Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4985  Coincidental Encounter?

Davis used his spatial martial energy, connecting two points in space. A spatial vortex formed in front of them as the flying ship flew into a stable, smooth spatial tunnel and, almost instantly, appeared on the other side, emerging from the vortex.

”…”

Ailaʼs cheeks held a healthy blush.

She looked at Davis hurrying back home and couldnʼt help but feel her heart pound faster.

Davis opened two more spatial tunnels, reaching near the city gates.

To not alarm the city defenses, he was low-key in opening spatial tunnels and hiding their undulations as he created incredibly stable paths. Otherwise, he could travel long distances in one move.

However, just as they were about to leave the city-

”Huh?”

”Huh?”

Davis and Aila turned to look to their side. Opposite to them, a flying ship also emerged, hidden in the void and concealed. They flew so close, the proximity revealing both of them to each other.

As the two flying boats rushed past each other, the passengers on the other flying boat finally reacted.

”Little brother Davis!”

Laphria Rinmei excitedly shouted from the other side as she ran over to the railing, ”Fancy seeing you here, and Aila too. Youʼre so beautiful as always~”

Her eyes shone with great interest as it was rare to see someone who looked similar to her but appeared even more beautiful.

Davisʼs expression churned as he watched Aila also run to the other side with immense curiosity, causing him to slow down the flying boat.

”Elder sister, you also look incredibly beautiful. I wanted to ask at the banquet. Is your pink hair a bloodline-oriented feature?”

”Uhm, Iʼm not sure, but my hair is certainly related to my physique.”

Laphria Rinmei responded, ”Do you want to see? Each of my hair strands is special, allowing me to change reality to a certain degree. Even this city-wide formation was easily bypassed by me~”

”Whoa!~”

She bragged proudly, causing Aila to be full of awe and curiosity.

It was no wonder that they didnʼt manage to sense the other party. They penetrated the city-wide defensive formation without making a sound and then used the flying boatʼs concealment formation to fly, only to be suddenly intercepted by their ship coming out of the void.

Meanwhile, Davis already knew all this, but his expression was somber.

ʼWhy? Just why? Does fate really not want to even let me sleep with my wives anymore just because Iʼd break into Level Two Empyrean Stage? Like seriously…?ʼ

Davis inwardly complained.

However, he didnʼt sense anything strange that his instincts warned about, so he doubted this was orchestrated by fate. As far as he knew, fate wouldnʼt be able to control the bubbles of Divergents so well because they were anomalies in the first place. The only thing it could bring about was the destruction of bubbles to clear out these anomalies- not bring about intimacy in any kind.

His gaze moved toward Jaiyan, who greeted him with a wry nod as he stopped his flying ship.

Davis returned a wry nod.

It seemed like they both had plans to ensnare the rabbits. One look and they could tell each otherʼs thoughts and remained silent.

On the other hand, both ladies acted like their men didnʼt exist as they jumped out and held each otherʼs hands.

For a moment, both Davis and Jaiyan admired this scene.

There was no need to say the transcendental beauty of Aila. Her pink hair fell in waves while she wore a pink robe clad with a fluffy mantle that appeared like a celestial robe, making her appear like a true fairy.

On the other hand, Laphria Rinmei was a touch more mature-looking and possessed the same cheery atmosphere around her.

Her velvet robe, a rich shade of red, is soft and luxurious, complementing her vibrant pink hair that falls in loose curls around her shoulders. Her eyes were a bright blue, sparkling with joy and mischief.

They looked like long-lost sisters, with Laphria Rinmei appearing like the elder sister because she was obviously taller. They both were five feet, but Laphria Rinmei was five feet five inches tall, nearly half a head tall.

Together, they could brighten anyoneʼs mood and uplift any dredge in oneʼs heart.

And as though knowing each otherʼs thoughts, they smiled mischievously and descended.

”Ahh…”

Davis and Jaiyan appeared to be at a loss.

They smiled at each other before putting the flying boat inside their rings and also descending.

”My apologies. It seems my wife caused trouble.”

”Itʼs not a problem. There wasnʼt much I could do to show Aila around. Perhaps this is also good. A female companion who seem they share similar interests will make her day more wonderful.”

”True.” Jaiyan agreed with Davis, ”But still- Laphria was rude. She knows and still dragged away your wife.”

