Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4973  Cooked?

Davis suppressed himself and still asked, ”You made such a pill?”

”Yes, she was also together with me, and Laura always helped me see if the pills were good or not, sometimes even taking one herself and improving her cultivation. After all, the family doesnʼt just provide us with pills but also ingredients and helps us make one ourselves in order to practice alchemy. Of course, I hid this pill in my spatial ring, but she still managed to find it and swallow it… the rest… you know…”

”…” Davisʼs brows twitched.

He turned to look at Laura, ”You knew and still took it, right?”

”…” Lauraʼs cheeks turned red with shame and embarrassment before she nodded.

”Whha-”

Evan turned to look at her with an incredulous gaze, unable to believe she took it intentionally instead of accidentally.

Laura nearly had free to reign to his spatial ring, but he had still hidden it within many containers and even sealed it. Ultimately, it had just raised Lauraʼs curiosity, and in the end, when she chanced upon an aphrodisiac pill, she didnʼt want to miss the opportunity and took it.

”No wonder she says she seduced you, but you refused to believe it…” Davis nodded as he rested his elbows on the table and rubbed his face with his palms.

Evan was speechless, but he turned to look at Davis.

”Still, it wouldnʼt change our-”

”Shut up.”

”…” Both of them lowered their head again.

Davis stared at them silently for some time, almost having the urge to flip the table on them.

He paused to consolidate these thoughts before his lips moved.

”Laura, why did you want to use that chance and make a move that day? Why not wait until you two grew more and had the power to protect yourselves, even if you two were to get exiled in the end?”

Laura couldnʼt help but pout, ”Because heʼs already an adult and women from other families and powers were starting to make moves on him…”

”…”

Evan hid his face with one of his hands.

Davis used his palms to wipe his face top to bottom till his chin, his expression blank.

Their reasons were so contemporary that he couldnʼt find anything to help them.

”I grew jealous…!” Laura looked ashamed but still echoed her sentiment.

”Heʼs mine! No one can have him!”

She stood up and waved her hand, shouting at Davis as she grew explosive.

Davis raised his hand, his expression awkward, ”Alright, alright… sit down…”

He couldnʼt believe this. This girl was just too temperamental and possessive.

Still, Davis continued, ”And then… why did you think making that move would help you get him all to yourself, much less earn the approval of anyone?”

”What weʼre doing is taboo… I didnʼt think I could obtain anyoneʼs approval, so I intended to leave, but Evan made me stay… telling me he shares the same emotion as mine and wants to live with me… but before that- we should be punished by big brother as he deems fit, since he might understand our plight…”

”…”

Davis badly wanted this to be a lie, but he could find none. Why were they relying on him for this matter!?

He wanted to shout, but suppressed himself, gritting his teeth with a heavy glare.

”Ridiculous. Why would I understand? Just because I married Tia? Sheʼs not my sibling but our motherʼs sister from another mother. Sheʼs way apart from you two in terms of closeness in bloodline.”

”…” Evan and Laura eyed each other.

Davis narrowed his brows as he sensed their intent to complain.

”Speak.” He sternly said, causing Evan to shiver.

”Big brother… is it true that you…”

”True what?”

Evan clenched his teeth before he took the leap.

”There are some rumors saying that you once possessed unspeakable feelings, elder sister Clara, and she too possessed such feelings… but since it was a taboo, she decided to leave and become a Heavenʼs Warrior to pursue her path…”

”…”

Davis blinked before he stood up as his aura burst, ”Who the fuck said such a thing!?”

”Aahh!”

Evan and Laura lowered their heads in terror. Fortunately, Davisʼs cultivation was still suppressed, so they didnʼt fly off the grid.

”We donʼt know…” Evan struggled to speak, ”Itʼs just spread by some cults in the cities that worship you and Heavenʼs Warrior together, preaching that youʼre not a calamity but a savior who will lead the universe to harmony…”

”They even paired Fairy Runalise with you…!” Laura echoed.

”…!” Davis reeled back.

These cults… it seemed like he must take care of them once and for all.

Evan softly added, ”And when we asked mother causally when we were learning about bloodlines… she was silent about it…”

”Father was too… he chased us away, saying that you were not, but it was suspicious…” Laura looked down as she tried to recall.

”…”

Davis stared at them with a dumbfounded gaze before he turned around, appearing to leave.

However, his gaze directly settled on the hidden Logan.

”…”

Logan felt his heart jump over that kind of accusation.

However, his expression remained the same.

”We just didnʼt want to talk about what Clara was about to do for you that day when you were dead, but Shirley revived you. We were trying to protect Claraʼs dignity by staying quiet, but who wouldʼve thought they misunderstood.”

”…”

Davis heard his fatherʼs soul transmission before he nodded inwardly, turning to look back at his siblings.

He wanted to say it was a misunderstanding, but he didnʼt bother breaching on this topic.

”So you two assumed Clara and I were in a secretive relationship?”

”…” The two of them nodded hesitantly.

Davis coldly chuckled, ”By all rights, I shouldʼve murdered you two in cold blood for even spewing such a thing, but you wonʼt say you relied on this, right?”

”Of course not. We still wouldʼve-”

”Shut up!”

”…” Evan and Laura wanted to cry.

This was why they didnʼt want to explain. Theyʼre only going to get told to shut up.

In the distance, Logan couldnʼt help but sigh.

At first, he was worried Davis would really murder them with how he thrashed them, but fortunately, he seemed willing to listen, and then, he shuddered as he listened to them spew rumors about Clara and Davis and thought they would really die this time, as Davis cared about Clara very much, but he still forgave them.

Unexpectedly, his son cared for Laura and Evan even though he hadnʼt seen them for a long time.

He did feel Davis was very much fit to be the leader of the household.

With Heart Intent, communication became really easy for him as he didnʼt need to think twice about believing someone, no matter how sincere and true they were, but he also knew the many incidents regarding how Heart Intent users tended to go insane and berserk.

His son never showed any signs of that, and he couldnʼt be anymore proud.

Davis took a deep breath to calm himself before he waved his hand.

”Thereʼs nothing I can do for you two. Iʼll decide after letting your parents know.”

”Brother…!”

Evan and Laura went pale.

But before they could say anything, a figure appeared by their side as Davis made a peculiar gesture.

He waved his hand over his neck as though giving the signal to behead them, and when they turned to look, they saw Mother Nora appear as the ripples of a darkness-attributed formation rippled, her expression wrathful, with her eyes bloodshot.

”…!”

They were alarmed.

”Laura, you conniving little, shameless wench! How dare you!?”
