and can ride any vehicle he wants.

As long as he’s careful, he can do it.

It’s not like a conductor will say, “Mr.

Mosquito, you haven’t bought a ticket yet!” when he’s nearby, right?

Jia Yan quietly approaches the minibus.

There are already quite a few people on the bus.

They all look like honest town residents, most of them smiling.

After all, going to the county town is like visiting the city for these town folks!

“The back window is open!” Jia Yan floats around and discovers that there are no people sitting in the last row, and the window is open!

“Get in!” He quickly controls his body and flies carefully into the window.

After entering the window, he doesn’t look towards the outside right away.

Instead, he immediately dives into the gap in the seat, then uses his six feet to grip the underside of the seat tightly, hiding upside down below the seat!

According to his many years of experience as a human, this should be the safest place.

“Madam San, how come you have time to go to the city today?

Are you going to see your grandson again?”

“Yes, yes, it’s been almost a month since I saw my grandson.

I miss him terribly.”

“Old big brother, you’re also going to the city?

Come sit here, let’s have a good chat!”

“Hey, hey, Xiao Min, I’m going to the county town in a while.

How about I pick you up from your school when you finish?”

There are a lot of people on the bus, and it’s noisy.

Jia Yan, hiding in the bus, is almost exhausted by the noisy sounds!

Male mosquitoes have more sensitive ears than females.

They have two long ‘antennae’ on their heads, which act like human ears.

The sound is picked up by these two sensitive antennae by vibrating the air, and the mosquito can hear the sound.

And now, the noisy voices of a bunch of humans close by are vibrating Jia Yan’s antennae, making them sway, which is bothersome for a mosquito!

However, during this time, Jia Yan also gathered a lot of information.

For example, this place called Changtu County, where he is, is located near the provincial capital in Liaoning.

This place is very close to the similarly ‘socialist’ country across the Yalu River.

Moreover, it has some special products, which make the trade rather good, causing the villagers here to live quite decent lives.

Listening to these people babbling about things like, ‘Old Wang Mazi from Lao Si Ping town married a beautiful Korean girl without spending a money, so jealous’.

Also, the economy in Changtu County is getting better, is it worth considering buying a house in the county town.

Last year the heating pipe was broken and was freezing in the middle of the night.

The richly exotic content of the conversation made Jia Yan listen with interest.

Soon, Jia Yan discovered that two girlies with slender beautiful legs also sat on the back seat where he was hiding.

These two hot chicks; he can’t see their faces, but he can see them wearing hot shorts, exposing their fair and slender legs.

“Wow, Nini, look, I’ve gained two more fans!”

“Great!

It must be because the underwear photos you uploaded yesterday are so beautiful.

Next time I’ll upload some too!

If I show a bit more skin, I’m sure I’ll surpass you!”

Two vain girls!

Just by listening to these two sentences, Jia Yan has determined the characteristics of the two girls.

At the same time, he decides to filter out the following conversation from these two silly birds, because he is worried that it will lower his IQ along with theirs!

Soon, ten minutes passed amidst the noise.

Although this minibus looks pretty old, it’s still rather punctual.

When it’s time, the minibus slowly starts moving amidst the unmistakable roar of the engine!

“Goodbye, my hometown!

Farewell, my cozy nest.”

Jia Yan’s feeling a little bit sentimental for no particular reason.

Now, the vehicle starts to shake violently!

“Damn it!

It’s shaking so much!” Jia Yan, hanging upside down below the seat, suddenly loses his calm!

As the vehicle shakes, he finds he can barely hold onto the seat with his six legs!

Thanks to the rigorous training Jiay Yan did during the larval stage, his current mosquito body has grown pretty strong.

With his six legs clinging tightly to the seat, he managed not to fall.

The vehicle shaking continues for more than twenty minutes, then it seems like it got on a main road.

The shaking significantly subsides, giving Jia Yan, who’s had a tough time dealing with it, a chance to catch a breath.

“Probably have reached a provincial or national highway.” He lets out a sigh of relief.

He does not want to deal with the small rural road from before ever again.

Not to mention a mosquito; even a person sitting on the seat could possibly be tipped over!

Jia Yan guesses that the passengers on the bus have also had a hard time being jolted around so much.

The lively chatting scene from before has disappeared, with only the occasional conversation here and there.

Taking advantage of people likely being tired at this time, he quietly moves his body.

