Reborn As An Interstellar Giant Mosquito

21: Chapter 21: Tracking the Assassin【Seeking Collection】_1 21: Chapter 21: Tracking the Assassin【Seeking Collection】_1 The van was inconspicuous, no one knowing that it contained two men who claimed to be assassins!

Jia Yan couldn’t yet be sure whether these two men were actual assassins.

Because, to him, these two did not carry the potent aura of the ‘addicted’ individual he had encountered on the express train!

That man seemed ordinary, with no indication that he was an assassin who could terrorize just about anyone.

But when Northeast Wild Tiger potentially threatened him, the expression on his face was something Jia Yan could clearly remember even now.

That kind of chilling, bloodthirsty expression could only belong to a heartless killer who had taken numerous lives.

However, these two before him seemed to lack that edge.

Such thoughts lingered until the bearded man at the wheel spoke.

It was only after what he saw and heard next that Jia Yan could believe that they were assassins!

“Xiao Yao, when I was descending from the tree earlier, my gun got scratched.

Could you check it for me and see if any parts were displaced?” said the bearded man.

“Told you to be careful, yet you are careless.

It’s going to be hard to find replacement parts within Huaxia if it’s broken.” The bespectacled young man reluctantly put down his computer and opened a slender package at his feet!

Inside the package was a wooden box.

When the young man opened the box, Jia Yan, who was peeking from behind, froze at what he saw!

Inside that box was indeed a slender firearm!

“It’s fine.” The young man glanced at it briefly before nonchalantly closing the box.

“Good, it’s fine.

By the way, Xiao Yao, you’re not using your computer right now, are you?

Log into QQ for me.

I was chatting with a gorgeous woman yesterday.

Check to see if she replied to my message.” The bearded man driving the van asked again.

“You’re so needy!” The bespectacled young man shook his head helplessly, then closed the software he was operating on his computer and double-clicked on the penguin icon on the desktop.

“What’s your account password?” the young man asked.

“2763927837, password xkjw1888.”

“Logged in, no new messages.

Look at yourself in the mirror!

No way she’d be interested in you.” The young man closed QQ with a single hand swipe.

“What do you mean by ‘no way she’d be interested in me’?

Kid, do you know that I have over ten lovers?

Didn’t I just break up with a girl in Shanghai City three months ago?

She was eighteen, a school beauty, and her family owns listed companies with several billions in fixed assets!

But her feet smelled, so I let her go!

You saw it too, remember that middle school girl in Bangkok who was giving me the eye when we were on a work trip?

You won’t believe it, but later I took her to a motel.”

“Didn’t you go back to the hotel with me that day?” The young man scoffed at the bearded man.

“Ah… I must be misremembering!” The bearded man’s face flushed.

He suddenly didn’t dare to flaunt any longer.

Jia Yan also found it amusing.

This bearded man, if it weren’t for the gun they had, he really wouldn’t believe that a man of this character could be an assassin.

Perhaps each assassin is different, and it’s not necessarily true that only people like addicted are assassins.

The guns they hold probably aren’t ordinary.

Though Jia Yan doesn’t know much about firearms, he could still roughly gauge their quality by their exterior.

The bearded man’s gun was clearly a renowned foreign firearm, and from the look of its attachments, it was likely to be a sniper rifle.

An assassin who kills with a sniper rifle surely wouldn’t be some common street thief!

The van continued smoothly along the road.

“Here’s the deal, we can strategize more tomorrow.

Let’s rest for now.

You were talking about picking up girls, right?

Why don’t we hit up a bar later.” The young man in glasses proposed to the somewhat sullen bearded man.

“Really?

You want me to…no, you want me to take you to pick up girls?

Count me in.

Let’s go as soon as possible!”

The two men drove into downtown Shanghai and parked their van in a sparsely populated alley.

The bearded man carried the weighty box in his arms and stepped out of the van, followed by the young man.

As the young man turned around, Jia Yan quietly flew up, with his six long legs gripping onto the young man’s clothes on his back.

