Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4981  A Minor Problem?

Davis looked at the scene before him with a heartened gaze.

Nothing mattered to him here except how cute and happy Aila looked. It wasnʼt a lie when people of the First Haven World said this Celestial Fairy invoked the urge to protect in men, sometimes even overpowering their urge to vent. Currently, with her calming aura, he felt she mightʼve even reached the levels of Everlight when she had become a Nine-Lives Gracious Fox.

However, Aila didnʼt command any untouchable respect. Instead, she made others feel at ease and happier.

The tame Rosy Cotton Rabbits even danced around her, their cotton tails shuddering in happiness.

Davis also let himself bask in this calming aura without any resistance. It felt quite peaceful.

”I… I- will get permission from the old master and finish the paperwork soon. I presume honored patrons want to nurture these rabbits, so Iʼll also arrange the feed list for them to be given.”

”I appreciate it.” Davis uttered softly while he waved his hand.

His gaze was still on Aila, and his gesture was no different than telling the caretaker to get lost and not disturb.

For Davis, it was obvious the caretaker was contemplating whether to take off with this wealth or not. He didnʼt care. For him, he had already paid for these rabbits, and they were now Ailaʼs.

He walked towards Aila, crossing the fence, but the rabbits quickly turned alarmed and hopped away.

”Ah…”

Aila reached out her hand towards them before poutingly turning to look back at Davis.

”Look, you scared them already. How are they going to be our estateʼs maids if youʼre like this?”

”Oh? You want to turn them into maids?”

Davis appeared before her and looked at her with a teasingly smile, ”Arenʼt you afraid that Iʼll be seduced by them? You heard of their menace, right?”

Aila turned to look back.

There were only two males, and the rest were female. Obviously, the two fathers were quite obvious, and most of the females mightʼve already engaged in breeding quite a few times, but these actions donʼt necessarily result in progenies since these rabbits sold for meat were all at Immortal Emperor Stage.

It was difficult for them to conceive.

She turned to look back at Davis and cast him an amused smile, ”I doubt youʼll fall for it.”

”It depends. For example, I could tell at least six of them donʼt have any partners yet.”

”…” Aila inwardly dropped her jaw. She clenched her teeth and glared at him, ”You cannot…! Theyʼre not only our maids, but Iʼll also take these six into my manor since Iʼm in dire need of maids. Tell- who are they?”

”Eh… arenʼt you just laying a trap for me but denying me them?”

Aila pursed her lips, blinking before she looked away.

Davis chuckled.

His Ailaʼs thoughts were also really obvious.

Indeed, Aila wanted to tease Davis, but she really wasnʼt getting any point up on him.

”Do you really want them as maids?”

”Mhm~” Aila nodded, ”We already have a lot of maids as we have recruited for the past few years, but since weʼre also expanding individually into having our own mansions in a valley, peak, or other places, we need to recruit more.”

”I see.” Davis nodded lightly.

Aila didnʼt stop, raising her fingers, ”There are ladiesʼ maids, which we all should at least have one, considering we shouldnʼt expect Illumina to fill that vacuum anymore with her becoming a prime battle warrior. Then there are chambermaids, parlor maids, scullery maids, laundry maids, cooking maids, gardening maids, teaching maids, travel maids, and even bodyguard maids. However, our family doesnʼt have all these, but Iʼm thinking of filling a few of these spots. What do you think?”

She said, her voice practically echoing like a song filled with melody.

Davis couldnʼt help but laugh lightly, ”Youʼre really a spoiled lass in the Cherryweave Family, huh?”

Aila only blushed, refusing to respond.

Davis thoroughly enjoyed her reactions. They were both talking on the basis that he would cure the impairment done to their souls and their consciousness, so he wasnʼt against this, but still asked to confirm. Still, he couldnʼt stop teasing her.

”Did I take you away from your good life?”

”Noo~”

Aila walked to him and held his hand, ”Standing before you like this back then and knowing the future… I will leave them all again in a heartbeat if I were to make a decision again.”

”Aila…”

Davis couldnʼt believe this cutie would utter such sweet words.

He wanted to pull her into a kiss as it seemed like the right time, but he sensed a distasteful air in the atmosphere.