The two girls in the seat, just as Jia Yan had surmised, were clearly just seventeen or eighteen but both had slightly golden-dyed hair.

To be honest, even though they couldn’t be called ugly, they couldn’t hide their air of unrefinement.

Bowing their heads, engrossed in their cellphones, did they really claim to have ‘fans’?

Jia Yan stated with a smug grin, either it’s a joke or these men just want to do some things that they would enjoy with the girls!

But this matter was none of his business.

Jia Yan peeked out to take a look at the scenery outside the window.

The sight outside indeed was specific to the Great Northeastern Plains!

The horizon was endless, in fact, it was just a line!

Of course, this scenery, in the eyes of a mosquito with extremely poor vision, was nothing more than a blurry light and shadow effect.

Despite this, Jia Yan, who had already gotten used to such vision, had summarized from his experience, about how to look at distant objects differently.

For example, those grey things were supposedly the distant mountains!

Of course, there aren’t many mountains in this flat region, and the occasional few ones aren’t very high either.

Anyway, the scenery outside the window was very refreshing to the eye.

Jia Yan’s hometown was in the mountainous region of Jiangnan, one could say he had never seen a uniform spectacle like this one before, everything here stirred up thrilling emotions within him!

It was a pity that this vision was really bad, but if someday his vision recovers and he again gets to see these beautiful sights, certainly it would be more enjoyable.

Jia Yan sighed in his heart.

In the past, he had thought about touring the whole country, but now, this dream might be easier to achieve, with him being a mosquito, who knows.

Thinking about this, becoming a mosquito might not entirely be a bad thing either.

Throughout the rest of the journey, there were times when Jia Yan risked peeking outside the window a lot more often, despite knowing the danger, just to catch a glimpse of the beguiling scenery.

During this period he also pondered about some issues.

He found life to be quite marvelous, just a month ago he was still in a Seaside City, a thousand kilometers away, leading a peaceful student life.

And now, he had transformed into a male mosquito, enduring all kinds of stormy weather and precarious situations, from initially resisting the bug form, to now accepting his fate completely.

Why did he reincarnate, and why he reincarnated into a larva.

Jia Yan felt that, he might never understand this point even after his death.

The mysticism of life, indeed it’s quite profound.

Therefore, it’s better to view some things with an open mind.

When you have food to eat, don’t lament about other things, eat gratefully!

When there are beautiful scenic views, do not neglect them, you should appreciate the beautiful marvels of mother nature, and then, you’ll realize life is even more beautiful…

Jia Yan was struck with many epiphanies.

As for why he knew that he was a college student a month earlier?

Why is it not something from a year ago or even several years ago?

The reason was quite simple, from the conversations of others, Jia Yan already knew the current specific time.

He found out that the day when he was reborn as a larva, was exactly the same day he died.

That is to say, it is still that 2015 in which he died, and even less than a month had passed since then.

A month ago, he was a perfectly fine college boy.

But now, after a month, not only did he arrive at this vastly different Liaoning city, but even his body transformed into the non-human entity of a male mosquito…

“If there’s someone who is distressed that life is not beautiful, then they should come and look at me, and I guarantee that they’ll regain their confidence!

Haha…” Jia Yan mocked himself and laughed in his heart.

While contemplating, he also stole gazes towards the outside view.

Of course, it was very dangerous, he was in high risk of getting spotted by the passengers.

But luckily, no such danger materialized!

The rural folk inside the bus, showed no interest in the scenery of their hometown, after sitting for long on the bus, all began to feel drowsy.

Almost 30 minutes later, more houses began to appear in the view that Jia Yan was sneaking glimpses at.

Building after building started to appear in his sight!

“Dear passengers, we have arrived at Changtu County.

Those who wish to get off, please get ready!” The ticket seller’s loud voice shouted from the bus door.

The county town was here!

Jia Yan also recovered from his trance.

Throughout the journey, he could say he went through some emotional transformation.

The stress of the past days as a larva was so overwhelming that he hadn’t had the chance to adjust his mindset till today.

But after this brief tranquil journey, he finally sorted out some things in his mind, and was no longer so confused!

Of course, the basic plan of taking revenge had not changed at all!

“Alright, it’s time for me to get off, too.”

Looking at quite a few passengers preparing to get their luggage to get off the bus in front of him, Jia Yan took a quick peek, seeing the outside view now filled with bustling city streets through the window, hurriedly flew up, directly passing through the open window, and flew out…

To be continued.