This was how he stuck to the young man’s back!

“Let’s go, we’ll talk about it later.” The young man didn’t notice Jia Yan’s movements at all.

He was just standing behind the bearded man, seemingly casually looking around.

The bearded man held a firearm, so he needed to be vigilant from behind.

Both men casually looked around to assure no suspicious figures were present before walking towards an inconspicuous old building on the roadside.

This seemed to be where the two men were staying.

The place was a little remote, but it had nothing special about it.

However, it’s these nondescript places that make the best hiding spots!

Jia Yan had his six long legs tightly clinging to the young man’s back, and he had no intention of letting these two assassins slip away just yet.

Even if he could not do much now, at least he could find out whether they would go after Yu Yuan while dealing with his father, Yu Tao.

If they happened to take care of Yu Yuan in the process, Jia Yan would be saved a lot of effort!

After all, he was now just a tiny mosquito, even though mutations had caused him to grow to 1.5 cm, with strength and speed surpassing ordinary mosquitoes, he could not escape the fact that he was still very small…

The greatest advantage that Jia Yan had over ordinary mosquitoes, however, was his human intelligence.

One would think that a mosquito’s brain would have trouble containing human intelligence.

But in reality, the simple brain structure of a mosquito did not hinder Jia Yan at all.

He could still think and remember things just as if he were in his human form!

Perhaps this was as inexplicable as his reincarnation, to the point where it could not be explained by science.

The two men entered the third floor of the building, which was built quite dark, with the hallway light blocked off by neighboring buildings that it needed lights on even during the day.

The two men entered a normal-looking rented room, where the bearded man, upon entering, pulled down a hidden pin from the top of the door.

The pin originally served as a handle, but when pulled, a small hidden compartment would open at the top.

The bearded man placed the box containing the sniper rifle into the compartment and then restored everything back to how it was.

“Are we really taking the night off?

Even though Yu Tao is abroad now, it would help our operations the day after tomorrow to get to know his family better.” The bearded man said to the bespectacled young man.

The young man was opening the refrigerator.

Little did he know, as he opened the fridge door, a tiny mosquito flew up from behind him, and in the cover of darkness, hid behind the door.

The young man pulled out a chilled cola, chugged a big gulp and said, “It’s not that I don’t want to do it, but Yu’s eldest son is hosting a private party tonight.

I think there will be a lot of people moving around tonight, so it’s not a good idea for us to gather information.”

“Isn’t this the best time to act?

Why are you saying otherwise?”

“Are you stupid?

Events like these are suitable for assassination because the target is present.

Since Yu Tao is not there, we would only increase our risk of exposure.”

“You make a good point!

What a shame this party is happening and Yu Tao is not there, otherwise…

We could have put the ‘CHr-379’ injection fluid we brought to good use.” The bearded man chuckled.

“As if Yu Tao would give you that opportunity!” The young man in glasses shook his head reluctantly, “Haven’t you noticed that he has been extremely careful with his security these past few days?

I suspect someone has leaked our assassination plan to him.”

“Impossible!

Could it be someone in the organization?

Or maybe it’s the client!” The bearded man frowned.

An organization?

These two assassins were part of one?

This is just like those novels about assassin organizations…

Could such organizations really exist in the real world…

Jia Yan, hiding behind the door, listened to their conversation intently, not missing a single word.

He had a faint hunch that their conversation from the moment he boarded the van to now, was all useful to him.

“Whether it’s the organization or the client, or even if Yu Tao himself is suspicious, it’s none of our business.

We accepted the task from the organization and we must complete it, otherwise, the punishment and breach penalty are severe.” After a big gulp of cola, the young man with glasses unleashed a long series of burps…

After belching, the young man showed a brief smile.

“But even if we don’t go tonight, I reckon the party will be lively.

When I spoke to an informant this afternoon, I heard a girl surnamed Jia was planning to create havoc at the Yu family.

But then again, what does this have to do with us.”

To be continued.
