Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4948  Claps Of Thunder

”Yes, many thanks for upholding your words,” Lady Thunderwraith cupped her hands again sincerely, ”I have practiced it and successfully condensed my truesoul. This way, I wonʼt face any impediments to my path to the Divine Exalt Stage.”

A great tone of relief could be heard in her voice, considering that she didnʼt need to hunt her next incarnation and refine the truesoul anymore.

”Thatʼs true…”

Davis knew Lady Thunderwraith possessed a Peak-Level Exalt Grade Treasure that would allow her to produce a second-level Godskull. She would become a great force for the Davis Family if she continues to remain loyal. Only, she had just entered the Empyrean Stage and would need more time to enter the Divine Exalt Stage.

He had no idea what she was going to do about the followers required for the Divine Exalt Path, but he was more interested in hearing about something else.

”Since you condensed your truesoul, why havenʼt you constructed yourself a body yet? Are you afraid of me?” Davis chuckled, his tone half-teasing, half-curious.

After all, half the reason for a ghost to cultivate to the apex is to reconstruct their bodies. Corpse cultivators already had their fleshly vessels, but they werenʼt living.

Lady Thunderwraith coldly smiled underneath her veil, ”After being a ghost for so long, I donʼt want to create a body anytime soon and experience unfamiliar emotions. Naturally, I will create one before I enter the Divine Exalt Stage, but for the foreseeable future, I will remain like this.”

”I see.” Davis nodded with some understanding.

A fleshly body was really just too- distracting.

All the sensations- the majority of them for him were just being horny.

He supposed it would be great to abandon his fleshly vessel once in a while, but he couldnʼt afford to act like a real ghost.

”So what do you think of my family? Are you finding it good and think itʼs better to stay here or return to your Silent Wraith Hall in the Nine-Headed Hydra Galaxy?”

”I…”

Lady Thunderwraith was about to answer when footsteps echoed, followed by a light laughter.

”I suppose she wants to leave unless she can get rid of me.”

Zenova entered the scene, her hips swaying, followed by Yilla and Schleya as though she were a Young Mistress.

”You… vix-”

Lady Thunderwraith was going to curse, but held her ghost tongue, knowing that Zenova successfully become the thirty-second wife of the Divine Emperor of Death.

”Zenova, my love~”

Davis spread his hands, walking to her before he gave her a full, warm hug.

”…”

It made Zenovaʼs eyes go wide, her smug expression being replaced with a blank look before her cheeks turned red.

Davis sighed, ”I was deeply amazed by your idea. I have to admit that I didnʼt think of this and didnʼt want to interfere since I felt tied because Natalya got into this mess because of me. I knew I had to defend her if it went too far, but it would be blatant favoritism. However, you were ingenious and presented the obvious solution that was invisible to us, enlightening us greatly. I canʼt thank you enough for allowing us to reclaim Natalya with no ill emotions displayed from all sides.”

He uttered in a heartened and sincere tone, truly feeling admiration for her.

Zenovaʼs cheeks had gone red, but her expression didnʼt really change. She barely managed to conceal her victorious smile before she also wrapped her arms around him and enjoyed this feeling.

Davis opened his eyes and winked at Yilla and Schleya, who were speechless, causing them to smile.

However, he really meant what he said.

He felt like he was able to forget her wrongdoings a bit for helping them and putting in the effort to mingle with the harem gently, even though she was as stubborn and cunning as ever. Regardless, she was indeed listening to his words instead of formulating some malicious schemes, greatly relieving him of worries so far.

”My ingenuity, my everything, is for you, my Emperor. As long as it is something I can do, please do not hesitate to make use of me. I dare not claim that I am as devoted as sister Natalya, but I have dedicated myself to you, prepared to die for your cause.” Zenova spoke in a soft, coquettish voice, her face still leaning on his chest.

”…”

Davis felt his heart skip a beat.

He didnʼt forget this woman was also crazy in her own way. He was also starting to understand that she truly dedicated her life to him, causing him to hug her more firmly as his affection for her grew.

”…” Zenova couldnʼt hide her smile as she heard his heart skip a beat and then resound loudly.

Certainly, he was also in love with her, feeling like this couldnʼt be faked. But to Davis, who learned Blood Laws, this could be faked, only he wasnʼt faking it.

”…”

However, a certain ghost felt despair, wanting to leave.

She had heard Zenova had actually failed in charming Davis from Ellia, and he had been acting the whole time, but this… this couldnʼt be acting, right?

She felt that these two Divergents were scary and wanted to leave before one could point at her and get her erased with a wave of his hand.

After a long hug, Davis took a step back and looked at Zenova, wanting to lift her veil and see her exquisitely beautiful face.

However, he gestured to Lady Thunderwraith.

”The two of you may have had some misunderstandings before, but it is now time to reconcile. Lady Thunderwraith is a valuable ally. I hope you can understand my intent.”

”This is nothing. I can forgive all her previous insults and offenses to me as long as she swears loyalty to you in front of us, my Emperor~”

Zenova said elegantly before casting a side eye at Lady Thunderwraith, her lips curling.

Lady Thunderwraith glared at Zenova but smiled, ”Thatʼs easy. The one I hold emotions of loyalty to is none other than the Divine Emperor of Death. If you donʼt believe my words, you can cross-check with Emperor Davis since he could tell whether Iʼm lying or not.”

”Naturally, my Emperor can tell, but your sincerity is lacking.”

Zenova turned to look at her and uttered, her voice loud and authoritative, ”Kneel and swear.”

”…!”

Lady Thunderwraithʼs soul froze for a bit before she descended and knelt, cupping her hands.

”I, Thunderwraith, swear loyalty to the Divine Emperor of Death and never betray the Davis Family for as long as I live as a ghost and a human. Please accept this subordinateʼs bow.”

Lady Thunderwraith moved her hands to her forehead and bowed her head all the way to the floor.

Davis gave Zenova a good look before moving to help Lady Thunderwraith up.

”Good, good. I know you are a person whom we can trust. Naturally, you can do as you like in this sanctuary and the outside world since we arenʼt going to be restrictive, but your actions shouldnʼt flout the law and harm the Davis Family in any way, do you understand?”

”Yes, my Emperor~” Lady Thunderwraith nodded.

She had seen him face an Archon as an Immortal Emperor, save her from committing suicide because of almost being eternally kept by the Archon as a ghost shepherd, survive walking into a mountain of Archons, get back to the Upper Realm Space, survive his ridiculous tribulation against all odds, and make it back to this place where it was full of warmth.

If there was someone who could earn her trust and loyalty in this life, her mind could only think of a single person.

She raised her head and looked at the person known as Davis Loret, her gaze full of unconcealed admiration.