”Respected patrons! Weʼre very sorry!”

The caretaker came running towards them. However, it wasnʼt the caretaker who shouted but a blue-robed man beside him.

He also possessed flowing red hair and looked quite similar to the thirtieth son of this farm.

Davis could instantly tell that he was also a son of the Xsan Family Farm.

The two of them came forward and cupped their hands.

”Weʼre very sorry that these Rosy Cotton Rabbits cannot be sold since they are already booked for the upcoming Throne Selection Tournament of the Auros Family.”

”You are?”

”My apologies. My name is Regenn Xsan, the sixteenth son of the Xsan Family and the current manager of this farm. This caretaker here has made a terrible mistake, and I would like to take this opportunity to not only apologize but to return the Immortal Crystals and also offer a discount for your next purchase of any beast in the ranch. Please accept our sincere apologies.”

Regenn Xsan handed over two items.

One was the spatial ring, and the other was a VIP token for their farm.

Davis turned to gaze at the caretaker and found him shuddering excessively.

At the same time, he sensed malicious intentions from Regenn Xsan, who smiled deviously from bowing with a faint sweep of his Heart Intent, causing Davis to inwardly sigh.

Someone was out fishing for gains amidst danger, well aware that Aila was an Empyrean.

Nonetheless, Davis didnʼt want to disturb the peace he had today. It was really rare that he could have that when he went outside.

He took out another spatial ring and placed it on Regenn Xsanʼs palm. At the same time, he also placed the identification token that let them enter the capital without any checks.

”Thereʼs double, and Iʼll deal with the imperial family, so finish the transaction without any worry.”

”…!”

Regenn Xsanʼs expression turned shocked as he raised his head, but he quickly hid it with a wry smile.

”Esteemed guest, we cannot afford to offend the royal family- of course, weʼre greatly satisfied with this amount and can afford to pay the compensation for breaking the contract with the imperial family. We also have this identification token with us, so I suppose we share similar favors from the graceful imperial family. However-”

His eyes flashed with a hint of greed, ”Iʼm afraid that this isnʼt enough for us to carry out the ban on breeding more Rosy Cotton Rabbits.”

”…”

Davis eyed this man with an ordinary gaze.

”How much do you need?” He asked very calmly.

Regenn Xsan secretly gulped as he shot a look at the beauty beside him and knew he had struck a sucker.

Who wouldnʼt be a sucker for this celestial beauty!?

Filled with jealousy and greed, he inwardly clenched his fist and went for the strike.

”Ten times this amount at the very least. Oh, we also accept asset exchanges and trades over resources. It will be perfect if you have a rare magical beast egg for exchange.”

”…”

Davis still kept the same gaze on this man.

All this was too comical for him- not because he could kill this man in one strike, end this farm, end the guards and destroy this empire in one overbearing area of effect strike but because fate was trying to get him to kill this person and set something in motion which he likely guessed was offending Warsten Xsan and then fuel his desire to become stronger and later challenge his idol to a battle of death, which was him, the Divine Emperor of Death.

This couldnʼt get any more ridiculous in his mind.

In such a short time, fate really wove something silly for him but disastrous for these people.

However, he knew not to underestimate this silliness.

If he had to guess the result, the end would be the exposure of this celestial body, leading the Heavenʼs Warriors to descend.

Davis suddenly smiled, ”Here you go.”

He took out another spatial ring so easily, as though it was natural, that Regenn Xsan suddenly felt regret, as though feeling like he had asked too low.

Regardless, he was about to grab the spatial ring before the other party could change his mind when suddenly it was yanked away.

Davis pulled his hand back, his gaze measured.

”But my condition- make Warsten the manager of this farm and the prime successor of the Xsan Family.”

”…!?” Regenn Xsanʼs expression turned dumbfounded before it churned, ”You mean that trash!?”

”Go contact your old master and get this done.”

Davis gazed at the caretaker, ”If you succeed, ten million High-Level Immortal Crystals are waiting for you.”

”…”

The caretaker was dumbfounded for a moment before screaming, ”Yes!”

He turned around and instantly abandoned the manager, causing Regenn Xsan to shout at him furiously.

”You traitor! Stop-!”