Davis chuckled, ”Yes, their first time also makes them wander and prolong the inevitable for fear of change and other factors. Senior brother shouldnʼt hesitate.”

”About that…”

”…?”

Davis gazed at Jaiyanʼs not-so-smug expression, which made his eyes widen.

”Congratulations.”

He cupped his hands, causing Jaiyan to dryly laugh but cup his hands, ”Thanks to you for making us realize our feelings.”

”When is the marriage? Am I invited? I donʼt recommend inviting us.”

Jaiyan laughed lightly, ”Haha, of course, youʼre invited. I need all of my fellow disciples and benefactors to attend, especially master. The marriage wouldnʼt happen without master… although, Iʼm not sure how she would take two disciples marrying, for we are like sons and daughters to her.”

”…”

Davis went silent. He was reminded of Laura and Evan, hoping they were fine. Considering their wounds were still not healed, chances are that they were still in pain. He was the one who gave the command, but felt guilty already, so he wondered how his parents were going to feel.

”Brother, I thought youʼd promise me that youʼd take care of it.”

Seeing Davis go silent, Jaiyan uttered with a dry chuckle.

”Oh- haha. My apologies, I was just thinking to myself, but of course, I will help since I was the one who made this happen indirectly. Iʼll talk to Saintess Lunaria.”

”Great! Master more or less considers your opinion and even sent us to save you. She should listen… hopefully…”

Jaiyan said in a worried yet hopeful tone.

They simply didnʼt know how Saintess Lunaria would react to their union.

At this moment, a few guards spotted them, but once they realized Aila was an Empyrean, they let her go since there wasnʼt much that they could do to Empyreans who decided to fly, even though it was banned.

From this, one could see that for Empyreans, flying above the city was just a soft ban.

Davis and Jaiyan followed at a distance, neither too close nor too far, allowing the two women to wander as they pleased.

The bustling streets of the city unfolded before them, filled with cultivators, merchants, feral beasts, and magical beasts tethered beside ornate stalls.

Aila and Laphria had already disappeared into a cluster of shops.

”Over there, over there~!”

Laphria tugged Ailaʼs hand and pulled her into a boutique adorned with silk banners and glowing runes that shimmered faintly pink. The moment they entered, a wave of delicate fragrance washed over the surroundings.

Davisʼs lips twitched.

”Fragrance Pavilion…”

Jaiyan coughed lightly, ”They… seem interested.”

Inside, rows of crystalline bottles floated mid-air, each containing different hues of liquid essence. Some emitted faint illusions of blooming flowers, while others radiated a calming aura that could even stabilize oneʼs heart demons.

Ailaʼs eyes sparkled.

”This one… smells like moonlight…”

She uncorked a small vial, and a soft silver mist drifted out, forming the illusion of a crescent moon before dispersing.

Laphria giggled, ”Thatʼs Moonveil Orchid Essence. Itʼs said to make oneʼs presence more ethereal, helping them calm and better aid in concealment. Here, try this one too.”

She grabbed another bottle without hesitation.

”Starblush Nectar Essence.”

Aila tilted her head, ”Starblush…?”

Laphria leaned closer, whispering something into her ear.

Aila froze.

Her cheeks instantly flushed deeper than before as she shot a curious glance at Davis before she hurriedly looked away and placed the bottle back.

Laphriaʼs smile grew more mischievous as she took one for herself and shot Jaiyan a cheery look.

Jaiyan coughed lightly while Davis firmly gazed at Aila, nearly having the urge to lick his lips like a predator.

She was just too cute and innocent, making him want to devour her. However, he didnʼt think she would need the Starblush Nectar Essence, considering she herself charmed everyone she came across with her cherry scent as though she was a walking perfume.

Soon, they moved on.

Davis and Jaiyan followed them.

The former opened his mouth, ”Thatʼs right- I wanted to ask. Have you all decided to stay here for a bit?”

”Yes, hope you donʼt mind our intrusion.”

”I donʼt mind. You are all free to stay as long as you like.”

”Wouldnʼt our divergence cause this place to be…” Jaiyan insinuated.

”Doesnʼt matter.” Davis shrugged confidently, ”Moreover, having Saintess Lunariaʼs disciples when the enemy attacks is more reassuring.”

”Thatʼs true.” Jaiyan shared the same confident expression.

As they talked, they trailed behind as Aila and Laphria moved through the city like two excited sisters finally given freedom to explore.
