Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4964  Catching Up With Siblings

”At that time, I had just begun expanding my business. I founded the Rina Auction House, but I did everything from the ground up. I refused financial support from my elder sister and even declined most of the help offered by my adoptive father, Brandis Mercer. I wanted the auction house to stand on its own reputation rather than on borrowed prestige.”

Davis and a few of the siblings nodded in approval.

”Because of that, I had to personally meet clients, negotiate deals, and secure partnerships. One day, I arranged to meet a potential client at one of Lady Jaisi Alstreimʼs restaurants.”

Her lips curved slightly as she recalled the moment, ”Unfortunately, several competitors in the auction trade had already begun viewing my business as a nuisance. While I was waiting for the client, a few of them approached me. Their intentions werenʼt exactly polite. They began mocking my auction house and trying to pressure me into withdrawing from certain territories.”

Her gaze flickered toward Edward for a brief moment.

”I could have handled it eventually, but before the situation escalated… Edward happened to step in.”

Edward rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly as a few of the siblings chuckled.

”He had only come to the restaurant to dine with his wives,” Rina continued, her voice carrying a hint of amusement, ”But when he saw the commotion, he intervened without hesitation. The men who were causing trouble left quickly once they realized who he was.”

She shook her head slightly.

”After that, we didnʼt even exchange many words. He couldnʼt even tell I was Tina Roxleyʼs little sister because I was obviously in disguise. So in fact, I thought that would be the end of it.”

Rinaʼs smile softened, ”But business kept bringing me back to that same restaurant. Client meetings, negotiations, partnerships… every top-tier individual and business within the sanctuary gathered there, so a person like me cannot avoid going there. Coincidentally, Edward also visited quite often to treat his wives.”

Edward muttered quietly, ”It has good food…”

The table laughed lightly as nearly everyone agreed. Davis also had to admit that Jaisi Alstreim got the best food in the entire sanctuary. He was aware that she also had many contacts since most of the spy information that came from restaurants to the Davis Family was from her. She was mostly loyal to the Davis Family.

”So we kept running into each other,” Rina giggled, ”At first, it was just brief greetings. Then it turned into occasional conversations, and before long, we started meeting outside of those coincidences.”

She glanced at Edward again, this time with open warmth, as she reached out her hand to grab his hand.

”Somewhere along the way, those meetings stopped being accidental. We began seeing each other deliberately and before I even realized it… Discussions about marriage had already begun. We started to… love each other…”

Rina Roxley finally displayed a hint of blush on her face, her professional expression cracking.

”Good.” Claire commented with a joyous smile, ”Sometimes, the simplest beginnings grow into the strongest bonds.”

”Thank you for the wishes, mother.” Rina Roxley cupped her hands before she toasted to her new family.

Davis also agreed that simple beginnings grew into the strongest bonds.

He couldnʼt help but think about the most recent one, which was Juili. He didnʼt have the time to meet her again, and she was still stuck in seclusion. He didnʼt know whether to lament it or take it as a blessing in disguise, since he didnʼt have time, but he looked forward to meeting her again when she was available.

”You have grown up, Rina. Iʼm sure your elder sister will be beyond glad.”

”Yes, she was helping me arrange things for my marriage until you came back, and she ran back, forgetting me entirely.”

”Pfft~”

The siblings nearly burst into laughter while Davis also suppressed his laughter, nearly smashing the table as he was about to bang it with his palm.

Fortunately, he stopped it before he made a mess.

Moreover, Davis found no lies when listening to her story.

Naturally, even if there were lies, he wouldnʼt nitpick on it since this was Tinaʼs little sister. Everyone was welcoming of her for the same reason.

”Edward, not bad.” Davis looked at his brother, ”Her ability would make your newly established Edward Family prosper, but why would you establish a new power instead of carrying on the Loret Familyʼs legacy?”

Edward was about to thank Davis when he turned speechless.

The others also turned silent.

Why would Davis ask such a question that would rile up the rivalry between Edward and Ernest?

”Brother, you must be kidding.” Edward chuckled, ”How can I take something that belongs to first brother, Ernest? He was the Loret Emperor before the Loret Family renounced its imperial status, so he will remain the head. Besides, I do not want to start a rivalry over this, since ours is just about battle prowess. What I wanted to do is follow in your footsteps, brother. If you can establish your own family, why canʼt I?”

”…” Davis raised his brows, his expression intrigued, before he nodded.

”Well said.”

He turned to look at the others, ”Everyone of you is free to pursue power, but not at the cost of the familyʼs expense. Also, if I feel that too many of you are divisive, with you tending to create your own power and dividing the overall force and accidentally weakening the Loret Family while still enjoying the Davis Familyʼs treasures, I will come back to forcefully unite us all again. Am I clear?”

”Yes~”

The siblings all replied immediately as they straightened their backs.

”Good!” Davis nodded and continued to fill himself.

These days, he was having good food of different varieties, so he couldnʼt help himself.

While no one dared to utter a word while the parents looked at the scene with amusement, Timi Yael raised her hand, her expression still cheerful.

”Donʼt worry, big brother. Iʼll look after brother Ernest since Iʼm the strongest female youth in the Loret Family.”

”A Peak-Level Immortal Emperor cultivation base with a prowess of seven levels higher is extremely good. Youʼve trained hard, Timi.”

Davis said fondly.

It seemed like Timi Yael never forgot his teachings and made huge strides in her cultivation.

Timi Yael was surprised Davis could accurately tell her prowess. She inwardly praised him, still idolizing Davis in her heart.

Davis moved on, ”Diana, when can I see your child? Why is there none yet?”

It was Dianaʼs turn to be speechless now.

It seemed like their big brother intended to ask all uncomfortable questions here. In that case, this wasnʼt a reunion banquet but a grilling banquet.

She smiled wryly, ”Brother, weʼre focusing on cultivation first. A child could be had later.”

”Donʼt follow my example. The higher you go in cultivation, the harder it is to conceive children. Wayn Nolan, I expect more from you.”

”Brother-in-law, youʼre too much!”

Davis narrowed his eyes, causing Wayn Nolan to complain embarrassingly.

Wasnʼt this blaming his virility?

”Next,” Davis turned to look at his other siblings, their hearts stopping.

It seems like they needed to commit mass suicide, or they wouldnʼt be able to escape from this grilling.

Meanwhile, Logan, Nora, and Claire were secretly shedding tears of joy.

They had such a filial son who took care of the hard part for them.

In the end, Davis nearly left them all in tears equally.

Even the ones he was unfamiliar with, like second brother and first sister, got grilled for their complacent and show-off nature. But they never went overboard and didnʼt get in any scandals, so Davis still praised them.

Fortunately, the latter half of the banquet was much more calm and soothing, allowing them to breathe and smile cheerfully since Davis promised them to teach soul cultivation later on, as in the initial days. They were also thankful that there was a unifying focal point that no one dared go against. Or else, like any other family, the chances of being at odds would appear frequently.

By the time the siblings started to leave, Davis still remained, his gaze falling on a pair as he came to know who the prime culprits were. With his karmic sight, it was plainly and painfully visible to him, making him inwardly sigh as he had no idea how to go over this issue.

ʼThis... is a major scandal...ʼ

Davis felt an headache coming his way as the bond seemed deep already.

”Son, you wanted to talk to me about something?”

While staying in his parentʼs house, Claire came to visit him.

Davis turned to look at her and smiled wryly, ”Hmm, itʼs about Evan and Laura.”
